  1. Is there any footage of the races online anywhere?
  2. Look at the layout of the land and use landmarks. E.g enemy is on that side of the river, safe zone is by the mountains. Look out the window as much as you can. When you go into a target area have a safe exit route/direction planned and have a regular mental check where you are in relation to that exit. Know how you are going to attack something before you do it. Attack it and then exit. Be patient.

  14. Ive just been learning pop up attacks which i have tried to explain below. Im no expert but happy to share what I have learned. It has totally changed the way I play dcs which now feels like a brand new game. If ive made some mistakes feel free to correct me. To learn pop up attacks all you need is training rounds, smoke rockets and nothing else (ditch your tgp). Find a field and fire smoke into the middle of it. Slew your hud onto the smoke (this is your target) and tms up long it. Set your tad so the outer ring is at 5miles. Get about 7ish miles from the target and fly as fast as you can as low as you can (under 100ft). Fly offset to the target. When the wedding cake on your tad is at the 3 o'clock position just outside the inner ring (just over 2.5 miles out) pull up and look for the target it should be just infront of your wingtip, roll onto your side (keep looking at the target it will now be above your head in the middle of the canopy). Pull back on the stick, the target will travel down the canopy, roll over a bit more when the target is coming into your hud so your nose is pointing down (you never want to he pushing up with the stick). Line up your target, you should still be about 2.5 miles away (hopefully just out of range). Shoot that bas@#rd, turn away hard, dump a few flares, jink and get back down to <100ft asap. Keep practicing until you can do it in your sleep and you are comfortable flying low. This is how the a10 was designed to be flown (so ive been told).
  15. Sapphire 6850 and its sh#t
  16. Forgot to say you need to pop some flares in the turn after you fired the gun.

  18. Lol
  19. Anothet way is to conect the ground power asap switch on stuff to start alignment etc. Just rrmember to turn off the griund power once your generating
  20. there are quicker ways as seen the video in this forum but I would still learn the standard way startup first so you can get an understanding of each system. Once you have that its really easy to tweak it e.g. using ground power. The next step would then be to learn an in flight alignment.
  21. Forgot to say.. its nothing to do with badge of honor -your assumption was incorrect. For me its about learning the right way of doung things and learning from your mistakes.
  22. I can see why you are saying not to use sim mode but I still disagree. If you go with game mode you have to relearn everything the second time round. The key is to lower your expectations and be patient. You can also still set unlimited ammo and invincibility in sim mode.
  23. I would follow the manual or one of the many guides on the internet. Try and focus on one system at a time. E.g. focus on understanding what the switches do once you have clicked them rather than just following a list. I focused on learning on my pre flight checklist then just clicked through the rest of the list. Once I understood that I then focused on engine start and then clicked through the rest of the list. Sooner later it all just all fits into place and you understand whats going on. This also allows you to start experimenting with things to see what happens as you have a greater understanding of each system. Just take things on in small chuncks and don't expect to learn everything at once.
  24. Go a10c all the way. Go sraight to sim mode. You can find downloadable profiles for th x52 if you cant just ask, someone will share one with you. Just learn things one step at a time and dont expect to much to begin with. The a10c is the best sim you can buy
  25. I use to do runway starts and the progressed to auto ramp starts when I started playing multiplayer. A year or so on I decided it was time to learn the startup procedure which I now use all of the time. Its loads quicker and it gives you a better overall understanding of the a lot of the systems. It also makes it easier to do emergency restarts in the air
