Program2 replied to Witchking's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
That was a nice falcon video Witchking. I would have to agree that the explosion in that video looks a lot better with the amount of debris flying. -
Nothing wrong with preference :) . Just the fact that some people thinks the game is not a sim. It will not be worth playing at all because it's not realistic. It's a quick pickup game. Hit start and you are in the sky blowing things up. Of course it will not have the longevity Lock On has but the point here is this game can be fun.

Good point pod22. It's a different game and just because it's not realistic does not mean it can't be fun. I guess there are wanna-be pilots (who must have everything as realistic as possible) and some who are gamers. I consider myself a gamer. Whether it's a console game or PC game as long as it's fun I will play it :).

Okay back on topic, Bombers are bombing their designated targets. Now the question is: Is there a way to make the bombers take off from the same airbase as you? When I set the bomber to 'TAKE OFF FROM PARKING AREA/RUNWAY' I do not see the bomber even if the time is set as my take off time for example "12:00:00". Now if I set my plane to start in the air. I see the bomber taxi and take off. It would be nice to be able to take off from the ground with the bomber for escort missions. Thank you for the advance answers.

Thanks Goon, I haven't flown online yet but I will soon. I'll be the one with a big sign on the back that says 'EASY TARGET':) . Can't wait to try your server.
-
Thanks a lot Goon. Do I need to uninstall this everytime I play in other servers that does not allow changing the default loadouts?
-
Goon, How can you load R77s on other pylons?

Hello, This might be useful for those who are running Windows Vista. http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06-support/support-download-software-and-manuals.html 4.1.030 - Final B (beta 1) (Posted March 23, 2007) Changes Added Vista compatible USB drivers

Thank you all for your replies. Ironhand, Thank you for your complete and thorough instructions. It worked perfectly!
-
Still didn't work :( . I moved the waypoint within 10 km of the target. For the Plane's Task I have 'Runway Attack' is this correct?
-
Thank you Viper I'll try that.

I am trying to create a mission on my own. How can I set a plane to bomb an airbase (runway) I have created 1 waypoint for a bomber which goes directly over an airbase and set it to ATTACK TARGET but once the bomber hits the waypoint it simply turns around and goes back home without dropping the bombs. Thanks for the help.

ruggbutt, When will the server be up? I would like to try.

Hi Bat, What I meant by 'teamkill' in the server is that he may know how to re-arm and re-fuel but what happens if he doesn't know the radar systems. How can he tell friend from foe without reading more in the manual. Unless of course he logs on teamspeak and a squad helps him. Anyway I was just suggesting that there is a manual in case he didn't know.
-
Hmmm, I didn't mean to sound rude. I was just telling him there's a lot of info in there in case he didn't know. I am also new to this sim but the first thing I am doing is reading the manual. I know I will not stand a chance not knowing anything if I go play online so I'd rather learn first and save myself some frustration. I'm sure it is very to easy to tell a new guy the commands right away but I'm sure it will be a different story if he teamkills you in a public server. I believe the more knowledge you have. The more fun you will have with this sim. Oh well I didn't mean to offend anyone.

Kuky and UKR Alex, Nice set up. Nice and clean.

Wow! Nice specs there. It will probably run real smooth.

They are liftlines. http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=75&lid=197&ttitle=F-15_Full_Cockpit_Liftlines#dldetails

If you have low settings for your LOD this will happen. I leave mine at default and it doesn't do this. Decreasing it will give you a bit of more frames but will also result in such effects. LandLodDistances { LandDay { L01 = 10000; L12 = 40000;
