  3. I've heard rumors that ppl can't get past a certain rank unless they have been court martialed. As the recipient of 2 Big Chicken Dinners... you didn't miss much. Back on track.... DONE! I'm currently dusting off the modules I've purchased and never flown, shove them aside and make room for the next trailer queen! :smilewink:
  4. TrackNoIR has a calibration function that addressed this issue. Maybe your software has the same?
  5. I use TrackNoIR. TIR 5 was around $150.00 the last time I checked. I'm a craftsman so a 30 bone DIY vs. a new TIR 5 unit was a no brainer. I have a 3 IR LED box plastered to the side of my Logitech G930 with velcro that is plugged into the wall. ( I did think twice before I plugged it in the first time! ) The camera is a PS3 Eye cam with a chunk of 3.5" floppy disk behind the lens to filter out everything but infrared. Honestly, I feel that it is sub-standard to TIR 5. Make no mistake, my unit works at 120 FPS, but TrackNoIR is one step shy of the TIR 5 level. So my advice to you, if you're serious, is to purchase TIR 5. Or whatever TIR doesn't require batteries to be replaced. Why no batteries? Because sometimes, 3 hours in the pit isn't enuf and it sucks having to quit "smoting your foes on the mountain side" to fix a peripheral.
  6. Thanks 104th for another awesome event! I had a blast! And thank you Alpenwolf for doing GCI. For myself, I can say that it is my lack of playing a fighter role that led to my early demise. 104th_Maverick is talented for sure, but when a kill just flops into your lap... I'd take it too! After the call "Bandit on yer 6" I rolled right and lit the stove. I probably got the attention of all inbound IR ordinance at that moment. sitting at home in my chair I could've bought more g's but I was thinking of conserving energy so close to the deck. All jesting aside it was a good kill Mav! I'll see you again.
  7. Sponsors This is a fantastic idea! My skill set puts me firmly in the "participant" area of helping out, but I have a few ideas for sponsors to reach out to. CH Products, Thrustmaster, Mad Catz, video card, motherboard, RAM card manufactures, Saitek... its a HUGE list that mainly covers our peripherals needed to operate. Videos covering the DOTA 2 championships could provide ideas for more sponsors to reach out to. Another thing to consider would be how to get public interest. Main stream media commercials tops the list, but so does its bill.

A great big thank you to the 104th and friends for putting these events together! Your liquor locker is safe from the Pirates of the Crimean Mate! ( Maybe.... LOL! )
  11. Did I miss the link to who the Aggressors are? If not, can they be listed on the roster too?:pilotfly:

  13. For using all the same units on both Red and Blue, place Russia with USA on one side, USAF Aggressors on the other. This gave me all the planes and all the units available on each side. Of course, this has to be done prior to the start of the mission editing. Please follow above for reference.
  14. Belay my last. I reviewed the track and I didn't use my radar on that one. Guess I got excited!
  15. IFF help I have been experiencing this myself lately. Team kills are piling up and this needs to stop. I went thru the noob growing pains learning how to properly IFF with the 27. While I am still new(ish) to implementing the 27 effectively, I have confidence that my last TK was not from my lack of skill. The mission has Blue and Red fighters heading to the same bullseye location. Took off on track to Bulls, angles 6 in the 27. Apon discovering several enemies apporaching I disengaged radar, engaged EOS and went for the mountains. With each lock of the EOS, I would turn on radar and check AFR/A for IFF. One popped up as "A", the HDD recognized it as enemy and was coming from the direction of the opposing team. He was high and cruising fast with no ECM. Needles to say, after he was splashed I received the TK message as was subsequently kicked. I feel like I did everything properly, outside of announcing my intentions to my target. My next tactic is to hard lock then type into the team chat "Raygun" and wait for the response. ( I use TS religiously BTW, many do not ) Does anyone have any advice?
