Just added you but like RacingMik said your discord is read only. I'm T.O.G.G. Crypstick [52]. Just getting back into DCS and trying to re learn aircraft and systems.

What sort of skill level are you looking for? I'm just getting back into DCS after years away. My sig shows what modules I own. Currently re-learning the A-10C and starting off with the F/A-18C, F-16C and AV-8B.

Ive been trying to install modules and update the 1.5 beta now for a few days, but every time i get this message. And it directs me to a web page to download the Installer/Updater. Is anyone else getting this? How can I install modules and updates?

I decided to have another go of trying to fly the Ka-50. From the start it was crash after crash after crash. I had no idea what i was doing wrong and was about to give up again. Then all of a sudden i had a lightbulb moment............. Stop fighting the controls and as soon as i stopped trying to yank and bank it changed from a hungry tiger into a kitten. This thing loves to fly itself and within a few minutes i was beginning to get the hang of it. I know this isnt a great post with lots of yet unknown ideas, but for me it was a huge moment. I can fly the Ka-50.... Im not brilliant with it and there is a huge road ahead of me to get anywhere near the level of alot of you guys. Still this small pat on the back to myself has made me want to learn more and achieve more with this helo. I can now go and complete all the training flights and easier missions. Never used it even when i had my trusty X-45. Id rather call off the attack and circle round again for another pass than use it. Now i have the WH things are getting better and i dont need to go around as often.

@ Nate: Although not to do with Jtac you can get the tone everyone is mentioning if you use the auto startup. When the ai radio's for permission to start up. After that step you have to turn the radio off. This happens every time you do this.

@ Worther: LAlt + C is mouse look toggle. You could probably map it so you could change between clickable cockpit when needed and mouse look. Also check out freetrack http://www.free-track.net/english/ for an alternative to Tir. I use freetrack with a wii controller and it is stable and costs way less than Tir.

Nice setup m8, got the thrustmaster hotas to replace the x52 then? Just need to change the hat from view to trim and its mapped.

Channels from 4 to 8 on the first dial of the lower VHF Radio are ok, from 9 to 15 give the loud tone. So if you can change the radio channels in the mission briefing you could change it to one that doesnt give that noise.

Watch a few youtube vids on using weapons and tgp. I found youtube really helpful in getting to grips with a lot of aspects of the sim. Also go through the tutorials over and over until basic operations are second nature. Above all just keep practicing. Good luck

Well i just tried those and have a second monitor showing on my sys now. So next is to test the app again, ill report back if i get it working. Edit: ok the software in the link from sebbomanns' post work and do create a second monitor. The additional monitor works in DCS but alas the DCSpanelsclient crashes on my cheap Versus TouchPad 9. With showing my cpu usage checked i can see that the software initialises and the ip and port number are displayed on the android screen, along with the CDU or MFCD Graphics. Just if i try to use the app it stops working Anyone who has a half decent android device shouldnt have a prob. first download install tightVNC http://www.tightvnc.com/download.php Then download install this demoForge driver http://www.demoforge.com/dfmirage.htm Right click on desktop and go to Screen resolution then press detect. Hopefully it should detect another monitor that you can force on using vga. You can then extend your desktop onto the new monitor. Thanks to sebbomann for finding this solution and alphatoomega for the origional post. I hope later versions will work on my device as this is a must have app for android owners.

IMO paying for missions or campaigns that arnt official is taking the pee. Yes they spent time making them, but so do alot of other people. The net is full of excellent free missions, campaigns, video tutorials, pdf tutorials and more. Even the game/sim at its base level is free so why should anyone have to pay for a few training missions? when the information is freely available.

Im in the same boat, ermmm make that same A10. Keep going over the tutorials until using your controller and setup becomes second nature. Also check out youtube for tutorials and tips on various systems. Plus if you can print the bible and read til your eyes bleed. Practice, practice and then practice some more. Ive just about got my hands trained to the HOTAS and following the tutorials over and over for around 2 weeks has mashed the content into my brain. Good Luck
