If you are willing to look at the ABRIS you can change the measurement system to knots/feet/mmhg. You go into options from the homepage and coordinate from there. Hell, why not. I would like my HUD and gauges to read knots for when I play missions online and have to report speed.

The Ka-50 is meant to be a day-time attack helicopter, but generally, you will want to use NVG at night as opposed to the HMS. Best thing to do is turn down the brightness of the TV screen, turn off all other lights in the cockpit, and adjust to your needs. You will want to uncage the Shkval when facing the target area, and slew it to the target, since you cannot slave your Shkval from the HMS.
