  1. I stil think it looks more like a Basking Shark, than a Viper snake.
  2. Mine is bound to my Throttle. It works fine.
  3. Being relaxed is important. Really is. When you're learning, and everyone is going: "Just keep at it it will work", and you fail, and get angry, you're getting yourself in a downward spiral of frustration. I shot down a tanker in anger, only to realise two seconds later, that I was on a multiplayer server. Embaressed and logged out. Be confident. And when you make it the first time, you can really start to relax, because you know you did it... and things get easier fast.
  4. Can someone give me a rundown on this laser cooling thing? When is this an issue? I just leave it on, and it works fine. Just an overview? How this laser cooling thing plays with the LASER SWTICH on the left side, the laser measuring distance, and when it guides a Vhikr. I've read stuff about that you should turn it off, and what's the reason for this? Just a summary? :)
  5. Yeah, I've played them. Just thought that maybe there was a library with hundreds of missions somewhere online :)
  6. Thanks. Do you know where to find these campaigns, that have been reworked? I only find campaigns for 1.5.
  7. I only see DCS 1.5 missions and some russian 2.5 missions on DCS site. Anyone know any other sites with lots of new missions? Or has everyone abandoned BS2 for SP missions?
  8. Very weird with the wandering slew. It never affects me. I mostly fly the Black Shark at least 6 hours a week. Almost never experience that bug. Not for the last 6 months at least. I remember it from way back though, and I can recall that sometime the Shkval was weird. But I never experience it now. I have become much more proficient in the Black Shark lately, so I don't know if I´m doing something different, maybe. Or it's a graphics card issue or something? Or joystick bindings + some axis errors, which are gone because of my bindings...dunno... Very weird. I never use the litle knob-joystick on the Thrustmaster. Only the TMS on the joystick. Maybe that has something to do with it. So for me, the BS2 is not broken at all. I love it. I spend 95% of my DCS time in it. The LEDs.. I've gottten used to. Gamma issues and Anti-collision-discolights... don't give a damn. Doesnt bother me. I use Ricardos cockpit, which looks better than the A10 cockpit, if you ask me. With scrateches and all. Love it. (I´m running Open Beta)
  9. I would recommend joining an online wing, one, which has a training program. You'll learn alot quicker, if you have an instructor with you. Just being able to voicechat with people with questions makes it all go alot faster, than posting on forums, and waiting for answers. I've always been able to land stuff easily in FSX and other sims, but never understood tactics and how to deal with targets and do real operations and communications before I joined a squad. Opened up a whole new world for me. And having patient tutors is gold! Are you filling notebooks with notes, only flying the tutorials? Then you are overthinking it. Just do it. :) Oh, and playing the missions which are included in DCS? You should regard them as puzzles to be solved... not real missions, in my opinion. And, as someone said: Stick with one module first.
  10. I ran into this video on youtube, where someone has setup the cockpit with triple monitors I use dual monitors with the Shkval. But I can see on this video, that the Shkval and Abris screens in the virtual cockpit dont show a signal, while there ARE signals on the monitors. My setup shows signal on both the virtual cockpit and monitor. So I see two video signals. Is there a setting, where you can disable the virtual Shkval/Abris view, while enabling the view on the external monitor? I was just thinking to save some framerates.
  11. Feel for you bro. I´ve flown the Black Shark since it came out on and off. Probably about 100 missions. I don't think I've completeded more than a couple. You've got no chance, and this is not how missions are flown in real life. What I did couple of months ago, was to join a virtual squad and started training and playing multiplayer missions there. Handmade missions, which where made to be "enjoyed" and have real briefings and real planning. Couple that with learning communications and tactics with real people, you've got yourself a brand new playable sim right there :)
  12. I was totally frustrated with this a couple of days ago. Shot down the tanker couple of times... even in a multiplayer server (forgot I was online). :) Then after I had let it rest for a week or so, because of frustrations. I took it back up. And suddenly it clicked. From one session to the next. Very weird, but very rewarding. So as they say: Practice, practice, practice.
  13. Yeah, I also saw this in a youtube video, how to align the probe line. They make it look so easy. I´m mostly wobbling around. "Pilot-induced-oscillation", I guess it's called. I dunno.... I just seem sooo way off, compared to what people are doing on videos. But will try a refuel everyday for the next month :) But interesting Curvature setting you have at 30. I have max gone up to 15 or so. So maybe I´m way off. Originally I though that with the 15 cm extension I wouldn't need any curvature at all. That's what I use in my KA-50, which is my main aircraft.
