  1. I hope you get it sorted out mate, I hate piss poor service, just because its "cheap" its not bloody disposable, thats still a hefty wedge.

You shouldnt be able to waiver UK trading standards because you are a Chinese supplier through EBAY. So EBAY should be responsible.

Bahhh, I hope you get a good outcome.

Finally got an email from them, does anyone know a courier that doesn't work weekends. I think this is going to end badly.

New message from: industry-village (7860Green Star)

    Dear friend,

Thanks so much for your email.

We will arrange the new machine for you on Monday, cos the weekend, our courier company do not work on weekend.

Thanks so much for your understanding and patience.

    Best reagrds

I'm like what the fcuk

  2. Here is a heads up: if you buy a laser off them, just be careful. I sent mine back and postal costs were over £50.00, instead of sending me a replacement they have gone dark, not answering emails etc, phone calls etc. (Industry-Village). I have brought ebay into the mix, so atm, I am 300 bricks down on the laser and another 50+ bricks down on the return postage

  3. So even after all that they didn't work? Mine worked really well. Three different sizes and every one worked perfect.

They work now John, I was kicking myself, what was I doing wrong? It must be me!. I was trying to work through the wiring diagram but as Janis says it's totally new to us, so i stumbled on until I asked Hans. I was scared to put 10 volts through an arduino, but now I know they are quite happy with that voltage. Don't heat up much, it was a learning process for me, totally, I had got 2 x 16 working no problems but I could not even get hello world out of the 2 x 20. You just got to cut us noobs some slack. We learn as we go along bro.

  4. Well that went just as I thought it would. Got the 55 inch, 4k, 3d, quad core smart television set up in the living room (wireless access and firewall rules were a bitch to set up), just to check it was working OK. Its awesome, so much so it's staying where it is and gonna have to buy another one for the flight sim. I will have to use my 37 inch until I can find a similar offer.

Wallet has taken a serious shafting this month, with the laser and the new pc for DCS. I am going to be eating grass or hay for the rest of the month.

  5. How about the 20x2 LCD displays...any problems with those reading the same data?

John I could not get mine to work at all on arduino and mega, they were not cheap lcd's, think I paid over 20 uk £ each and I could not make head nor tails out of the information pdf, I thought I was over-volting them until I spoke to Hans and he pointed me in the right direction, I was actually under-volting them, just for others information, dont give up. I have a DC generator box thingy 0-35 volts dc, auto amping, they actually take 10.1 volts before any information shows. Sorry if this is a tangent, just thought should let peeps know, says 5v, supposedly takes up to 7v safely, but realistically it takes 10.1v.

  6. Weeb, well, that is a tough call. even with best outcome shipping back and forth will sure take time. Yes, nowadays when we buy new stuff we learned to expect things to be scratch free and in good working order. Those chinese guys however seem to be very... well , lets call it optimistic (see below) . Someone sure needs to teach them the cost behind sending out knowingly bad stuff, but you probably don't want to be the one - consider whether all this headache and expense with is worth it for you as i'm sure you want to start making parts already.

as i said earlier your machine looks serviceable to me. if the power supply and tube are functioning i would not bother sending it back since there is no guarantee you will get one in better shape. calibration (once you get the DSP) and optic path alignment you will have to learn to do anyways.

absolutely. my test pattern is a 40mm square, i'm measuring the square itself and the inside cut-out with goal of (dim_Inner+dim_Outer)/2 = 40. i'm quite confident i will reach the right numbers. its the out of square that worries me a bit as there is no simple way to put any of the angles i have against the guides. plan to disconnect the Y shaft coupler, adjust by tiny increments and then measure the made part with granite surface plate and gauge blocks.

with that there is more fun stuff from optymistic china tech support.

per their request I emailed them this tube video. after seeing it the tech person is under impression that the issue is with unaligned light path. normally i would laugh

    ADD:

Yey!!! my situation was surprisingly resolved by auto tech. after reading my overnight exchange with the Chinese supplier John sent out his technitian Taylor who dropped off new tube at my place. so now i'm cutting again :D

    well at least for now.

Lol, that video was scarey m8. Glad you got some customer support from the tech guy. I sent mine back today to be replaced, cost £50.06 to ship cos they wanted it by Royal Mail tracked Parcelforce. I have until the 12th of March to hear back from them or I am invoking the money back guarantee and I will take it from there. :)

  7. Ian,

User guide was the first thing I read through as soon as I got my first arduino board. I have looked into developer guide too but most of it is chinese to me anyway. I have looken into both simple and advanced control references but you know - with no programming background it is like reading a book in chinese.

Thanks for your input but what seems straight forward to you is not at all so for me :( Seems the only way is to get on and learn programming.

    Regards,

    Janis

Janis, just keep at it m8, I'm in exactly the same boat. I knew nothing about programming and had little interest in electronics until, 5 people came into my life through DCS. Hans (HMA), FSF(Ian), Gadroc, Boltz and Warhog. Each one played a significant part in getting me into Programming, Arduinos, Chinese knockoffs, lasers, etc etc. I am still in my infancy with it all but once it got a hold of me I just can't stop. If I have a query any of them will help, the support on this forum is extraordinary. I went onto ebay and just bought a huge collection of breadboards, prototype boards, jumper wires, switches of all kinds, rotaries, power supplies, unos, megas, (Chinese ones are cheap as chips) and equally good if you don't mind waiting a week or two. I'm still overwhelmed with it all but I try and make a point of learning at least a couple of new things every day. Who knows? 6 months down the line I might actually become competent in it all.

  8. Weeb, hope you healing up well.

How is the repair project of the cutter going?

I got and installed replacement tube. Gweike had some interesting ideas as far as true meaning of 3 month warranty. But after some back and forth they agreed to replace and send automation tech another tune. AC gave me one from their stock in advance.

Stock tube that came (cracked) in this machine is 720mm, same that goes into small K40. The replacement one is ~ 790mm however, marked as 32W typical. Not complaining as it is a tube length that determines the output, and that added length fits perfectly in rear compartment. So perfectly in fact that it makes me suspect this one is the actual stock.

I'm using a tankless medical air compressor instead of the stock diaphragm noisey joke rattle. With the included nose cone I get nice 25psi of air assist pressure with lots of flow.

Cutting power is very similar: at 80% duty and 6mm/sec vel I cut through 6mm acryl sheet in one pass. although Amp meter readings are quite concerning - 19mA at 80% power seems very high. Makes me wonder how precise is the built in analog meter and how precise was the light object digital one

I am still in process of calibrating the stepper pulse values - not immidiately occured to me but the machine was way off. Got both X and Y to within .05mm which is already not to bad, at this point using the two squares test feels identical on hand. My dad promised to stop by with some gauge blocks and proper measurement equipment this weekend. will be seeing what precision level this thing will hold

My saga is still ongoing, yesterday they contacted me back and asked me to send the damaged one back and they would issue a replacement. Address in the Midlands. It's cutting it very close as due to me purchasing it during the Chinese New Year, 1/2 of my 30 day money back guarantee time had expired even before we had contact. I'm going to parcel it up today, they want it sent Royal Mail tracked which has 2 problems:

    1. I'm disabled and unable to get to the Post Office.

    2. Why the fcuk they expect me to pay the exorbitant cost of returning it but it's written somewhere in the small print that I am responsible for it.

So In all honesty I have no idea how this will pan out. If I send this one back and they give me the rubber ear I am outwith my 30 days so I could get shafted, but I will keep peeps informed how it goes.

One thing to cheer me up, my new 55 inch quad core 3d, curved screen TV has arrived so a mate is gonna come along and help me get it set up.

  9. Just to let you guys know, my dad was taken into hospital just at the the weekend, I was taking my mum to visit him and there was a huge hole in the carpark on the darkside of the card. Let me 75 old mum into car, walked round and under brokenlight there was the ultimate hole and I was moving forward. I'm out of hospital with a couple of plates and pins, just in case you thought i was awol . wadz :(

  10. Absolutely brilliant. I love the su27 with the wheels down full flight. That is like me. You can choose to have fun or get all realistic. I would fly with you guys no probs. I took off with the cockpit hood still open and could not understand where the crack came from, and it hit my wingman. :)

  11. Nice one Neil, and thanks snottus for highlighting it. I read the mail online for dis-information, its kinda plug and throw. I mean it knows about SAS ops before the troupers do. It's been telling us that ISIS are gonna get a kicking in May when they retake that town (which shall remain nameless). :)

Decided to not wait for DCS2 and just go ahead. I priced it up to build myself and I can't even come close to what they are offering. I will ask for bigger power supply, h100 instead of the 80 and I will run the sli'd 970's until I can afford the next gen graphics cards. Gonna stick with windows 7 64 bit until 10 comes out. Should run the last troublesome viewport in the cdu, innit.

  13. I do apologize no insult was intended and i did not intend on speaking down to you or be rude.

Okey Dokey, matter is resolved.Maybe I'm a bit fragile. You are a huge benefit to these forums and I appreciate your input, I know you spend a lot of time in the background, helping others. Consider this matter closed. You are still on my Christmas class list. Stay frosty. :)

  14. Deadman, why are you poking me over semantics, I could pick you up on "Witch" should be which. You have been a great help to me, you don't have to justify yourself in any shape or form to me. You sometimes come across: in this forum as verging on rude. Go check verging on, I'm sure you can find an issue. I for one appreciate your help, but don't talk to me like i am a piece of shit on your heel.

  15. That looks a really sweet machine. I did a search on Alibaba, and got various prices. If it's not being nosey, what did it finally cost all in. By the time I have got my upgrades I will have spent about £650.00 uk that includes initial machine purchase, and I will know a lot more about lasers, I love learning.

  16. Plans for the consoles will be available shortly The cockpit plans are mow in alpha builds one here in the states and one in the EU as soon as any bugs are worked out plans will be available for purchase .

ahh kk I understand, just I have already cut all my wood, just needed the angle' looks like an early bonfire night :(

  17. Deadman, need your help again. I have been using dimebugs plans to cut the right and left console but I have an issue with the maths. Sin/Cos and Tan, in dimebugs plans he puts the angle between outer console and inner console at 18 degrees. His stencils are at 13 degrees and maths says 20 degrees. What is the correct angle between the consoles?

  18. I knew what I was getting into. I think half the fun is learning and developing what I have into a useful platform to complete the tasks that I have in mind.

As Anton said it would appear that:

quote: "we have received payment for your purchase , any problems, reply to this email and we will get back in touch within 8 hrs" 62.5 hrs later still waiting, (4 emails). I am a realist, I will give them until the 23rd of this month (Chinese New Year), raise a case with Ebay, and then rip the innards out and build my own.

Helll! the box and the tube are fine, it's just the clusterf uck of their parts that's an issue. I'll keep you informed as to what and how it goes from here. I'm retired now, money is a glitch not a problem. It might help others who decide to go the cheap way and buy a laser cutter/engraver. If anything I am honest, I will give credit where it is due but I will savage when it's not.

    weeb

  19. I wouldn't consider a RAMPS/arduino for a laser. It will only work well for outlines. The X7 and 608 are great controllers and will allow engraving, cutting at multiple speeds, PPI all in one job. My laser became 10x more useful once I put one in.

Thanks for your support here Gadroc. I bought a machine, I knew it was cheap, but the laser tube costs 3/4 as much as the whole gaff. The outside is solid enuff for me to be happy to buy a 330 quid upgrade. I'm learning, hell I didn't do flight sims a year ago, my dad gave me a shot, hooked,I'm going to make a lot of mistakes but do you know something, I will learn from them, and I look forward to issues, there are people on here that will help you. When you are throwing your own toys of the pram, been there done that, people here understand the frustration., I'm like so chilled waiting for Chinese to get back on the 23rd. We will take it from there.

  20. Hi this unit does not have a sticker on it and is not involved with the O2 system it is COUPLING ASSEMBLY, QUICK disconnect.

The ejection seat is fired by activating a sequence of events with hot gas from theJAU-8/A25 Ejection Initiatiors.

More on the sequence can be found here http://www.ejectionsite.com/acesiitech.htm

The quick disconnect coupling system has
