  1. hitman just shut up and go stare down a dictionary of Naval aircraft because you obviously have NO knowledge what so ever of the USN. Personally if you said that to me, you won't really be talking right now because it just makes me mad how uneducated you really are!
  2. I play with you on hyperlobby, if you havent had the time to ever check the Player Pool...... and also I kinda take that offensively so you can shut up.
  3. If you said that to a real F-14 pilot he would litterally kill you. Why did they not use the Phoenix in Top Gun? ok, first of all its TOP GUN you idiot. Also it is well over 300,000 bucks for a single unit and since you obviously didnt know that, you really need to stop talking. Third, in topgun, its TRAINING you ............, JUST like red flag but the Navy's version and do you see killing? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  4. omfg, did you even read the sentence I put?????? I guess not It stopped the production of the 21 because Grumman wanted to see how the hornet would turn out. Unfortunately the darn thing SUCKED so bad that they put the tomcats advanced technology in the hornet so it would help make it actually classify as a Naval fighter! Not to mention the plans originated in the early 80's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, the super hornet project was never even started till late 80's because they wanted to upgrade that technology to something more advanced which they were able to succeed at, boy is that a miracle. But now it turns out the old tech of the F-14A is still better than any hornet out there today...
  5. Holy crap hitman your a like another Jessica Simpson when it comes to F-14. That footage was being filmed on the first "TEST" flight of the F-14, December 30, 1970, the real first takeoff was on the 21st. Here are some articles on the tomcat and of what happened that day. http://www.csd.uwo.ca/~pettypi/elevon/baugher_us/f014.html http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/f-14.htm For once, PLEASE LOOK SOMETHING UP BEFORE YOU POST ANOTHER STUPID REMARK/THING that can really get you back
  6. Oh its existing alright, it just hasnt been put into production. My friend Ryan Pearce, an aeronautical engineer/designer has figured out what the payload rails, and armament decisions should be just by using the math of the designated size of the wings, and under belly to map out where each weapon should be and so on, it really amazed me once he displayed it to me for the first time of what Grumman should of done with the F-14A. The design/project of the hornet is what stopped the production of the Tomcat 21 (21st century F-14) because that technology was halted and ended up being put in the F/A-18's. From what Ryan told me, the whole aircraft would be able to store away up to 16 weapons. half bombs and half missles, and have enough space for 2 external's! http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/planes/f14/st21-2.jpg http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/planes/f14/st21-1.gif http://www.f14tomcat.neostrada.pl/zdjecia/historia/evol-4l.jpg
  7. Wow! somebody REALLY needs to get out the books and research or something, I recommend this www.wikipedia.com!!!! The AIM-54C was retired less than a year ago and has NEVER been put into storage until Tomcat Sunset 'September 20th". And also about that, dont ever say the F/A-18 is better than the tomcat because anybody will straight out tell you no its not. That video of the F-22 and F/A-18, ever figured the pilot in the hornet was just a fighter "ace"? ALSO on the flyby of the F-14 until it explodes, that was from the wing flying off because it had poor maintainence and the guy didn't screw in loose screws from the last flight considering it was doing over 700 knots into a high 'G pull, so ofcourse the wing would probably rip off causing the fuel to catch fire and which then exploded, I can tell you more about the story some other time. Here is a reply from one of the F-14 NATOP's who knows what he is talking about with the Tomcat.......
  8. Edit: LMAO:megalol: :megalol: :megalol: :megalol: :megalol: , where did you make that up from? Good job:smartass:
  9. One thing Pilot, what is the kill ratio of the Super Hornet to the Tomcat? And also the distance irrelavent to that. Not very sure with the hornet but I think it is 6 or 8:12 at a range of 50 miles and the tomcat is 5:6 with the Aim-54 with over a distance of 150 miles and 3:4 with the Aim-7, the hornet has a capability of being able to carry 12 -120's but that is a whole crap load to be able to spam :P
  10. Just letting you know, the whole F/A-18 project started around the same time as the F-14, 1970! And the Super Hornet project originated a little while before 1991 making it over 15 or 16 years old already.
  11. Yup, I opened this thread because I want to hear of all your opinions of what you think about the switch of the F-14 to the F/A-18E/F. Who is better, who is worse, who will beat who, who has the better kill ratio/score, etc. Here are some opinions and story's of what the real boys and lovers think about it and what it has done to their lives. I would give my whole opinion on it but it will be one big, big story :P.
  12. ok to my knowledge, the canopy glass doesnt "shatter", the whole darn thing just gets blown off once the det-cord pulverizes the lock. Still intact isnt it? Seen TOPGUN? I am sure you have, their canopy blows right off doesnt it?
  13. Former Red Ripper Robert L. Curbeam, Jr., (CAPTAIN:captain: , USN) will be riding Discovery into orbit on Thursday as a mission specialist aboard STS-116. Here's a link to his NASA bio; http://www.jsc.nasa.gov/Bios/htmlbios/curbeam.html P.S. He is from Baltimore, Maryland. I live in Fallston, Maryland and he went to school at Woodlawn, thats about a half hour from where I live! Just wanted to say good luck and Godspeed my healthy young F-14 pilot:bye_2:
  14. clarify fluffy:P
  15. dude that is normal man, the third one looks just like mine when I got a hazy overcast. if you want it more real just turn down your visablitiy range to 20km or 50km.
  16. First of all I dont think it is the Haze on advanced. It might just be the density of the haze and visability range selected. If you have it on full visability, sure, you will be able to see a huge ship for miles :P
  17. I editted my answer before you posted.....
  18. Yeah if you are talking about what I think you are talking about, not sure but I think its the automatic canopy de-froster. Is the little thin line behind the canopy what your thinking?
  19. First of all the onboard computer has its own format, its like the old old MS-DOS kind of thing is all they read, atleast I think still. If I am completely wrong, dont hand my butt to me please lol. You also asked how the computer can handle a G or high amount of G's, guess what, computers don't pass out, nor do they have blood veins/cells that rush to their heads or their feet so they are online 24/7 with no power outage. Ever seen the movie "Stealth" it is the same deal with the max velocity drop and the high speed pull outthey show in it, pulling out from over mach 1.5 at a rate of atleast 4 G's will make you pass out regardless of your past experience or physical state. I think that movie exaggerates that part though cause once he pulls out of the drop and does mach 4 through the city, boy there would be nothing left of that city not to mention the pilot wouldnt of gotten out of the pull in time before hitting the ground.
  20. great shot but very big.
  21. haha I was totally about to say that Cali, this topic is over, it was answered in a short 3 replys lol. Its like nerds of the million dollar aircrafts :P.
