Can't find or connect to friends server
kaffehtrinkhen replied to kaffehtrinkhen's topic in New User Briefing Room
Thanks BitMaster for your explanation. We tried yesterday again with no luck over mobile Internet. The big disappointment is, that we have 6 people who are rally interested on the game. But they are no computer nerds. After seeing us working a half an hour to start a online mission, they lost the interest. Really disappointing, we brought all our equipment over hundreds of km to our working site... -

I see. We had no access to the router. We tried to play in a hotel. Frustrating, we took our computer and hardware with us on a tour to show the simulation our friends. Hoping too win them for the game. But it looks like my friend is to frustratet to play again. -

Hello, we tried to set up a mission to fly online. But there is no way to find the server. We have used the open beta and the stable version, with 3 different computer. And 3 different WiFi. One a public network and the other 2 we used mobile network. We turned of the firewall completely. Connecting true direct IP didn't work. Google brings up the same problem a hundred times, but no solution. After 7 hours we a close to give up. Does anyone know a solution? Thanks in advance

I play DCS on my XPS 15 (2016) with medium setting. The onboard 960m 2gb gives me 60fps without stuttering. -

DCS: Roadmap (unofficial - NO DISCUSSION HERE)

Dear Silver_Dragon & Admins, I think this thread deserve a better place. Please, is it possible to restart this thread with the 1st to 5th post under ED Forums » English » Digital Combat Simulator » DCS World 1.5 & 2.0 Open Alpha ? Thanks -
Hey, some people just love to fly for hours... Why not a BIG see map? With some nice small Islands. One russian/chinese aircraft carrier, some more us carries. And a big see battle! :-D It should be possible to be made by a smaller 3th. Just as a compromise?!? What do you think?

Hopefully, but it looks like a hardware problem. I have spend 4 hours with reading about this topic. This optimus issue is one of the reason why oculus recommend a desktop. The only way what I see, is to change the oculus resolution to 1600x900 @ 75Hz Sorry Skatzilla, I don't wont to troll, but I need to buy a new laptop. A desktop is not a option for me. And my only reason to spend 1600€ for a n laptop is DCS with VR. That is the background of my request.

This problem (at least for most people having this problem) has been identified as resulting from the Optimus technology. The high performance GPU is not actually connected directly to any of the display ports (not the monitor, not the DP, not the HDMI). https://forums.oculus.com/viewtopic.php?t=13541

Dear Community There is a known problem with the Oculus Rift and the Nvidia Optimus technology. The HDMI output supports only 1920x1080 60Hz. That is below the specification of the DK2. Have one of you ever tried to set the resolution of the DK2 to 1280x720 @ 75Hz or 1600x900 @ 75 Hz? Both 16:9 resolution should work at 75Hz. If not, can someone try this and give me a feedback? Be careful that you Notebook fulfill the DCS recommended specification. There should be still a lagging, because the gpu needs about 20-40ns to copy the data to the igpu. Thx, i am grateful for any test and feedback. PS. I have tried to find some Information with Google, but the keywords just give the wrong answers.
