  1. Yea there does seem to be a complaining nature of the forum. :music_whistling:
  2. I was not saying you where wrong was i? I was saying that i shoundt automatically assume that EAS is sea level. No lets start to act like adults before we all get banned. And on what Frederic said, if you can show us proper proof not just a discussion on how it might be unstable. WE Will all believe. And another thing if you are an aero engineer. You should know that things that are said on paper, some times are wrong.. Bare that in mind.
  3. Yea as were supposed to believe that they where a bunch of bumbling idiots, who couldn't organize a booze up in a brewery. :megalol: I Have in fact learnt so much first EAS Now this... I went away and did research and look EAS just as bongo said. Sorry bongo and JTD for that misunderstanding As a aircraft engineer i am surprised you enjoyed the lecture :P Almost like i am in a class room listening to my professor go on about how, Oh wait he uses facts, that are proven. and then doesnt use a quote out of context from Yo-Yo. Interesting how self proclaimed professors use there facts. Crump, Have a reality check please. EVEN IF WE WHERE ALL WRONG. Which i higly doubt. But how long have you been on this forum, please just stand back, stop making topics that incite hatred and personal tiffs between every one vs u and kurfust. And please, for the love our every ones sanity. GET along with every one. There are some people on this forum that are annoying and hated by a lot of people. So please stop trying to make your self one. Settle down and relax. And does it really matter in every day life about this. And honestly i would believe a BBMF pilot over any report, that leaves inconclusive information about the weight bobs. Oh so i am not the only one to notice the two argument inciters on many forums. Very funny
  4. On that thought, I thought i would say, i am finding in line with the post on dora or kufust rather enjoying the dora long range more the 109 now. i think it is becoming my favorite. And Sorry JTD and Bongo for my lack of communication skills and understanding.
  5. Yea thats what is was trying to get accross. Sorry for my lack of communication skills. lol. But my point was if i said eas without giving a altitude, at least i would automatically think oh he is flying at sea level.
  6. Yes, but the mk-IX's turn cycle is tighter then the mark 5's. If my brain serves me right. And will we get slipper tanks on the 9 and 5
  7. fantastic, i am personally looking at that one myself. I must say off all the ww2 aircraft the Spitifre mk IX and Mosquito are the ones i look forward to most.
  8. Because when you refer to EAS you are automatically refering to sea level by default. So although 165eas could be obtained at alt. when you say eas it automatically refers to sea level.
  9. What??????????? Sorry but i dont understand either your spamming or i dont get what u mean.
  10. That is a problem with seeing him after the engagement is over. But to think of it from a more historical view point. If you get away from an Aircraft that is better in some aspects like climbing and turning, even in the sim, it is still a nice feeling to land with no holes in the wing. Refuel/rearm or have a drink. and then get back up there.
  11. But anyway Arent we getting off topic again. Sorry to consistently bring this up, when some go off topic. A major difference i have found between the 109 and the 190 is the 190 is a lot faster, and much easier to fly for hours on a flight sim then the 109. I would say the 190's ergonomic layout also makes it much easier in combat to read speed, Alt, temps, fuel and Vertical Speed. Whereas in the 109 the fuel gauge is covered by the flare gun and some temps are aswell. In the mustang the single biggest problem i had with the cockpit was the throttle lever covering the altimeter. The other differences i have found is gun sight in the 109 i personally find much more accurate then the dora. On a par with the mustangs K-14 gunsight.
  12. Oh guys read into the website of theres. a F6F and a P-38 lightning. I am sure they will be the next 2 aircraft.
  13. Will post a video on Youtube in the next few days about takeoff.
  14. Thats my biggest fear, that clowns include the bearcat into a ww2 situation.
  15. One thing that i have found is close the radiators to full close then open for 3-4 seconds elevates the overheating problem. Another thing i have found is that the prop can be battle damaged way more then the mustang, and have hols in it. In my daily dogfight with 8 mustangs i have found that keeping energy up and then droping in on a mustang is a really good tactic to drop in behind shoot MG's do some damage if gun sight is not completely on. The other thing i have found, since the cannon is low/V it is wise to come in close to you see the white on his eyes to quote "sailor"
  16. Honestly Havent we diverted from the original post. Its not about weather Mw-50 helps. He was stating its pure dog fighting ability against the mustang. Not what variant bud fought and out turned. Can we please get back on topic, and on tactics that we can use. Elijah
  17. I personally dont have a problem with it. check your joystick to see how it is configured.
  18. Hi everyone Just letting you know, the 487th is a realistic flight sim squadron. We are currently recruiting Players from the Australia, New Zealand region. We put a very high emphasis on teamwork to attain combat proficiency. We have a few different types of aircraft to be flown. WW2 Vintage Heli's Modern Jets If your interested in any of these please let us know by PM. A bit more about us. Based in Auckland New Zealand and Just north of brisbane, we are collecting all Anzac players who are interested in a realistically operated squadron WW2 and other branches of dcs, that flys currently 4/5 times per week in training dogfights. Soon a campaign will be operated on a multiplayer server for other pilots to join, if they want. Pilots in ww2 or who fly anything are very much welcome, interested or just curious drop me a PM. We have a website just undergoing final polishing and then will be up. Training material is very simple and leaning practical dogfights and very little to no theory and test flights. The man requirement is to be able to fly in combat and just to get on with the current leadership. And being able to fly in a teamwork based enviroment. Elijah Section leader Squadron Founder
  19. I havent tried against the 109, but as the 109 it is easy to saddle a mustang, but if your at high altitude you should hold a small advantage. plus above 500kph the mustang is more maneuverable at heights if my memory proves me right.
  20. I have found helping another member of the 487th to take off, you must attain 150/200 Kph before trying to get off the ground which alleviates the problem with a wing droping on takeoff. as for going side to side, take off assist and auto rudder on or off. And putting flaps down i have found helps keep straight. i dont need flaps but it can help. the other thing is to put trim full nose down. apart from that i dont know how to help :(
  21. left shift space to take the safety cover off. And if you can post a track? And i agree about the "texture" although that "group" did some heinous things never done before in recorded history. The Swastika is actually a Indian religious symbol. So it's like a knight having a cross on his shield, but that texture caries some serious confrontations with it.
  22. Completely agree. And honestly i have not encounted a situation where i have had to engage mw-50 in the 109, against loads of AI.
  23. Sorry was a typo, i ment 75Hg......... But as pman said no balancing is needed. Just mustang pilots need to work together now. And need to get altitude to dogfight. hopefully we get the AI-B-17 soon so mustangs can stay high. :)
  24. And in reality, it depends a lot more on the pilot then the aircraft. I would choose the 109 over the mustang, only for its turning. It really depends. I love the dora but did not fly it in combat course i was scared of energy fighting. i am not a natural energy pilot. I can however turn well, and attribute that to all my mustang kills. So in honest examination, the Mustang will have an advantage once the AI-B-17 comes out. and i really dont want to see this sim end up with loads of 109's and Spitfire XIV's at low attitude in a knife fight in a phone box. But if mission makers in the ACG,Burning Skies and DOW servers make sure that there are soon high alt missions, even if your escorting a an-26. the mustang will regin at high alt. WHY? because i believe the mustang then becomes much more evanly matched with the Kurfurst in turning. Because at high altitudes the mustang is an amazing aircraft. And how many of us have dogfight a mustang a high alt. very few. I am soon going to conduct a group of experiments at altitude levels from tree top to angels 35, to see at what alts the Mustang,Dora and Kurfust have there superior area's. if we get 75 Octaine fuel which i hope, to level and be more realistic, it may help the mustang. But hold on, we are doing this all wrong. Remember the mustang had a huge number advantage against the Luftwaffe, so maybe in mission, a lot of AI Mustangs can be added. Like a killer Bees of mustangs. To see just how long Kurfust guys can hold up. Yob 487th Squadron, Section Leader.
