  3. Sure, by someone that is actually trying the beta WHICH IS NOT YOUR CASE. Besides it should be about provide feedback and not whining, it is up to the dev to decide how to deal with the feedback.
  4. Moderators please close this thread, this conversation is leading nowhere. Instead of discussing how to improve a feature that have been around years in professional simulators, because paid researches came to obvious conclusion that virtual computer cannot provide the same real visibility sensation and tried to compensate it, people are bashing a feature that is still in beta for A PRODUCT THAT IS STILL IN BETA. If you don't like momentary unfinished/testing features you should not even sign up to a Beta and stick to the production version. In case you didn't sign up, you should just shut up and see what it will be. There is no sense to sign up to a BETA and whining because there are bugs or nothing is balanced, even less if you didn't. BETA purpose are to try the product and tweaks whatever needs a tweak, if necessary remove any feature that creates instability and in extreme case add features to increase stability (both gameplay and performance). It has been like this for ages.

  6. Please explain me how a monitor at 1080p, even 4k, can offer the same visibility as in real life, because that's what you wrote. Who cares if even professional simulators make use of scaling techniques that come from researches, they all must have done all wrong until today.
  7. I knew that solution, but I was really trying to avoid to mod something that there was no reason to be modded (there is already the eng cockpit with a good enough texture). I prefer to wait, thanks anyway.

  9. I just have this to say, so again you take a position (whether pro or cons) for something that you haven't tried like you have done with another Russian game on another forum....... Most people here agree that the system needs to be tweaked, that ED never stated that current visibility is the final stage and, as someone said, tweaks can go back and forth. Besides not everyone is prone to a 4K monitor, I believe that there are a lot of people that would prefer a VR set (with a more acceptable resolution and latency) over a 4K monitor. So what i'm gathering is that since you are prone to 4K monitor option, visibility enlargement should be banned because it does not fit your desire. First of all, I started this thread to discuss/suggest improvements and not step back to the whole visibility system regardless enlargements or not (that's why I brought the reflection topic to the table). Second, let's remember that ED moved this option to gameplay thus under the server controllable feature, so if you don't like that feature you are free to pick a server where this feature is off (in case you don't find many or the population is low......you might not be 100% correct in your point of view).

  13. I've changed my settings to small and it is more realistic at least for ground targets (although some might argue that ground targets are still too large). However with this setting I really struggle to spot small air targets (e.g. f16).

I don't know if it is a bug or issue, however the model visibility has this strange transition where the model is visible at distance and suddenly it becomes hard to spot to then becomes visible again as the distances close in. This behavior is noticeable specially with the option set to small and a medium/small target. I don't think it is due to the model itself but to the render transition that seems to suffer of an abrupt render snap (goes immediately to the normal rendering when the target is still too far to be seen without aid). The mig 21 easy target mission is a good place to check this, where you are against a f16 and even with the large setting you can still see this behavior in a smaller scale. I have even paused the simulation in a situation where a the head movement would totally show or hide the target. NE

  18. As the title says after the update to 1.5.1 the option to select the English version of mig 21 cockpit has gone. I've tried to both do a repair and reinstall mig 21 module but nothing solved my problem.
  19. Already done but nothing has been fixed :( Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing, I have update my dcs to 1.5.1 Update : I have just deactivated my mig 21 serial and reinstalled. Not only it ate one of my activation but also it didn't solve anything.
  20. problem is that customized cockpit option is gone after the last update :( so disappointed by the situation, I finally had free time to spare and happy for the new spot visibility increased....ready to finally play with the mig 21 and.......Russian cockpit....:cry:
  21. After the upgrade to 1.5.1 my cockpit suddenly changed to Russian, now if my mind don't trick me there was an option to set that but I don't see it anymore.
  22. I like the last update, that improved even more the visibility in the game but I'd like to suggest a couple thing. 1. Different options between air, land, naval and static models. Currently the large option allows almost the right visibility to aircrafts but at the same time it is just too much for tanks and things like that. So separating all sort of models would allow a better fine tune to fit each person. 2. The only thing that is missing to improve even further the visibility skill is the reflection (again with the ability to set it for each model type so people can set it according to their system - in case it might be a bit heavy on CPU), so please guys take this into consideration.   24. Terrain texture washed After the last update each time I start the software the texture become automatically washed. I have to select a preset and set all options again to become normal, but again once I exit the software and get back the issue returns. I have already tried the repair options but it didn't solve. Is this a known bug? I forgot to add that i'm referring to the 1.5 UPDATE : I realized that this happens only when I set visibility range to extreme
