From presale questions, to shipping packaging, to build quality, to easy of use and setup. WOW. why did I wait so long?

I just completed a full reinstall of window and reloaded DCS. Wanted to give the basic World a quick test before installing the multitude of modules again. Plugged in the TM Warthog, cougar panels etc and find that the buttons copy across. I haven't installed the drivers yet. Under win10 I don't thing that is needed anymore. Is there a way to prevent this/quick work around/any upload good default settings? I have a cockpit full of modules to load up and don't want to go into each one and clear it up. Honestly, I thought this might have been fix since I last use this in 2014... I can't really recall the hacks and whatnot from then.

Hi people, The free weekend sucked me back in to DCS. New world(2.5) and other things have me noting an aging PC. During the free event. RAM went from 8 to 24GB without issue. Today, MAX out the cpu of my mainboard - FX3850. However I've learnt that such a change effects the activation, down to 4 now, with 10 unused de-activation. I need to swap the video card next, will I run in to the same hardware upgrade problem with that? Does it count as a number? I'm trying to upgrade a bit at a time as video cards are $750-1K here in Canada. I'm not sure when they become so $$$? I blame the miners. Cheers.

Heya kids, I did a forum search on wing-man repair/reload and didn't get too far Is it possible to have a un(or)damaged wing-man RTB get repaired and reloaded and rejoin the effort? Seems not, after a recent long day at the office... If so, what command(s) do I need to give to my lazy wing-man slacker guy?

Hi dude, The text plate would be what the "white labels" would be on. In another words one would print of a colour "photo" of the panel and 'glue' that photo on to the plywood or plastic that the switch are mounted to. Else, you could use a label maker (P-Touch) with a white on clear label... OP: I am interested to see how you tie in the toggle switches in to the the PC. Of all of the panels I think that was smartest choice to start with. Best of luck

You're correct sir, something funny with my Firefox setup. The link appears fine in Chrome. Thanks for verifying

Ya I saw that and that's the one I followed. Perhaps someone could post a barebones link or text doc for import. I'm simply trying to just get the radio commands working

Thank you all, Currently just setting this up. On the link above, I find that the DCS A-10 fish profiles 20111002, Profiles for VAC, TM Cougar, TIR5 with clip pro. Link appear to be either unavailable or faulty or I've had too much beer... Perhaps there is another location for profile which one could use to aid in setting up? *As noted in Gerry's "settin up VAC" video @2:45 I have no profile to choose from :( Oh wait, creating a new on anyways...

HaYa I found a burning hole in my pocket in past few months but my in game experience has somehow dramatically improved with the HOTAS Warthog, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR5, Sennheiser PC363D and Local Craft Beer

Airport manners, such as refilling the coffee pot!! Got it! In my SP I've just been setting the HSI for the runway orientation as an alternative. Never thought of the sat view... Guess that is why I've gotten turned around on the taxiways.

thanks for the feedback. a niffy app that teamspeak, but found myself talk to nobody a lot!! Then I was reminded (in chat) that I had it set up as a PTT D'oh! A quick y/n as I still need to review more of the settings but is there a way to boost just the TS over the other audio in the headset? Anyways, did manage to get on for a short review/training type mission with a few fellas. Was a fun hour or so. Was nice to see my setup worked well enough. beers!!

Canopies aren't so good as an alternate/back-up air-break then eh?

Hi All, I am planning to give MP a try this weekend but to be honest I don't really know much about it and am not really sure where to take off from:megalol: not funny I know... My main thing at this point is the lack of a mic'd headset, it seems needed so I plan on picking up one later this week (tips?), but beyond that, is there any supporting software, setup, hacks or 'apps' that are required/recommended? BTW Where do some of you helpful folk go? Keeping in mind that I'm only a few months in to this amazing sim and am NOT looking for my xbox(1) log-on die, log-on die, log-on die, log-on die, log-on shoot then die, log-on die, type of weekend!!

Thanks OP, I'm starting to look for something now so that I might try the online stuff! So this is great!! ChEeRs All! What of cordless headsets? is it worth looking at cordless headsets? Note: I work in a very loud environments so the stupid Hi Fidelity ones are not much use due to some/future hearing loss. Ideally I am looking for one which the TrackIR headset pro thingy is incorporated/compatible or one that the pro thing could plug in to for its power requirements? Failing all that can fit over a peeked hat later

Dude, I googled image searched this much quicker than that .(try: dcs a10c nose wheel indicator). plus I'm not really sure how to do a screenshot whilst in the program, else I would have I didn't mean to step on any toes. Just trying to help a fella out. As I too am new here and too have odd ball questions If it's your image, a PM would have been a polite way for a reminder vs derailing this thread Will edit that post to give said credit. As I didn't confide that the image was subject to copyright My apologies to the OP and to the image owner

Can't turn when trying to taxi Insert button will turn this indicator on. as show in this googled image just below the "Fire Pull" handle. Quick edit This image was googled and is a screen shot of A10c by Yurgon from Germany (so sorry my friend)

What was your learning process for this aircraft?
Poutine replied to Pajeezy's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I have a bit of background in terms of the flight fundamentals, from many many years ago, that much I skipped over... then realized I have forgotten much. So I started with all the training, take off and landing 1st.. Added the basic weapon training (+landing) then move though until I felt ok enough to try the instant missions. I got overwhelmed (spring 2012) but this past December I came back to try this sim again to give it an honest go I started with the first easy instant action mission and did that mission over and over until I was able to get back safely. I did that one a lot. Then something magical happened. I found this forum & YouTube... Soon after some new gear arrived :| I have since moved along doing the same thing. Doing each instant action mission to safe completion. And just last night, I load up the "hard" instant action for the first time, and well, lost a wing... So I'll tackle this one then look towards the campaigns etc... I figure I should be able to complete the instant action before for going online I'm at about 60hr in worth of training and playing about: trying to get this and that to work (TrackIR). driving around the airport etc I found the manual to be only OK. But like I said that is where searching this forum makes life easier. Post-it on the monitor help too Meanwhile, I'm still learning lots, trying different tactic; and as a sidebar I'm also shopping to get me a mic'd headset for MP.... later -
What is the indicator below the slip ball? A bank indicator?

thx Kaiza for your excellent description. I couldn't find anything on it That said my thinking was pretty close. -
I wondered what "M/" meant So I went over the set up in the Guided Bomb Training again and followed along up to where the lesson swaps the TAD page and the lesson goes on. Took a quick peak at the DSMS page and noticed that the "VIEW PRO" had all of the settings that were registered by the "lesson/instructor" for the GUB-12 were lost. If the program can see the input why isn't is saved? S'pose I'll unplug this new gear and give that a whirl...

Hi all, First post here... but have been peeking here for a while So, Thought I'd give this sim another try over the holiday break (had bought it 5/2012 and got overwhelmed: I blame the MS Sidewider2) and well, have been immersed in it ever since. So much so that in the last 30 days I picked up the TM HOTAS, Saitek combat pedals and expect a TrackIR5 in the mail this week. SO thank you all for making me broke jk Anyways, To get up to speed, I've been using the training lesson and solely running the Easy - East Georgia - Spring mission until I am comfortable with the basics, else I'd revisit the training lessons when my piles of notes fails me... As such I've been pretty much setting up the GUB-12 just like in the training mission Just a prior to the latest update I was finding that the guided bomb (GUB-12) kept missing the targets by a significant mark. I quickly discovered that the my settings were not being saved in the weapon profile page after I set it up. Typical setup Mousing/clicking sequence: -DSMS Status Page via the OSB or HOTAS -Select a GUB-12 weapon (one of both) -PROF via OSB1 -MODE CCIP to CCRP via OSB10 and verify -CHG SET via OSB16 -AUTO LS set to ON -LS TIME I've been setting 11 or 22 (same button: Yes I"m that lazy..) -SAVE Life goes on from there Here is what I am finding: What I need to do the above steps (or similar) process a few times before it takes. eg When I change CCIP to CCRP and it shows CCRP on the display I select SAVE and move to another page and back. The setting had reverts back to CCIP. I repeat this two or three time and then the setting is set and all it good. I had hoped that the updated release would have fix this but it didn't. I'm m not sure how to resolve this as it interface looks to be working but the setting is not being saved in the software. Has anyone in this community had similar issues with this minor annoyance?
