  1. Beczl has the indiegogo money. The other members of the development team have continued on without it.
  2. Pine, the BRA part gives you their position but not where they are going. The final A, aspect, lets you know where they are headed - and if you are in a vulnerable aircraft like a A-10, your ability to continue your mission might depend on whether or not that enemy CAP is on an intercept course with you.
  3. It seems that ED hasn't updated the installer files they have for download on the website. However, you can get the right files downloaded using DCS World's module manager. Open DCS World and click on module manager. It should list all the available modules, with ones you don't own having a "buy" button and ones you bought and have associated with your account having an "Install" button (which you should use).
  4. The autopilot channels don't affect the actual position of the cyclic - they just have 20% command authority around the cyclic's actual position. When you are in FD mode the channels' command authority is deactivated, but the cyclic position can still be trimmed around. Or if you have not trimmed the cyclic position, the stick will still return to its default position.
  5. Hell yeah, brother, and with a lot less stress! There's nothing more relaxing than orbiting slowly with AP-Alt on, 20 miles away from the target, 25,000 feet in the air, TGP slew controls in one hand and beer in the other, marking off AAA and SAMs!
  6. Haha, that was *exactly* the same time I ran into that problem seikdel! The internal fuel remnant in that mission is apparently juuuuuust enough to get to the broken down truck. Personally, I did in fact remember to flip the external fuel pump switch... but I didn't check my status board, and that was the time I got to discover that the "weapons sys" switch has to be armed for the external pumps to work, apparently.
  7. Yeah, I think bart was slightly sardonically pointing out that the "final release" was not exactly feature-complete.
  8. Oops, uh, yeah, that wasn't the right track file. I've put it on dropbox because it's too big for the forums: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/37638517/wtf%20landing%20fratricide.trk Thanks for taking the time to look. And yeah, I guess that was confusing that I was rambling about BS2, I was just using that as an example of my difficulties with the ol' learning curve.
  9. Getting into DCS world, I quickly learned that some things that at first seemed like crazy bugs or AI glitches were actually just my lack of understanding (e.g.: early on, flying KA-50, trying to figure out why when I'd just be flying along straight and easy and all of a sudden my helicopter would just inexplicably plummet out of the air led to me trying to figure out the bug, which lead me to watching the track, which led me to discover that my KA-50's rotors were strangely short whilst I was plummeting, which lead me to discover what that beeping "MAX IAS" doohickey meant and what rotor clashing was...) So anyway, before I pin this one on idiot wingman AI, I just wanted to upload this track and make sure that I wasn't doing something completely stupid on my landing here. This is the SMERCH hunt mission, which went just fine and dandy until right as I was flaring at the end of the runway my plane fell apart and a spiraled into the dirt. DCS accused me of fratricide and NTSC investigators (me watching the track) determined that the cause of the unplanned aerial disassembly was my wingman deciding he had the right of way on that landing... Edit: Oops, wrong track file. And sorry my anecdote was confusing - this was a A10C landing, not KA-50. I was just reminiscing on my entry into DCS in general. Edit2: Oops, can't upload the right track file anyway because it's 14.5MB... dang. I guess at the end of the day I am in fact the idiot. Edit3: Ok, if anyone is still willing to look, I put the file on dropbox: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/37638517/wtf%20landing%20fratricide.trk
  10. Am I really that dumb? Is there an analog groundspeed gauge? It's definitely doable. I consistently overheat it if I exhaust everything and go back to a FARP for more Vikhrs without waiting for cooling - I often won't be able to get my full load launched.
  11. Are you sure you're actually tuning ADF higher than required? It got me a couple times until I realized that because of the parallax between the dial itself and the marker, it always looked like I was tuning past my desired frequency when I was hitting the right one. Switch between pilots and look at ADF dial to see what I'm talking about.
  12. It was never supposed to have gun ammo. You don't get anything but fuel, it's an emergency relocation. You just book it to the fallback FARP and listen to other units getting hit.
  13. Tried opening and saving the mission. Yup, same problem. Start in the air. Fly along for a minute. Get yelled at for taking off without permission. I really hope I'm not just doing something wrong here. I would feel very dumb. I have attached the mission file. Relocation.miz
  14. So I decided to give the Relocation mission a shot (wherein the player is part of a mixed Havoc/BS flight heading to a FARP along with separate flights of Hinds, MI-8s, and SU-26s). When starting the mission, the game spawned me in the air along with all of the other helicopters, and my ship was in proper position with the Havocs. I assumed this was normal, and started seeing radio chatter from the SU-25 flight taking off. However, after about a minute of flight time, I started seeing chatter directed at me - "251, put your collective down! You're not cleared to take off!" And then, "251, land slowly, take your hand off the collective, and report to me!" And about 10 seconds later, "Mission Fail." I assume that the mission is not supposed to start in the air, but rather on the ground, taking off along with the other flights? I wasn't given any options or anything.
