WOW, I just joined Dual Core club by upgrading myself to Core2 Duo. This CPU has got to be the best CPU ever in my 20years of PC gaming. After spending so much money to get Lockon to run smooth for the past 2 years, I now realise that all I had to do was wait for Intel release this CPU. E6420 runs Lockon FC like dream even without overclocking but overclocked to 3.2Ghz it runs like haven!

I bought a new CD version of FC because I couldn't activate my online version FC on my new shiny Core 2 Duo for many days. I didn't even know Starforce is also online based copy protection as well. I feel like I am an idiot liking this game and respecting the developer so much. So If this Starforce company goes bankrupt all my starforce copyprotected game is to be thrown into bin? Is this what I get for being royal & respecting ED? I really want to use F word now.

I upgraded my amd to intel core 2 to play lockon better but can not activate it. Why does it take so long to fix this problem? I love this game and respect the development team highly and I don't deserve being ignored this way.

I am running lockOn at 4xAA 16AF, 1680x1050 resolution. Recently upgraded(?) from 2x 7800GTX SLI to 8800GTS but seeing no FPS gain except IQ. The frame rate of the game is so bad I have to play with either visible range = medium or water = medium to make the game playable (everything else at high). Tough choice but I usually set water = medium other than visible range cut. My spec is AMD 3700 sandiego @ 2.7ghz, 2x 1GB RAM, 8800GTS on windows XP professional. I heard many people saying this game is badly optimised but after I play FSX I have to disagree with them be cause FSX doesn't look any better than lockOn yet the frame rate is 10times worse.

On my AMD 64 3700+ @2.7Ghz with 8800GTS. Huge difference in avg Frame rates but no real difference in minimum FPS. A10 Oil terminal mission sees no noticable difference over my 7800GTX. Feels good to have it but overall no gain for me.

I have been loving video games for 25 years but I have never loved any video game more than the LockOn.

you probably should reinstall lock-on from scratch. Have you overclocked you GPU/CPU? I find lockon the most senstive to overclocking.

Why does that screen shoots look less impresive than LockOn. Didn't microsoft have 3 years to learn from ED?

I confirmed that there is no benefit having 2 graphics card in lomac so my guess is get 1 ATI. However I have 2x 7800GTX running SLI mode. I got this just to play lomac with high AA such as 8xSLIAA. I does fantastic job doing it. if you need high AA get good nvidias and make them SLI.

I believe it is for only the paid users so I will be downloading it tomorrow. By the way subscribing gamespot is not a bad idea I initially made regreat but overall benefits are quiet reasonable.

Touch buddy is a fantastic idea & software. I have it and loving it. Although I only use A-10 profile at the moment. There are all most limitless potential in touchbuddy.

You probably need to give us your system specs. List of hardwares and which OS? Is your graphics driver up to day? DirectX?

This sounds very stupid. I did some more gogle search on DXrenderer.dll with lockon. Apperantly this fix is nothing but a BS. However I swore my life that I couldn't even get AA working on overcast weather last for 6~12months. If I have 8SLI AA it was slowing down the game noticably. Now I can play 8SLIAA or 16SLIAA easy no slowdown on anywhere. I didn't do anything else but changing graphics.cfg yesterday. I even restarted my PC to confirm I really have the fix. Even after restarting my PC it worked beautifully. Anyways heres some reply from the developer. Even if he's right, it's some quantum effects. You can't just replace our renderer with some other dll. This is stupid, frankly speaking. And note, LockOn logs (it should) that it can't load that dll, and uses the default one (surprise, it is DXRenderer.dll). By Dmitry S. Why don't you try to change your graphic renderer (something lik Dx8default.dll on the top of graphics.cfg file) to nv4_disp.dll. This solved my 12month old weather.dll with AA problem with bonus of shaper texture image quality and unbelivable FPS difference. I can not grantee this will fix your problem but this tweak was the best tweak I've ever done on lockOn.

fix found I found the fix for this problem :lol:. On my computer, this fix didn't only fix weather.dll issue but improved image quality and FPS greatly. Now I can play LockOn with 8AA(SLI) or 16AA(SLI) with much higher frame rate:D . Basically the fix was replacing lock on renderer from general directX renderer to nv4_disp.dll by modifying graphics.cfg. No more weather.dll error even at 16xAA, better image quality with 10%~60% higher higher frame rates. I now only get limitted by CPU even at 16AA + 8AF + high quality mode + super sampling tansparent AA in overcast weather! I can not believe I never knew this all these years.:doh:

I don't think FC supports this card. GRAW does however I searched web site and compared screen shoots with without PhysX card there seems allmost no benefits. Peronsally, I hope I am wrong but I think PhysX has no future. I think physics on the spare core of dual core CPU, Nvidia SLI and ATI crosfire physics are much better solution.

So no one knows yet why we having this probme huh? I still get this problem but only if I have AA on. I used to be able to run if AAx2 but not no AA works.

Geeez, I just posted very similar problem on the board. Overcast weather mission crashes if I have Anti Aliasing on (2, or 4, whaterver). Only way I can play this is either switch off AA or install overcast mod. I am going to try low the graphics card memory speed tonight. If you guys find a fix let me know. Thanks

Hi all, I have had this problem for last 6+ month. Every time I force Nvidia AA option (from control panel) the second A10 campaign (overcast weather) in LockOn FC crashes. I can always play this campaign if I switch off AA. The problem was there when my system was windows 2000 with only one 7800GTX with many different Nvidia driver versions. I now added one more 7800GTX and OS changed to windows XP SP2. No other games crashes on AA i.e.) GRAW, IL2+PF+AEP, SWAT4, DOOM3, HL2 and so many others My system specs are AMD 3700+ @2.42Ghz, 2GB GEIL DDR, Windows XP SP2, 7800GTX x 2 SLI There are few things I already tried. 1. If I install overcast mod the game does not crash which led me to believe this is something to do with overcast weather effects. 2. I am reasonably sure I didn't have this problem was when LockOn was different ver 1.02 and/or ver 1.1 (Sorry I have very bad memory) 3. This problem is not the DLL issue with "lockon.exe.local" fix. 4. I did clean windows XP + LockOn 1.12a install but didn't fix. A couple of things I am thinking to try later 1. low graphics card speed (but I never overclocked them) 2. change CPU speed back to stock Any thoughts please?
