right, and it's that smoothness that I really need. Although I only have a 60Hz monitor, I know there is a difference between the trackir movements between 50-60fps and 80-90fps. For some reason, the 970 is not getting there when the mirrors are down... How can the mirrors take away so much performance?

your eyes dont see in "frames" but if you put in terms of frames, the human eye can see even up to 1000 frames per second. Air force pilots were flashed by an image of an aircraft for only 1 millisecond which is 1/1000 sec. and they were able to identify the aircraft. That means, they can see up to 1000fps if you put into the "frames" idea. Also, what settings are you using? Are you using mirrors?

Hi everyone, I don't know if this has been reported before, but I've found this bug: I determined that the "restart mission" key (Left Shift+R) was too easy to hit by accident so I switched it to Left Win+Left Shift+R. I changed it to that binding in every one of the FC3 aircraft (for some reason the Hawg and Mustang don't have this key binding) and I even changed the "General" to this key binding. However in game, when I press the default (Left Shift+R), it still restarts the mission. This is not to mention that after restarting, there is no sound in certain things (No aircraft engines for example). Thanks :joystick:

Okay, so I just tried some things again. I put on 8x MSAA and the frame rates I get while in the cockpit of the 15C were pretty bad, mid 40s and mid 50s. Occasionally up above 60s because I was looking at the sky OR I was at a MUCH higher altitude. However, if I put the mirrors away, the frame rates instantly jump to like 80+ even when I'm close to the ground WITH 8x MSAA... How can the mirrors possibly affect performance that much and is it even possible to run DCS WITH mirrors? When I had the 750 Ti, I was running 4x MSAA and I had to put the mirrors away. But WITH the mirrors, I am getting about the same performance as the 750 Ti even with my 970. Can anyone please help?

haha, locked cpu overhere... never would have thought cpu would be the bottleneck...

Interesting... Only thing I can think of is the game files being messed up somewhere. Maybe try reinstalling if you have the time?

Hi, can anyone enlighten me on the graphical settings and their impacts to performance in the game? Currently, I just upgraded from a GTX 750Ti to a 970 SSC and across the board in every other game and also benchmarks, the 970 is x2.5+ better than the 750 Ti. However in DCS, I used the exact same settings as the 750 Ti except for 8x MSAA instead of 4x and still I am getting about the same fps as the 750 Ti. Obviously I know that MSAA is going to tank performance but I'm not sure if it's supposed to do that by that much. So can anyone please help me point out some "limiting factors" to my gameplay experience? Thanks. EDIT: I just tried NO anti aliasing at all and the frame rates were the EXACT SAME as if I had 8x MSAA... Clearly something weird is going on here. Can anyone please help?

Sensitivity for Autopilot Disengage: Tweakable?
JazonXD replied to Nerdwing's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
As far as I know, you can't edit it through the systems directly on the A10 -
Thanks for the video demonstrations! This is basically what was happening with me almost exactly spot on. Hopefully they will get a fix for this soon.

The 15E is already on Razbam's roadmap after the A-7... both the a7 and 15e is apparently waiting on a ground radar that ED can give them to work with so yeah, i just pray that it won't take too awfully long...........

Sorry for noob question, but is the 64 better or worse than the Ka50?
-
Correct so the are working on one right now with the f18 module that's coming. There were screenshots of the WIP a few months ago, you can probably still find it here

alright good to know. I'll try to see if tweaking the value changes anything, but i'm so busy for this week :P exams are a bitch

Hmm interesting. Thanks for the info. Did anyone actually do this to get those amazing shots for the screenshot contest? :D
-
Thank you. Is there a way to increase the quality of screenshots then?

Were you manuevoeuring at all?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to know how to get the camera to be free moving and allow me choose an angle that I would like (For example, the beautiful pictures and angles shown in the many screenshot contestants) And also, is there a way I can improve the quality of the screenshots in DCS? Whenever I hit screenshot, the image looks all jagged and lower bitrate; doesn't look as good as in game. How can I change that? Thanks and sorry for noob questions.

ahh, it's okay. Thanks for the info, all :)

For me, if i make a new mission in mission editor or generate a mission etc, then the sounds usually work fine. However, if I play a mission that was created back in 1.2 or earlier, then sounds don't work properly.
-
AFAIK there's nothing to fix this yet. It seems to only happen on missions that were created before 1.5 (ex 1.2.16 missions or earlier)

Interesting... looks like the presents change something that you can't change with the GUI...

Thank you guys! What setting for the visibility do you guys recommend that would let me have proper missile model but also not impact performance too heavily?

Hello? Anyone here that can help? This is on my friend's laptop which has prety low-end specs, but it is enough to run DCS at all low settings and around 30 to 50 fps. Processor is i5 5200U and 8GB of RAM. (Intel HD 5500 iGPU). Does the specs directly relate to the missile model being screwed up like that? I thought that there was going to be a "Model Details" type of setting but all there is are texture details and terrain textures. Thanks.
