Hey folks, the mini stick on my warthog throttle stopped working. With or withour TARGET Profile, the Device Tester shows no movement in the axis and so did no Game register the axis input. Last time i did a uninstall and reinstall. Somehow i did something different this time, because it didnt work. When i uninstall the drivers the target software still recognizes the throttle and stick. Has anyone similar experience with the warthog mini stick? Any suggestions? any help? i contacted the warthog support, however, last time they responded a blasting 22 days later.... a premium product and they need one month for a f****** email....

WAAAAAAAAAH!!!! I found my stupid Error.... I just used the Export.Lua inside of the DCS directory. Now i created a Scripts Folder inside of the Users Saved Games Folder, put it there and everything is fine. So stupid .... But also stupid from Eagle Dynamics to ignore the Export.lua inside of the DCS Folders.

Thanks, but this line was allready commented in Master CptZeens latest lua. another thing, if i comment out all of the debugging lines, there should be a file generated with Debug Informations. This also doesnt happen. Looks like the Export.lua isnt used at all. Edit: oh and as a sidenote, i testet Helios with Falcon BMS. Works like a charm so it seems like my problems are somewhere down in the lua files.

Hi folks, after a Harddrive Crash im back into DCS. Now i tried to setup Helios again but it seems like i didnt get any Export at all. I used the latest Export.lua from CaptZeen from here http://www.captzeen.com/helios/downloads.asp for the Tests i used the Helios Pit from Loz and i build also a simple one on my own with just an IAS inside. I also setup DCS via the ProfileEditor and tried starting as Admin, but no joy so far. Any Ideas or Help here?

Ah thanks, that explains also how i can change the painting ;)

I will practice so you have a hard time shooting me ;) Oh and yes the mixture setting was in full emergency, according to a advice from someone in an earlier post. Now i dont touch the mixture setting, only in emergency situations ;) And another question, i moved the fuel switch to the fuselage tanks and a few seconds later the motor stops. Fuselage tanks are full, so what did i miss this time? oh boy, im used to pilot F-16 in BMS so i was thinking that the pony is a really simple aircraft from a avionics point of view. Now i really feel which tasks you dont have to do if you have fly by wire and all that fancy stuff like gps and so on.

Ok returned from my test flight. Aaaaaaand *drumroll* 38.500 feet :pilotfly: The speed was that thing i underestimated, never fall below 165 and all is fine. 165, 2700RPM and manifold of 46 as long as you can hold it, climb rate is the result of that variables. finally i get it, thank you very much guys!

Thanks for the chart, i will try but im not sure if this helps to overcome the basic problem. According to this chart im climbing way to slow. This means it would take me more time to get higher, but the basic problem still is that there is no more power at 15k. Or do i get something wrong? Shouldnt i be able to build up speed in level flight at 14.500 feet? Currently even if i have all on maximum, RPM and manifold i still loose speed. As soon as i push my nose down i build up speed but only to loose it again slowly until i climb to 15k again. btw. version is 1.5 if this makes any difference.

Ok here comes the Screenshot: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9B9pg2Dkt5tYlJRemhvMHZ5SDg during the climb my goal was to keep manifold pressure at 41 and a climb rate of 1000 feet. Well the Speed is the Problem, i cant climb any further because the speed drops to 120 mph or below. I also cant build up speed again unless i trade off height for speed, but then as soon as im back up at 15.000 feet my speed is 120 again. oh and i dont use any mods and this is a mission with just the pony in it, nothing more to practice basic flight manouvers.

Hi folks, when i try to climb as high as possible i cant climb above the magic 15.000 feet. No matter what i do, full RPM, full manifold... nothing seems to speed me up that i can climb any further. So whats your strategy to climb as high as 20. - 30.000 feet?

let me report my record so far: my goal was to do a nice flare with an even nicer 3 point landing. currently i did 10 test flights with following results: nice landings with no or very small bumpings 10 crashes 0 :pilotfly: since i did a much better flare and as a result have the stick back on touch down, and hold it in this position until the plane came to full stop, i didnt crash a single time, worked on first try. Thank you very much lads! I will do a few more just for the sake of pushing my ego up again and then i start working on crosswind landings. by the way, whats the limits for 90° crosswinds?
-
since im piloting motor gliders in RL the flare procedure was one of the first things i tried. In such kind of plane you gently pull the stick back as the plane slows down until you have it full pulled back, a few centimeters above the ground and wait until the plane touches down. Maybe i need some more practice for the flaring but when i tried this with DCS the 51 was bumping up and i was jumping around like a grasshopper until i crash. So currently very short before touch down (3 point) i center the stick. Then you will only bump if you are still too high when then plan settles down.

Oh and thank you for the very kind answers. I just saw an thread dedicated to landing and ground physics where my questions (should) be answered also. I know many forums where i just get an link to the Post and a comment like "first read then start asking questions...." So thank you for your advice its very apreciated!

thanks fo the tips. i will try it today. so tactics are: do a straight touch down without slipping. stick neutral on touch down. as soon as plane sattles, move stick back. and very carefully corrections with rudder and even brakes if things go wrong. thank you very much, lets see if im able to survive now

Hi folks, im trying to master the TF51d, before i will buy the P51. Well im allready managed to do the startup and a quite good take off. But im struggeling on landing. I dont know what im doing wrong. Im managing to do a good straight touch down, without much bumping. Then the plane slows down maybe 10 seconds or so, but then starts to break right, i try to conquer that with left rudder but always the plane moves to the left, no chance to stop that movement, even if i hit full right rudder, and it crashes. i dont know what im doing wrong, why does it break right and what to do against that. frustrating.....

Helios Help for Black Shark
Delareon replied to Delareon's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
For everybody who might have a similar problem: My fault was to not use the Advanced Option: "Bypass Cascading Triggers". Now it works like a charm and i can continue with my Helios Profile :smartass: -
Hi folks, im trying to do a full ramp start ready helios profile for Black Shark 2. Can anybody explain me how to proper setup a Guard switch? For example The Battery 2 Switch. What i have done: - using an Guarded 2 Way Toggle Switch. In the Input Tab: - set position: to trigger value when electical battery 2 on dcs black shark changes - set guard position: to trigger value when electrical battery 2 guard on dcs black shark changes In the Output Tab: - position one entered: set electrical battery 2 on dcs black shark to 1 - position two entered: set electrical battery 2 on dcs black shark to 2 - guard up: set Electrical Battery 2 guard on DCS Blackshark to 1 - guard down: set Electrical Battery 2 guard on DCS Blackshark to 2 What happens in Game: if i use the switches inside of the helios pit it sound like they are double clicked. If i use an switch (specially the guard) inside of the game i get an endless loop with guard up and down.... dont know what im doing wrong here.
