Ka-50 autopilot buttons color/animation wrong.
Delareon replied to D4n's topic in View and Spotting Bugs
This lighting problem is everywhere in the Game, not just in the KA-50. Maybe it will solve the in Cockpit problems, i dont know but for sure it will not solve the problems outside of the pit. Makes low light situations not playable at all, regardless the Module you are using. But thats reportet allready through so many threads. I hope this Game Breaker gets the attention its needed. -
Hi, No matter what i try, if you take a look at the Task Manager the Graphics Card is always at 100%. Even in the lowest Settings there is no change, always 100%. Currently Frames are good in Max Settings and except the known Bugs no real Problems but im a bit curious. In 2.2 i was able to reduce the load for the Graphics card somewhere between 60% - 80%. Looks like a thing which can result in a Performance Problem in the long run. My Graphics Card is a GTX 1070 with 8GB VRAM. Anyone else experiencing the same?

You where way too low for an approach. But anyways, international standards might differ and the examples from the videos are very extreme and should just stay as an exception, not the standard. For the one with the hill in the approach you need a special training before you are allowed to land there. There are no real world wide rules ragarding Airport standards and many other things in aviation so i can tell only from Germany where i have to maintain a small Airfield for Gliders and small Airplanes. Those Tree may be no problem, even for German standards. Even if i agree that this is better than obstacles you might see very late, like wires or a fence (like i experienced once), the Airpot authority needs to remove it or cut it down. They may not allowed to do this on their own but i can tell from experience, they are responsible for it and the local politics starts.... I would really suggest to try a more or less 3 degrees approach, its also easier than the thing you tried here.

gnaaaaah, thanks for the help. But plz ED turn lights off again...

In the P-51 (Daytime Mission 15:00 o'clock) there is a yellow light, lighting up the bottom of the Pit as seen in the Screenshot. Could be somehow caused by the sun but its static, no matter which direction you turn, this light always stays.

Thats a Problem i experienced in every of the Versions, so i thought its time to report it. Maybe you can do something about it. In most of the cases when there is an Update it happens as following: First the Updater does his Magic, downloading, unpacking and so on. But when the Updates are finished the "Shutting Torrents Down" Window came and doesnt go away until i kill the Task. After that everything is fine so i wouldnt consider this critical by any means but its annoying. As i said, this happens in any version, last time this happens to me after the 2.5 Update where finished and with just a few exceptions it happens with any Update in any Version.

There are massive performance Problems and Bugs like you cant see anything at night. Well so the essence is: No currently it doesnt work in DCS 2.5 but there are workarounds, which probably help to get around until ED fixed this.

Hey, ED is aware of this and its allready reportet. Take a look at this Thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=200803

There is now a flag in the settings, "Scale UI" or some similar wording (doesnt have DCS in front of me). Have you tried to check this setting?

Is the Folder .../Saved Games/DCS.openbeta/metashaders the correct one to delete?

Deffered Shading reduced night visibility to almost zero
Delareon replied to Delareon's topic in View and Spotting Bugs
Exactly. Thanks for adding the screenshots. Turn DS off and you have a night experience as before. Might be brighter than it should be but as a workaround...... Also other people have the same problem and im quite sure thats not the only other thread about this topic: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=200803 -
Hi, in 2.5 (same as in 2.2) as soon as you turn on Deffered Shading, you cant see anything in front of you. While im totally fine if night visibility isnt that good, its dark after all, the taxi lights should be able to light things up in front of you, at least a few meters. Also Flash light, like in the Harrier is so weak you cant find a button in the pit when its dark. With Gamma Settings you can reduce the mess but its still not really playable at night. since the 2.5 looks so amazing in a day mission with deffered shading on (and really ugly if its off) this bug makes the experience even worser. please please please do finally something about it.

+1 for the better experience through Headtracking. Bottom Line is that you will not be able to see that center MFD nicely even with Track IR as long as we dont know if you can hide the Stick in the F-18. As you can see in every Plane with a Center Console, the P-51 for Example, Harrier and so on. You cant take a look at the switches without pulling the stick to the left or the right, which is totally fine as long as you are on the Ramp ;) @Tango777 I dont know about the Track IR Alternative you are talking about but from my experience those alternatives always come with one or the other downside. Depends on you if this is worth it. MY personel suggestion for you is: go and buy a Track IR. Maybe one version older (Track IR 4) if you can get this that cheeper. But its in all cases worth the money. For DCS and of you play any other Games like Arma you will also have a much better experience. Before i had Track IR i thought: why pend so much money on something you can do just with a Hat on the Stick, but since i have it i think "How could i play without it". So i would suggest to buy Track IR and wait a bit longer for the F-18 until you have the money for it again than the other way around.

i wouldnt buy anything before i gain a bit of experience if its really needed. So far i assume that i need to extract that 3rd MFD to the 2nd Screen at least. Just to be able to see it correctly because the Stick seems to be in front of it. Then at first i will use some modifier for the use of the Thrustmaster MFDs. Some switch at the Warthog but currently not sure which switch until i have a plan which other funtions i need on the switches there.

Well i totally understand why the Hornet cost a few bucks more. Much more complex System n stuff. But if this is the reason why the Hornet costs much more, why is the a "simple" WWII Plane like the Spitfire just 10 bucks cheaper than the Viggen and 20 bucks cheaper than the Harrier? If the more complex Systems are the reason im totally fine with it but that price policy assumes that the complex systems arent such a great factor at all. Dont get me wrong, i allready preordered the Hornet but the arguments arent that logical to me if you take a look at the whole picture.

scratches in these Canopys are realistic and there should be some. I flew a glider once where you couldnt see anything as soon as te sun was in front of you because of the scratches. But the Canopy was old and has to be changed for a new one. The thing is to find somehow a way to show some scratches but not too much that you still can see clearly through. In the Screens i saw this is the case, you have scratches which give you the illusion of a closed canopy and a plane in use but not so many that you have trouble to see anything outside.

Well the Lights on the Runway do enough to be able to see the Runway at least when you close to the lightsource, also a Flashlight is able to produce enough light that you can see a switch in the Cockpit if you light it directly which wasnt the case. Also the Taxilights should be able to lit up things which are directly in front of your plane, to be able to Taxi. In my case they lit up a little bit to the left and to the right but i couldnt see anything in front. Not only a weak light source, there was just nothing except a few feet to the left and the right.... The real Problem was Deffered Shading. Meant to do more realism but in my case screwed everything so bad that the game wasnt playable at night. Thanks to a Member which gave me the idea via PM. But now its clear that this is not a Bug or something wrong in the Harrier, its shading which seems to be still WIP in DCS 2.x, maybe one of the reason why its the alpha Version. @Rex854Warrior i didnt mean they will change the color when brightness controls are implemented, i mean that you will be able to adjust the screen until you see somewwhat better when this is in. Hopefully at least. Well without Deffered Shading the Green Screen is no problem anymore and works like a charm.

Thanks! Yes the Nav FLIR has a way better Quality then the NVGs. This Video is a bit older, in the menatime everything is green, which might be realistic but currently im not sure if its a plus in playability in its current state. Possible this changes when brightness and contrast controls are implemented, who knows. Anyways, seems my problem is not just the correct using of the Harrier Systems, its also Graphic Settings i assume. Because that its difficult to find a target is one thing but that its difficult to see the runway when you are sitting directly at the threshold has antoher quality but this might not be a Harrier Problem. Thanks for the help :)

...followed by people spending 60 bucks and more for a highly accurate simulation and then hit auto start up :megalol:

Lets give ED the time they need to deliver a good product. I also cant wait to get my hands on an F-18 and for sure i will not be happy if its coming later but i will understand. Since i bought the Harrier and find it in a stage where nothing really works beside of Take Off and Landing. Well that its not ready was expected but i didnt think that actually not a single system is ready.... Im willing to wait a bit longer for the F-18, seems like this beauty is a bit more finished even in early access than the Harrier is.

Thanbks for the answers, maybe a few additions where i think you misunderstood me. Im not talking about looking with NVG at the screen, its when you just look at it. At the beginning and the end of the runway, where the planes are touching you see just a green blob without NVG. Just the green Display. Think i described it not precicesly enough. Its extremely dark that i have real trouble to find (see) the runway or even the Ground next to me when on the Ramp or when im actually at the Runway (Runway Lights should lit up the Runway enough to see the Ground i think), even with NVGs. Not sure if this is a Nevada, DCS 2.2 or Harrier issue thats not a problem in Caucasus but thats 1.5 ofc. Again, not a Navigation Problem, im talking about visually see anything. Will test with Normandy and the A-10 maybe but currently i wouldnt be able to takeoff or land without a combination of FLIR and NVG. A pure VFR takeoff/landing would be next to impossible because you cant see anything and the Taxilights doesnt illuminate anything in front of you.

Hi, i run into some Problems during night attacks. Especially to find any targets because of the Bad Quality of the NVG and also the NVG capabilities of the Maverick. Im not sure if its my fault, the fault of the Harrier in its current dev state or maybe a DCS Problem. Im flying in Nevada (Open Alpha for that reason) and placed a few BMPs on the Runway of that Mock Airbase. Just to do a few experiments i thought it would be easy to find them when i have such a clear landmark. But the opposite is the case. First i tried to fire the Mavericks like i did in a Day Mission using the internal Sensors and then switch to the Maverick just to lock the Target. As described in this Video: But this System isnt currently capable to get some infrared image, so you have basicaly a black screen. Also if you try to use the Mav on its own, its seems like its not really ground stabilized. Because it moves with the plane a few seconds until its stable which makes fine tuning next to impossible. Also since the BMPs are in the first few feets of the Runway, you have really trouble to see anything because everything is just green. Maybe this should simulate the heat during breaking operations? dunno... The final Problem is the Quality of the NVG, which is pretty bad. FLIR Image is good but NVG is next to useless. I have Problems to find the Runway using just these. If i push the Gamma Settings i can optimise it but then i have terrible lighting in Day situations... Multiple Problems i know. Can anybody help me pin them down and get arround them? Or is the Harrier currently not really Night Attack capable before we get a few updates?

Increase Mouse Sensitivity on the Buttons would be interesting, since even if you click and drag you have to do that Multiple times in order to get full Rotation.... At least on the Harrier on the other Modules it works way better i think.

Same here, you have to fly very low (in which case no Mk82 explodes but this could be my mistake, just tried it once) or you have to do a "Dive Bomber Run". It should be possible to get the Pipper if you are very fast but couldnt test it so far.

I tried to kill the Engine yesterday. From my experiments it seems like the DECT is Buggy, which causes some Problems. Following Experiments: Vertical Take Off, Gaining Speed and back to a Vertical Landing. Then doing this all over again until the Engine dies and you cant take off or crash while trying to hover. With DECT on i can barely do 2 starts and the second landing doesnt work out well. With DECT off i can do it 6-7 times before the Engine dies. Well even if i did something different between the flights with and without DECS, there wasnt that much difference to cut the Engine Lifecycle in half.
