  1. Thanks! I just wanted to make sure is all, I still have alot left but I've had issues with my mother board crashing and I've had to reinstall games, it's been a pain lol. Thank you once again!
  2. Hello, I apologize in advance for this question but I am just curious. With license on products, what happens if that ever hits zero? Do we have to rebuy the item all over again??? I was told I think no on this years ago, they told me that it would hit zero and then I would have to wait 30 days for a new license or something. Thanks in advance.
  3. See i screwed up, but in my defense lol, i had a mother board crash then a hard drive crash, then i sold one computer and deleted everything off but like a dummy i didn't remember deactivating them. I feel like an idiot there lol. As long as i dont have to repurchase them i am happy.
  4. O ok, gotta look into that, so once they run out i have to re purchase them all
  5. First off love DCS! Had to get that out of the way. Next for my question. So i know the product you buy from DCS have a limited number of installs, some of them im down to 5 because i have had to rinstall windows plus 2 new computer upgrades over last 5 years. My question is, what happens when the installs hit 0? Do i have to rebuy all these products again because i own nearly everything. I asked this years ago but i can't refind the thread, i thought someone said when it hits zero you still own it but you cant reinstall it but once in a 30 day period? Thanks for the answers!
  6. I have never had to do this but Buckeye I freakin love you man lol, I am from Ohio too lol, so thats why lol. Age thank you as well. But now I gotta figure out how to install them in to DCS world, never have had to do it this way. NEVER MIND, IT WORKS!!!! I am good to go now lol. What happened was, my ex and I split up so I had to move out in the country last summer around august, I been that long without internet so all these updates, new sites, modules are all brand new to me. I was use to the old way of just manually putting in the serial and installing off Module manager. Thank you guys ALOT, hope this thread helps someone else having the same issue.
  7. Well exactly how do I download the modules? Usually in the game I always use Module manager and install but this time for some odd reason there is no option for install, it only says purchase. And I am curious about checking to see if they are linked together from website to game, I see the game keys in my account folder on the website but when I go in game, there is no place that says install.
  8. I purchased modules Hawk, C101, and Mig 15, I have their activation keys from the website, I go in to module manager in game and the only option I am given is buy, I already purchased these three modules once. Things I have tried, Logging in and out of my account in game. Turning game off then back on. Running DCS repair in DCS folder. I am out of ideas now. I tried looking on the forums but didn't really see anyone else having this problem. It is updated to the most recent update as well. Anyone who can answer this problem, thank you very very much.
  9. Lol thank you, it just seemed quiet.
  10. Are new aircraft being made still for DCS? Been super quiet the last few months.....
  11. Well im not really talking about DCS, I have rise of flight, I am talking about the overall war in general. Many shows/documentaries media in general favors WW2 and yes the casualties were 3 to 4 times higher in ww2, but I believe ww1 to be just as important. When you think about it, since the Napoleonic wars, all of our conflicts have been one continuous war.
  12. The men who flew during this time period are being forgotten. I realize this when I was reading a book on the flying circus. My nephew looked at me and said were they clowns flying in war? And he's 14. It is sad. Also brings me to a second point, why is world war 2 more focused on than world war 1? I believe World War one is just as important, the book "the things they carried." Or "All quiet along the western front" are books being forgot about. Its sad. Just wanted to see your alls opinion.
  13. I'm late, hope you all had a blessed holiday season with your families. Also happy new years!!!
  14. The true man show theory is what im calling this endless map discussion lol.
  15. Yep just like that. Data links are neat but fragile in my opinion, all it takes is losing one section and the entire operation falls apart.
  16. Earlier in this thread someone asked about external tracking for a guided missile system on a aircraft, I do know the U.S. Air force was experimenting with this idea on B1s, to find a modern use. Essentially what the idea is, you would have 2 to 4 F22s so far ahead of the B1s and the B1s would lag back, when the 22s get targets pop up on radar they would essentially lock on for the B1s who would have AA missiles on the wings and launch the attack out of range of the enemy. With the carrying capacity of the B1 they could pack a punch with a limited amount of aircraft exposed to enemy aircraft. This research was being done when I was in 7 years ago, not sure what has become of it.
  17. I'm too use to arma and had a brain overload with this editor lol.
  18. O thank you. Well down side I dont currently have internet lol. I live so far out in a rual area they haven't ran lines out. Fiance and me had a argument and i moved out here back in July lol. I have to drive to my friends house to install modules using his internet. Hopefully soon ill be back online. I do have another editor question, after looking at this I got on DCS editor and tried figuring things out. It looks simple and I can set waypoints and friendly units and non friendly but one issue, how do I lay my actual unit down. Every time I clicked fly now, I could only observe the AI units. Got confused and I know that is probably silly lol but I could not figure it out. Thanks :)
  19. Yep, that's my squadron. Cool you got to meet them. Now the phone is charged up I can explain what happened to the guy. So after the tour I go on to meet the rest of the power plants shop, they kept referring to me as the 18 guy (that hatred ran deep lol). I made friends with a power plants mech named Jones and I asked him about the ejection seat incident and he did say it happened. The story he told me was about this AME from the Jolly Rogers, (AME's work on life support and egress systems for the aircraft along with ejection seats, especially the rockets under the seat. My new friend said he climbed in to the seat to work on some issues, he placed the flag in to the seat to keep the handle from moving which engages the ejection system, as he worked maintenance control was riding him about hurrying it up and he started to get complacent and he moved off to the side of the seat to work on the seat its self. After correcting the issue he climbed back in to the seat to check a line and didn't place the pin back in and as he went to get up his tool pouch got hung up and the seat ejected with him in it. I was in shock at this point hearing all of this. Jones smiled and said just because these birds are on the ground they can still kill you so watch what you do at all times. At this point Jones was ordered to take me to the flight line to show me the ropes. He told me what to expect how to move around a turning aircraft, staying away from intakes and how to check to see if the seats were safe. (AMEs were suppose to do that, but Jones said they were crack baby retards and it was best if he gave me the run down. I was nervous as hell and will not lie about that, he said its simple, if the handles are yellow, than your ok fellow, but if the handle is red and he flipped it to armed, then your one dead fellow. I just stared speechless lol. He showed me the canopy and how to open it and how to emergency jettison it which he said I should never have to do but wanted to show me so I would know if I was hitting the wrong switch. See on the tomcat there was a design flaw that was really tiny but a major nightmare, the switch to open the canopy was right next to the jettison button and both were red lol. He said a girl in the squadron was rushing and hit the wrong switch and jettisoned the canopy when he was new there, he said you heard the boosters and seen the canopy rocket off in to the air and down and shattered. Luckily no one was hurt. But this was my first day. I keep running out of room to see what im typing so ill continue tomorrow :)
  20. I made that short, but because my phone is dying, ill continue this later this evening. Sorry for the typos, using a phone to type all of this.
  21. So I assume I shall start this off at the beginning weeks with my first command which would be VF-32 swordmen call sign gypsy. I was only a E3 at the time and fresh out of F18 E/F specific school, but here was the first humorous thing that took place, I was checking in to VF not a VFA squadron and what that meant for me was no immediate job, they were still a tomcat squadron but some how my orders directed me there. The LT on shift looked confused upon checking my orders. I was being stared at, like I was the enemy/ odd creature from space. Now the thing with tomcat guys was that they hated 18 guys, we were the girly jet that was phasing them out of existence, (good video that depicts this is a scene in Fighter Fling 2004 navy video on YouTube, check it out, great video of the tomcats last year and they diss the F18 epically in it lol) The reason for the phase out was for every 1 hour the tomcat flew it took 30 man hours of maintenance, many did not know that. But back to the ASDO checking me in, he signed my papers, welcomed me to the squadron and took me to my shop. After meeting my LPO (leading petty officer) and LCPO (leading chief petty officer) the took me on "the tour". I'll never forget this moment for the rest of my life and it still feels as if it happened yesterday, but as he opened the door you seen 4 F14 tomcats in the hanger, all being worked on and taken apart in a beautiful, organized chaotic, fashion. Seen one jacked up off the ground with landing gear extended out and engines dropped out on port and starboard sides. The chief smiled and said we got a case of beer outta this one and I smiled and said what happened chief? He said damn pilot hot dogging it in mid air at top speed with center line tank and port wing tank full and the pressure placed a fracture down the fuselage and we got to strip the airframe to see if it can be saved. I remember thinking im glad i wasn't that pilot. After we walked past this location he pointed up and said, let me be very clear, DO NOT get in cockpit with out being ejection seat qualified or you'll end up like the poor bastard that died here. I looked up and there was a massive dent in the hangar ceiling where the seat hit with the guy in it. I got the point and didn't ask any questions about it after that and this was my first day in VF 32
  22. Or foot soldier lol glad this is a aviation sim
  23. Will do and ill kick this off tomorrow and Fraser I agree, others should jump in on this as well and tell their stories, would put a face on squadrons.
