Im already doing my bit: http://www.overclock.net/t/1425678/kickstarter-dcs-ww2-europe-1944
-
In my opinion the problem is not that people are not willing to pledge more for the stretch goals, is that right now there arent enough people pledging. It has to do more with advertisement than with anything else. The project as it is laid out already is amazing on its own.Facebook,Twitter,Youtube, blogs, etc. everything should be used to attract as many people as possible. That leads me to ask this: Has this project been posted on old IL2 forums?

DCS WWII: Europe 1944: Kickstarter Video 2: Flying Legends

Its amazing to see how passionate you and the team are. With all the interest brought by this project coupled with the DCS Steam sale, a lot of people are pouring into the DCS world.Im sure as soon as they get into the Mustang training they will realize what this projects represents and why we need this to succeed. -

You didnt even bother to read what I posted. Please do so and then reply, you just want to blame and point the finger at those two rather than analyze and understand what happened before passing judgement.Cheers :music_whistling: -
DCS WWII: Europe 1944: Kickstarter Primer

You speak as if they released CLOD unfinished because that was their will.Seriously?Ubisoft and bad/careless publisher, does that ring a bell? How can people have no sympathy to the group that gave you at least 10 years of ww2 aircombat and then were backstabbed and shut down after they were forced to release the sim when it wasnt ready. Oh and in case you had not noticed Cliffs of Dover is going stronger than ever giving the best WW2 online aircombat available. If this kickstarter goes well then this is the true succesor to the IL2 series.Right now CLOD has that title.Just hop on on one of our Sunday Campaign missions so you can get a taste.Historical missions with 92 pilots at once and yet people keep blaming the devs for what happened:doh: -
ATAG Bliss is giving away a set of Crosswind Rudder Pedals if we get 1000 people to pledge $40 or more. More info on their website: ATAG Giveaway

For those that have pledged $40 or above...

DCS WWII: Europe 1944: Kickstarter Primer
Royraiden replied to luthier1's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
I will certainly back this up and I already started spreading the word to my squad mates.Im really glad you are back doing what you love Luthier. -
If that did happen, what is the BIG deal? Im sure by reading some post that they might be some fair and legitimate concerns about the matter, but from other posts, for example the one Im quoting, the problem seems to be a simple label/classification or grouping. By the way for the person that replied to me mentioning the ME 262,my mistake , I forgot to add the word "modern". To me DCS biggest asset is the realism, yet some people are complaining about this issue, stating that not having a A-10 on WW2 era map would be a problem.Really? In the same way a Mustang doesnt belong along side an A-10, an A-10 doesnt belong alongside a 1944 scenario Mustang. I dont want to sound disrespectful to anyone, just sharing my opinion.Im new here and I realize most of you have been with DCS for a while.I came in after the mustang was released and as soon as I flew it I could only imagine a proper WW2 scenario for it to let lose alongside its contemporaries. Thanks to Luthier and co. and of course to DCS that scenario is on its way, so Im fine with the which ever approach they take regarding the issue, just as long as I can get a WW2 air combat sim going on given the multiplayer aspect of it matches what we have been used to before.

Seriously I feel the need to say this, a WW2 theater is not supposed to be aimed at the guys who usually fly jet aircraft.I think the WW2 air combat fans are going to appreciate the separation.
-
What exactly do you mean ? Is it so hard to select from two choices?Or are you referring to having content from one era(modern for example) on the other (40's).If the latter, whats the point of that, and is it necessary or a deal breaker? And even then from Luthier's posts it seems that will be possible, so I honestly dont know whats the big deal.
-
To say Im excited about this announcement is a big understatement.Thank you Luthier and co. for doing what you do.Also, I really have no clue why are so much people arguing and complaining about the separate install approach.WW2 aircombat fans are usually not interested on jet aircraft and vice versa so their choice makes a lot of sense to me.There is no need to have everything together, if you fly jets, stay with your modules, if you fly prop driven ww2 aircraft just go for the DCS WW2.It is as simple as that.
-
The wait is killing me.If there isnt going to be an announcement then why not say so?
-
Still the 31st on this side of the world :) Hopefully it will be there by the time I wake up.I have such high hopes for this project, Im sure it will be revolutionary.
-
Thanks Luthier for your work and I wish you the best for this upcoming sim you and your team will have all my support. It is also nice to see you here interacting with us, we certainly appreciate it. September 1st 1939, Ill be there, I cannot miss it... Sorry 2013 :P
-
Excellent news!! This is exactly what I was hoping and waiting for.If there is a kickstarter I will definitely support it.
-
I wont buy it for two reasons:first I dont have the spare money and second Im pretty satisfied with my setup.Anyways being a WW2 air combat flyer I surely appreciate a project like this.So you have all my support, even if it is not monetary.
-
I would support any future WW2 era plane , but since we already got the Mustang in soon the 190, more planes from the West Europe theater would make more sense.B-17,B-24,109 even the 262.
-
The more I fly the Mustang the more I love it!It has a steep learning curve and Im still getting familiarized with DCS but I have been having a blast. At first I couldnt fight the AI no matter what I did, then I selected the external view by accident and noticed I had drop tanks:doh: After noticing that, I was able to enter the dogfight on equal terms with the AI 190, and yesterday managed to shoot him down:joystick:.It is so rewarding on this sim. Thank you DCS.

I have been wanting to buy the Mustang for quite a long time and when I knew about this sale I decided this was the perfect time.Im still going through the tutorials, but so far Im really impressed.WW2 birds are my thing, so if they actually get to flesh out a ww2 theater with a few more planes with this standard, they will definitely hit a home run.
