  1. How do you enable/disable them via Mission Editor? I just call the Ground Crew to install them and a few seconds later, they tell me they installed NVGs and they are available. But maybe i activated them somehow by accident.
  2. Not sure if this is reportet allready so i will do it anyway. Thanks to Schmirco i found out how to select a proper Channel there. But according to the Manual/Pocket Guide this selected Channel should be displayed in the ODU but this stay at Channel zero. ILS Guidance works its just the display which doesnt work as described in the Guide. Steps to Reproduce: Click on AWL Click on Number 5 (Batumi) Click on Enter. Click on ON Result the Number 5 is still displayed in the Scratchpad (which is Ok i assume) but in the ODU nothing changed, still Number Zero there.
  3. Ah thank you very much! Now i get a positive ILS Guidance. The Channel displayed in the ODU is still zero, i think thats a bug according to the pocket Guide. But at least the AWL works.

    How to AWLS

Hey, as in the Pocket Guide (Page 56, 57) i tried the following to get the ALWS to work: Starting in Batumi. Pushed the AWL Button on the ODU Channel 0 is displayed. According to the Guide, this means no channel selectet. No i entered 5 (channel for Batumi according to the lua file) in the scratchpad and pressed the Button next to the ODU Input field and in any different way i can think of. Nothing cappens the Channel displayed in the ODU will not change. Anybody allready found out how this thing works? I couldnt find any information if this is not functional to date, so i thought it will work somehow.
  5. Not sure if i should report this as a Bug or its just a Configuration Problem. The Warthog Idle Cutoff Position seems to have no effect on the Harrier. For the Startup you need to move the Throttle a bit and then back again to bring it out of Idle Cut Off in Game. houldnt that be just moving out of Idle Cutoff and to turn Engines Off back again into Idle Cut Off? Like in the A-10 and so on?
  6. I would really appreciate that but i dont think this will happen until Caucasus is transfered to 2.1 with a proper Testing phase. This is my first Pre Purchase, so will the Planes usually become available in the Stable Version of DCS before the Module itself is considered finished? Because i would assume this Plane will stay a while in Beta Phase. No Problem with that i just dont like the fact that you have to reconfigure everything between the Versions which makes fine tuning of Axises and so on a bit of a pain if you allready know you have to do it again.
  7. I would suggest to do use the Generic Mod Enabler for this and a bit of WinMerge. With this Software you can just update your files automaticly again. In most cases without any hand made modifications. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/Miscellaneous/Generic-Mod-Enabler.shtml
  8. Well even if its a very very minor Missing Feature plz RAZBAM dont forget about closing and opening the Canopy via the Canopy Handle in the Pit. At least in the Final Release since there are way more important things to implement first. For me this was just the fist thing i realized when i did my first VTOL Crashes :D
  9. This is also the first Pre Purchase for me, so my question is: How can i find out if this Plane is available for Download without starting DCS every 5 Minutes? :D
  10. He He, thats a nice idea :D So to get out of the Quote stuff, i try to answer all the things without quoting all of you. Dont take this personal im just lazy ;) My Theory is that this Plane is not as specialized in AG as it could be and also that its not very convenient to not have ILS bars in the HUD. For the ILS stuff: While having no ILS bars in the HUD might not be such a big deal in RL as it is in a simulator where you have to move your head to check any instrument or the surrounding, maybe thats different in VR, i dont know, all i say is that im not happy with this and it would be much easier for the Pilot if he has the information where he need it, in front of him. To clarify this again: im able to land via ILS in this plane even if i have to check instruments where my opinion is it would be way better to have that information in the HUD. And i mean it would be more convenient to have it ALSO in the HUD, not that the HUD is the only thing you are allowed to look at and you have to die without. Somebody mentioned you shouldnt look outside of your plane before the DA/DH. The Decicion Altitute is not meant to be the only time you are allowed to look if you can see ground. Its the LAST and final moment where you have to check and decide if you continue or abort. Dont come with arguments like you shouldnt look outside of your plane all the time in instrument flight. Because you shouldnt and i didnt say you have to fly VFR in IFR conditions. Sometimes i think there are so many people here which just think about 0 and 1 solutions. If i say the infos should be in the HUD, somebody tells me that you will die when the HUD is damaged, if i say you should check if you can see the ground in ILS landings someobdy tells me you have to look at the instruments. I never said you should do sight seeing, you have to check it from time to time not all the time and this is much easier if you can keep your head up. Somebody say "Airplanes dont care about convinience". Well the plane doesnt care but the people constructing them should and they do, thats also an security aspect to reduce workload. Someone statet the F-18 has no ILS at all?? couldnt believe that, can you point me to any sources? I saw some videos of carrier landings with ILS Bars in the HUD. To the "no proper AG Plane Topic" What i would expect the A-10 to be? Well my thoughts where this plane is a modern Jet, produced in a somewhat similar time than the F-16 was with many upgrades in between on both planes. So my thoughts where if the F-16 was constructed with the Pilot in Mind the A-10 should be somewhat compareable. Ofc not in every aspect but in the systems they have in common and used to achieve the same goal. Well it is true, sometimes i fly this thing like an F-16 with a big gun, just because i have many hours in the F-16 and just a few in the A-10. A lot to learn. But i was thinking that this Plane should be able to operate on its own in a combat enviroment independent from ground support or weather conditions. Someone statet you can drop JDAMs and stuff in Bad weather you just need the coords. True Story. Now i know how to get them for an upfront planning. But what i say is you have no chance to get this coords just with your sensors in Bad Weather. And i define Bad Weather as something you cant use your TGP, because of fog, snow heavy rain, clouds or whatever. As soon as you can use the TGP, there is no Problem but without your pretty much blind. Thats the reason i was saying that you shouldnt take off in bad weather with this plane. Not beacuse of the ILS landings but i dont see a point in taking off with a combat air plane when you cant find any targets to shoot at but maybe the AA stuff can find you instead. Maybe im just wrong in thinking the plane should be able to operate on its own. Maybe its just mandatory to have somebody on the ground, finding and marking targets for you. In this case the A-10 has everything it needs.
  11. Well, try a ILS Landing with an proper Plane (e.g. F-16) where you can do it with the HUD then we can talk again buddy. I dont say im not able to do it with the Instrument its just not very convenient and no you dont do an ILS Landing completely Heads Down, simply because you need to find out if you can see the Runway/Ground allready and you can now land visually or do a missed approach. This is especially true in a Simulator where you cant check your surroundings without directly looking at it. So you have to scan the instruments, then look up, can i see the ground? no? check Altitute, still above decicion altitude? yes? scan again... and so on while you just can look forward and have all you need without any Head Movement. And ofc, you need a JTAC which gives you coordinates and stuff, but you cant do it on your own. While when in a lesser specialized Plane i can do it alone. Im mising basic stuff like an AG Radar to accomplish such an task. So if you see this Plane not as an specialized AG Plane but as an specialized "Troops in Contact Supporter" things change a bit. nevermind, i was thinking the A-10 is more versatile as an AG Plane but it isnt. Still fun to play, my expectation just where different from what this plane is.
  12. Well its not funny to do ILS Landings in this Plane due to the fact that you have to do a Heads Down Landing. But anyways, since i read the answers in my other Thread where i asked how to bom with JDAMs in Bad Weather, where the conclusion is...well you cant really, i dont see much of a point to take off in bad weather with this plane. When you cant see your target you cant fight it. And this plane is lacking Sensors to find and fight targets you have no visual contact. Pretty sad for a specialized AG - Plane i think. The F-16 is much more versatile in AG even if its "just" a multirole fighter and not specialized.
  13. Hey, i think i allready know the answer but i ask it anyways: is it possible to display the Glidepath information in the HUD? With an F-16 Background its kinda ugly to scan all the instruments, including the HUD, when you know it would be so easy if you can just have that 2 bars in the HUD.

    HUD shape

Depends, i can live with a minor wrong shaped HUD as long as the Systems are simulated in good Quality. And the rest of the Plane is also in a good functional shape.
  15. No in my case its not a USB Powermanagement thing. The Lights on the Camera are still working it just freezes. For the one how asked for Power Settings: Access Power Options (e.g., by typing ‘Power Options’ in the search bar of Control Panel) Click on ‘Change power plan settings’ on the power plan that is being used (has a bullet ticked) Click change ‘Advanced power settings In popup box, double click on USB settings and on USB selective suspend, then click on ‘Enabled’ and change to ‘Disabled. Works for everything you have plugged in. I had some problems with the Thrustmaster MFDs in the past because of that. A Download Link would be nice to an older TIR Version, to have a workaround. But the promise that this issue will be fixed would be way better. I had also problems in DCS 2.x, seems like they merged something back into the Release Branch which is responsible for this problems.
  16. Using older Versions of a Software isnt a solution thats a workaround. There are no problems with any other software so it might be interesting to fix the issue.
  17. Gnaaaaaaah! What a stupid noob fail.... Thanks to all of you guys for the support. Everything works now....ofc.... :music_whistling:
  18. short German answer: Danke das wär nett, dann finde ich vielleicht meinen Fehler. Hopefully its just a user error, can you also try to open the Testmissions i provided and check if you can see any Waypoint Actions?
  19. No nothing. Its like, you want to look to the right, head moves a bit and then just stops. No messages nothing. Only if i kill the Track IR Process via Taskmanager i can restart Track IR, which is then no longer recognized by DCS (also no message inbetween). Killing and retart Track IR process and then restart DCS is the only thing which helps. which is rather annoying in the middle of a flight. i will try to find steps to reproduce but no joy so far. Sometimes i have a message that DCS cant recognise Track IR then a few milliseconds later the message that it found Track IR again. But since one of the latest updates i didnt get that message again so i dont think thats the same error.
  20. Dont forget the "Pilot Factor". The good thing, especially with Plnes in this timeframe, is that the Pilot makes a plane a good Fighter or a bad Fighter (or any other role you can think of). Lets say the 109 is far superior against the P-51, if the 109 pilot is a rookie and the p-51 pilot is good, then this technical fact doesnt count. Especially in this WWII timeframe the pilot factor is extremely important and in most discussions not a topic just because of technical chit chat.
  21. Thank you very much, such a simple solution i should have seen that by myself allready.....
  22. oldest Version i can get on the Naturalpoint Website is 5.3.0. Latest Version is 5.4.2. Are you sure your Version is 5.22?
  23. Well i think getting coordinates from Missionplaner is currently the only really viable option for that kind of operation. You cant open Missionplanner in Multiplayer? Going below the Cloud wont help if weather is bad enough. A few clouds and rain is not really bad weather, im talking about night and heavy fog or something like that, you wouldnt go low level in such type of weather because if weather is good enough to go that low, its good enough to use TGP. I dont think thats a real option to put yourself into danger while heavily loaded when you are carrying GPS Guided Bombs which just needs some GPS Coordinates. Even a Kamov in Multiplayer is no option because im talking about a weather where you wouldnt take of in a helicopter. What im searching for is a method to plan upfront. Bombing a Bridge or other Buildings isnt a type of Mission you would do without precice planning. Its just not a "oh theres a Target lets bomb it" type of Mission Its a shame that you cant do precicion waypoints as easy as in BMS. Seems to me that in this case DCS is a bit behind BMS. That i need something like a JTAC to get Coordinates for enemy troups is absolutely ok but the position of buildings, bridges and so on should be possible to get upfront even in multiplayer.
  24. Do you use Target Software for shifting? currently trying to avoid Target as long as i can do it without.
  25. Im using a Warthog Throttle and Stick. In the P-51 im using the left Throttle for the Power Setting so i think i will use left Throttle for Nozzle Control in the Harrier since i want to save the Friction Control for zooming. But this may change when i get my hands on this Baby and find out about all the other things which might need some Axis. Radar Elevation maybe. simply dont know until im familiar with the Harrier Avionics. gnah....i want this plane NOW..... :pilotfly:
