  1. Changed from GTX 590 (post 414) to Titan X
  2. It's interesting to hear of the restriction in the Mustang. Back in the sixties the standard "Vital Actions" on takeoff in the N.A.Harvard (T-6) started with "Brakes", "Undercarriage", etc. and definitely involved using the toe-brakes to stop the wheels spinning before raising the undercarriage, and was strictly enforced by the Air Force Instructors in training flights.
  3. You have to go to your "Server" (LUA) file (.../Eagle Dynamics/DCS World/Config/View/Server) and look for all lines that read "Camera View Angle Limits" and change second value (usually "120") to "140" or even "150" to increase the field-of-view angle in the cockpit. You might have to open the Server file "Properties" and authorise yourself to make changes to the file, first. Some later aircraft have a different location where the changes must be made - e.g. the Mig21 , where you go to : ...DCS World/Mods/Aircraft/Mig21bis/Entry(File folder - not LUA File)/03_Views . Open this file and change the "Camera View Angle Limits" to (say) 140. I think it is, by default, 105. Hopefully this will work for you as it did for me.
  4. It could be your pitot-tube icing up. Turning on the pitot-heat CB might get it working again.
  5. Bookmarked! Congrats on a great new site!
  6. Thank you, Ironhand , for the feedback. I shall continue , then, with the FFB disconnected, and wait for the system to be modified sometime in the future.
  7. Hello Ironhand, your above post pointed me in the right direction. I am using a Logitech G940 system with force-feedback, and am not able to apply trim at all to the Su-27 if FFB is selected in DCS World. If FFB is de-selected, application of trim (pitch - via adjusting the angle of the stabiliser) is normal using either trim-buttons or "joystick" trimming, and makes "flying" the Su-27 very much easier! Given that I am pretty ignorant when it comes to modern jet systems (and predate PCs by a few decades), I suspect that I might have overlooked something, or misunderstood something. The Su-27 is the first "modern" jet that has really got me hooked on the type - everything about it is just beautifully depicted in this sim and it's a simply stunning aircraft - and I'd like to try "flying" it as ED intended. In the Su-27 manual (P.44) it states "If a joystick has force feedback, trimming shifts the joystick neutral position, ...." which seems to indicate that the FFB should, in fact, be turned on. I do have it turned on in the Logitech controls. What is your advice?
  8. Nothing wrong with your earlier skins - they were great, but this is magnificent! THANKS.
  9. Do any of the experienced "Old Hands" have any specific special techniques or tips that they would advise when taking-off or landing the Dora with the external 300litre drop-tank attached?
  10. An unusual skin, beautifully done! Thank you, Krupi.
  11. Thanks Maler (and rrohde) - it's a really great theme picture!
  12. I've just "flown" Black 12 - what a beauty! The weathering effects are the best I've seen, so far. Thanks, Markuscha, for sharing your fine work!
  13. Its looking great - a real work of art! I hope it will be available soon... There is one Dora skin on user-files - Stab/Jg4
  14. The spinner-spiral animation on version "WIP_0.91" was really nice. It seems to be back to the default animation in version "V0.95". Will the earlier animation be back in the final version?
  15. It looks superb -and probably one of the most complicated types of colour-scheme to duplicate. I very much look forward to "flying" it in the near future! Thanks for the preview.
  16. Thank you Mainstay! This is a real work of art! Hopefully the first of many?
  17. I forgot the most important thing.... Crazyeddie, Thanks for the really great SAAF "skins"! Much appreciated! Derek.
  18. Hi Tom, Thanks for the help, the SAAF Sabres are up and running! (I remember watching them with teenage awe -I was 18, then - back in the mid '60s when doing basic training on Harvards in the Tvl. - maybe we'll strike it lucky and see some springbok/castle schemes as well, some day!) Cheers, Derek.
  19. I have downloaded the SAAF Sabre schemes but (after lots of searching) I cannot find where to put them in the DCS programme. I am familiar with FSX addons but have not added to the DCS files yet. Can anyone advise? (Apologies for my ignorance!)
  20. The only serious cause for concern in this matter is that E.D. can financially survive their very generous efforts to save a difficult situation which was clearly not of their making. Even their original proposal was an admirable attempt to accommodate the flight sim community who had chosen to fund the project. (as a $40 backer who already has the P.51 I was more than happy to get the Dora-9 as a GIFT from E.D. who owed me nothing at all!). The Biggest "reward", which we are all getting, is the continued development of this wonderfully ambitious product by, perhaps, the best folk in the business when it comes to top-quality flight-sims! Just look, again, at the Dora Manual. I don't doubt that all the aircraft that will follow will be of this incredibly high standard and what could be greater for any serious flight-sim enthusiast? I, for one, had my eyes opened as to the enormous costs involved in a project such as this, and now realise that the original promised "rewards" were totally unsustainable, if not totally ridiculous (however they might have been intended). I believe that E.D. are acting in a very decent and honorable way in offering what they have and deserve, in turn, a little gratitude and a lot of support from the "backers", in particular. There will always be a tiny minority who will not miss a chance to "throw their toys out of their cots" no matter what is done to accommodate them, but I can only hope that E.D. realise how much their actions are appreciated by a grateful community.
  21. Thank you, Groove, I now have access!
  22. Thanks for the help, Flagrum. I was able to access the rewards-management section, but not the Backers' Forum. I think I'll wait until the system is sorted out.
  23. Where is the Backers' Forum situated? How do I know if I have access, or not?
