I just want to know where your custom or user created payloads are located because I want to reinstall DCS. I don't want to go through the trouble of making all those payloads again so. Thanks! :pilotfly:

How to spot targets with TGP? Literally... I can't see anything in the TGP with all the ground clutter that they have added with the new engine. Switching it to FLIR seems to make it even worse... I literally called JTAC for tasking to send the data directly to my plane so I can hook it onto my TGP but even if I slave the tgp directly onto the target I can't even see it! Any tips on finding the targets? I'll have to pray that there's going to be a fix at some point. Thanks.

Welp, you see, the 750 ti is fairly limited in terms of the power that is available to it seeing it only has the PCI-E slot to deliver power, no extra connectors. So by default the 750 Ti doesn't even go higher than 100% power and further more, the voltage seem to be hard locked to 1.2V. I've modded the BIOS to allow extra power to around 115% and it now runs the same overclock as 100% and no modded BIOS but actually with better performance (weird 750 ti thing i guess) but I've still have yet to find a way to mod the bIOS to allow more than 1.2V. As for stability, I've tested the overclock in Heaven (ran it for hours) and also in other games without crashing. I think it's only DCS that doesn't like the overclock on the 750 ti. When I have time I think I'll try without overclocking the memory like the post above. Thanks! :)

Interesting... Maybe I'll try no memory OC like you...

Do we know when they are planning to fix it? Hopefully in the next patch? I believe that this bug has been there for a long time and people have noticed it too... :(

For the longest time, even since the DX9 days of 1.2, GPU overclocking did not sit well with DCS it seems. After a few minutes of the flying the game would freeze up, or crash or sometimes even a system total lock-up. I've recently just spend a good 2 days to validate my new overclock on my GTX 750 Ti, I tried this overclock in some other games such as GTA V and BF4, both which ran very well and today when I tried to run my overclock on DCS, just like before, within just a few minutes, the whole system hard locked. So now I'm wondering if any of you guys have observed the same issue? Do any of you run overclocks with DCS? If so, please let me know. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you :)

Welcome to DCS! I had lots of question to ask when I got here as well but reading the manual really helps you understand setting up the aircraft and how the aircraft avionics work. Part of the reason why I think your plane is pitching up is because of the trim, just trim down once you start flying faster, otherwise, check the calibration of your joystick or even set some deadzones/curvature in the DCS axis control (found under "options" then "controls" and at the bottom there should be an "axis assign")

Hi everyone, I've just updated from 1.2 to the newest and stable version of DCS 1.5.2 and I've noticed that for air to ground missiles like the Mavericks or Hellfires, whenever they hit a target there is a lack of vehicle explosion or explosion sound in general. All there is is a quiet metallic sound, sort of like metal on metal. Is this a bug or is it something that I messed up? How can I fix is? Thanks. (I haven't tested this in air to air situations... I don't remember if they had the explosion sound or not, when I have time, i update the post.)

I remember that there was once a thread about this before when DCS 1.5 was just launched, but I thought that this was a simple issue to fix and they'd probably have it fixed by the stable version of 1.5.2. Well I was wrong, I just tested this today with the new release of DCS and unfortunately, when you engage attitude and then altitude hold and then roll in the F-15C, the aircraft will start to lose altitude and it will not maintain level flight. Eventually you will crash into the ground (learned this the hard way). Please fix, ED :)

Very good questions! Hoping to here back from those guys!

Hahaha that's awesome... something I totally would do too if I knew how to do it :megalol:

Hi everyone, I'm am pretty new to the modding scene in DCS and I would like to ask how much performance impact will I get from running SweetFX? I am currently using a GTX 750 Ti and usually inside the cockpit of the A-10C I can get around 45~55 fps. Outside, I can easily reach over 60 fps and beyond. All the settings are on HIGH (not ultra or anything) with MSAA at 4x and depth of field off, HRD off. Also, can anyone suggest me some cockpit mods that are really good for the A-10C? I have looked at Ricardo's Horse of War which looks fantastic, but I personally don't like it that much (mainly the very used and worn look). Any help would be greatly appreciated and happy new years! :pilotfly:

I'm about to upgrade my PC, HELP!!!
JazonXD replied to Tank Stomper Kieran's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
YOU DO NOT NEED TO GET THAT i7! The i5 is wonderfully enough for DCS and even better if you overclock it (assuming you haven't already). If you have 8GB of ram or more, I would say that it's already enough for DCS to run smoothly. If you really need the extra RAM to run other things, then go ahead I guess, but you don't really need the extra RAM for DCS (I have 8GB @ 1866 CAS 9 DDR3 and it works well). Finally, use all the money you have on the GPU! Since the change to DX11, DCS is now beautifully GPU optimised than ever before and you need to put all your eggs in the GPU basket. If you have the cash, go for a 980 Ti, otherwise, a 980 or 390 or 970 will do you wonders. Hope this helps! (And then there's me stuck on a 750 Ti hahaha :helpsmilie: ) -
2016 Hardware Benchmark - DCS World 1.5.x

Great work sir! Very comprehensive and detailed. +1 -
alright, thanks for the help :)

Under which folder? I took a look at his installation and there was no bin folder...

Hi everyone, my friend just downloaded 1.5 today as I introduced him to DCS, but he can't find where the exe is for launching DCS. It used to be in "bin" for 1.2 but I don't have 1.5 yet so I don't know where to go for 1.5. If anyone can enlighten us, that would be appreciated, thanks.

As your first planes if you are looking for simpler ones, FC3 will give you an amazing package to explore the DCS world. After that, I'd say to move onto the A-10C or maybe the 15 or 86 like you said.

Hi everyone, I just want to know what's the best countermeasure to drop when a Tunguska has fired at you. I know the missile's optically guided, but I'm not sure what I should do once it's fired... you know, so I don't get shat on :D:joystick: Thanks

Basically what we need is a multi-role fighter that's decently modern. The thing with the F-16 is that we need a pretty decent variant that's kinda new. Like mentioned before, not many people are going to be too happy with the A variant, and since the later variants (C and blocks xx) are in the 90s and later, it'll be harder to simulate them because of the mil restrictions. That's why I really want the 15E because it's a really upgraded and developed aircraft variant already but still in the same decade (80s to 90s) and I think it'll be a bit more worthwhile to do the 15E? Please correct me if all of this is wrong, just my personal opinion though.
-
F-15E is much better performance wise I'm pretty sure. Flies faster as well. Only thing it doesn't do as well is low speed dogfighting and also F-15E can't do SEAD. Otherwise, 15E has more bombs and stuff it can carry. (a theoretical maximum of 12 GBU-12s under just the belly). Also, the 15E is just more awesome in my opinion :D

DCS 2.0 and NTTR Alpha... is it free for now?
JazonXD replied to JazonXD's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Okay, thanks everyone. I would buy it but I already spend a hefty $20+ on A-10C just about two weeks ago. This may not be a lot but it's a lot to me. Thanks for the answers once again. -
BASICALLY. I'll be the #1 supporter if they get the things right
