  1. Hi guys and girls, I am preparing for some IFR route with my Ka-50 but haven't find any coordinates to them. I took off on the airports which are interesting for me (Krymsk, Anapa and Krasnodar) and flew over the beacons, switched to F2 view and wrote down the coordinates. As I wanted to setup a route in the editor, coordinates didn't match, for example, Anapa RWY 04 near beacon is way south from the centerline if I want to place a WPT according to the read-out coordinates. Another problem that beacon sites aren't visible in the editor, so I cannot place a WPT accurately as I want. Any idea? Thanx in advance! Cheers!
  2. As far as I know, standard Hind Echos don't have laser device onboard (although who knows original, non-exported Russian stuff:)). But if they have in the game... Well, OK.
  3. Ohh, by the way: you're really shot down by a Hind? I am jelaous... How can I set any kinda single player mission to dogfight with another helo: Hind or other Shark..? I have not succeeded it yet... Flying head to head... nothing. I shot down impotent enemy helos with Vikhrs, I think I'll try it with a FAB-250 tonight... No resistance by the AI rotorcraft*. How d'ya do that??!:D * OFF: unlike F-15s... I succeeded to shot them down by Vikhrs, but only head to head, and mostly they gave me their six-barrel thingy to s*ck:)...
  4. :D  Btw sometimes my thumb got fibrosis on the button to shovel off my whole amount of flares in a second as I glimpse some Fliegerabwehr guys, no matter what kinda stuff they have, S-400 or PPSh-41... Having all S2 info is essential :)...
  5. Hi beers, I don't understand why flares are necessary. Hind gunners track targets manually, through their Mark One* dual sensor dome :). Flares make you more visible to them. *Edit: in this case: ИЗДЕЛИЕ 1:D
  6. OK, there are two different infos, but after a few month we'll see it, as the blind man said:D... I definitely need some months savin' bucks to buy one of these, so I have patience...
  7. Hi Vega, as I can see this as a rotorhead... As you fly a real helicopter, you should set and hold the stick in the position the maneuver requires in pitch and roll, unlike fixed wings, where you set pitch and roll and reset the stick to center. Helicopter trimming means that you set the stick's neutral position (reset force on the stick) where you hold it for your maneuver, and after this, you can release stick if you want. Some helos have this trimmer (Ka-50, Mi-24, Mi-8 ), some don't (Robinson 22). This also means that you can always do smooth maneuvers (for example, in IMC), cause you don't have to fight with the stick force (OK, R22 has almost no stick force:)). You're right, the controls are isolated, for example, in a Mi-24, cause she has hydraulic boosters, so you can't feel the aerodynamic forces themselves on your cyclic, you only have, well, artifical force feedback through multi-spring mechanism, in a determined spring characteristics. But I think no one is talking about vibration sticks here as FFB, see the reply below this. BS's trimming with non-FFB sticks is, well, a kind of mixture of fixed and rotary wing trimming (as I can think of it). It is not bad, it is a good job solving this difficult problem, it is very usable, but it is caused by the limitations of non-FFB technology (what we are mostly using) and the need for helo trimming, and it is not realistic. Without heli trim simulation (like in MS Flight Simulator), or without using it (if you don't do it in BS:D), you should set and hold your stick in the desired position, but this doesn't allow your hand to rest or even to fly the helo accurately. With good FFB, this can be realistic and easier. So, as TrackIR, HOTAS, multi monitor, 15000 dpi laser mouse, 16.1 surround sound system etc.: FFB is not necessary, but FFB can make this ultimate helo sim more realistic. Cheers!
  8. Hi, well, nice pics you've found on flightstore but item infos told me that X65F won't be my dream stuff... if no FFB... OK, maybe better and quicker responses than my spring-centered HOTAS's, and I am waiting for some test results, but for heli controlling and trimming (weak point of BS with non-FFB)... I started saving bucks for some new FFB HOTAS. I hope that lots of ED forum members' impressions will be mostly positive with that stick's helo trimming :joystick:. Demands are different:)...
  9. Hi, it might be nice, but:"Error This file is neither allocated to a Premium Account, or a Collector's Account, and can therefore only be downloaded 10 times. This limit is reached. To download this file, the uploader either needs to transfer this file into his/her Collector's Account, or upload the file again. The file can later be moved to a Collector's Account. 10. Solved Hi guys and girls, I think I have the solution, besides I upgraded Fraps to 2.9.9: I set framerate to half-size I set FPS to 29.92 Maybe some PAL replay issue, or I don't know. And, of course, save 1680x1050 pics 30 times a second, maybe this ain't for my rig. Who knows... Now I have smooth (30 FPS:)) track replay and video replay with VLC playa. If this matters, I ask for a "Solved" remark into thread title. Thanks for all your help! Cheers!
  11. Nice job, go go go! To make a coordinated turn, maintain speed and altitude, you should pitch up a bit, stick and rudder to left/right and raise collective. Make coordinated turns - "ball" centered. This will be intuitive in the not-too-far future:smilewink:. But maintaining both alt and speed works below a specified speed. Evy helo has a speed limitation that you cannot turn maintaining both speed and altitude beyond this, wherever you are raising collective. This speed is unique to each helo, according to its airframe, wings if have any, rotor, engine performance; for example, 250 km/h for Mi-24, theoretically. Beyond this speed, you should maintain altitude (particularly at low level:D) in turning, this will cause a bit speed loss. The method is the same, pitch a bit up, stick and rudder to left/right, raise the collective, maintain bank angle and altitude. At high speeds (collective is in your armpit:)), as you suddenly start to turn with high bank angle, you should lower collective a bit: you cannot maintain this airspeed, so it is not a factor, and your blades won't collide as you stick to the left/right. The others are the same as above. Ohh, before anyone says that it's a game, no one will evaluate our flights, maintained bank angles and airspeeds, we don't need coordinated turns... It's a game, but not an arcade stuff. And, we do need coordinated handling, for example, to avoid blade collision in high adrenaline situations. As 159th_Viper said, to stop with a 360° is quickest and great fun, but you should watch the G-meter as well. Cheers!
  12. Hi kraszus, just get the same advices as given to Leroy1964 one thread above (now); the point is: practice! No one was born with helo stick in his/her hand, as my commander said once. Do not give it up!:smilewink: By the way, I think there won't be easier to implement or use AH-64 trim; I've heard rumors about auto-trim, I have no idea how the hell it would work with either FFB or non-FFB stix :dunno:. Or, get a good FFB stick:).
  13. Hi Leroy, practice, practice, practice... or "learn, learn, learn", as Mr Lenin said:). I fly helos IRL, so controlling this beast was not as hard as I can remember my very first real flights:D. To learn how to control a helicopter, it requires full attention, no weapon system, navigation etc. in the first couple of hours, let's say 15-20 or more (don't wanna frighten you). Take-off, land, hover, traffic circuits, basic maneuvers like acceleration, brake, controlled turns, climb, descend, then advanced maneuvers and aerobatics, hour after hour until it becomes a fun, before you start to bother nav and weapons. And yeh, BS's trimmer and autopilot are tricky ones, they must be in the top five in numbers of threads on ED forum:D. Trimming is unnatural, it's made for people mostly have non-FFB sticks. You can try various methods: push and hold trim, maneuver, release the trim, center the controls is one method. I prefer continuous trimming in pitch angle (speed) and make turns without trimming, but I use Flight Director. Well... it might not be an aid but you should read BS threads here about trim and AP usage, try the methods and choose the best for you. Another IRL story: rookies often ask for advice about trimming, instructors often tell the basic two methods and say "... but you must coose your preferred one". Practice, mate, and it will be real fun as you can, for example, land on a roof within 30 secs, from a 250 kph level flight, no matter which roof you've chosen around you. Cheers!
  14. With 30 FPS in the upper left corner, both gameplay, track replay and recorded video in the xyz player are stuttering. I call it slideshow, cause it didn't happen with Lock On, an older Fraps, on my old rig (A64 3500+, 2 GB DDR400, 7600GT, XP); sorry for misunderstanding:). And, it can be some hardware or software problem. Maybe latest Fraps solves this.
  15. An Afghan scenery would be nice. +1 But... a European etc. also:D. (3rd party) scenery devs, go go go!
  16. No GPS, no AMMS, no inertial, only paper maps, nav rulers and nav plans. This teaches quick-tempered, technocrat rookie pilots IRL to stay cool, navigate and fulfill a mission either when GPS sats are down, AMMS has a few cal .50 holes on the display and INS always blows its fuse:P. I hope there will be possible to print the map in BS, at least in 1:500k scale... well, I might be lazy to use it instead of ABRIS:D.
  17. Hi, well, evything flies ballistic trajectory somehow. Except some missiles with long burning engine or jet (tipically cruise missiles, ramjet stuff etc.), every missile flies ballistic after burnout, although they are steered. But, if you're talking about Vikhrs, they are beam riders, they must fly within the launcher's laser beam which is straight to the aimed target. They cannot fly that pop-up-and-sail trajectory like Hellfires which are semi-active. I don't know whether Ka-50's targeting system is able to control semi-active laser-guided stuff (control GBU-12-like bombs, Hellfires, Kh-25s) or not. If so, it could be possible to integrate them into Ka-50's arsenal IRL, as well as hack .lua and other stuff in DCS. But... why the hell? This is a real combat simulation. It would be like you want to fly at 500 knots level with Ka-50. Once I tweaked Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon weapon files with the built-in Igor editor, and it was funny to shoot an M16A2 at 6000 rounds per minute, from a 30000-shot mag. It was funny... first. After some single-player massacres, it became boring and I reset to defaults. Cheers!
  18. Hey all, thanks for your replies. I have Fraps 2.9.7, now updating to latest, and will try it next week. Feuerfalke: I am the rookiest guy in overclocking, so I asked my colleagues and googled some noob OC threads. I did it according to them, I got a stable clock speed on that Vcore, Prime95 worked all night well but sure I haven't got enough time and patience yet (oc-ing RAM, other voltages, other stuff) and didn't want a $800 well done steak in my case ;). As 59th_Wittmann said: bash method ain't work in overclocking...:D. So I temporarily freezed the issue, as I have the average 70 FPS on factory clocks and volts of RAM, CPU and VGA, with max quality sets... I know, I know, why OC-ing necessary, as I ain't interested in 3DMark, SuperPi, Furmark etc. scores... CAT_101st: my XP SP3 is slow, don't know why (it was this kinda slow on my brand new rig as well when it was a clean install), maybe I will reinstall it once more before Seven's launch, but I am lazy...;) 159th_Viper: simple but wise solution, will try next week :D. Cheers!
  19. Hi guys and girls, I am on making my first Black Shark video, with Fraps, Vegas 9 and 1.0.1 BS. I have an average of 70 FPS in gameplay but as I start to record, it drops to 30 and it becomes a slideshow; as I play back this, still slideshow. I set frame size to half but still the same. I don't know the FPS setting's function: as I set to 30, will it record on 30 or is it a minimum? Should I set it to 60 or so (and this caused another useless RTFM thread :D)? Is Fraps recording CPU-intensive? Or RAM? Does affinity settings count (one core for BS and one for Fraps)? Can I use GPU power somehow? Should I set save location onto another hard drive? I run Win 7 RC x64 powered by an E8400@3GHz, 2x2GiB DDR2 800 and an HD4850@625/993MHz @ 1680x1050 and Catalyst 9.9 with all quality settings on maximum. Thanks in advance! PS: an :poster_offtopic: OC issue playing Black Shark: I overclocked the processor to 3.6 GHz but NOSIG in FPS... I OC-ed my Sapphire VGA to their Toxic edition clock speeds (675/1100 MHz) and gameplay was stuttering (sound either!)... I OC-ed the VGA to the Catalyst auto-tuned maximum (690/1188 MHz) and square-centimeter-sized, colorful pixels began to run across the monitor:). I have Scythe Ninja 2 and Musashi on them, so overheat cannot be a problem. Who knows computers..? Maybe I saw the moment of the rise of Skynet... Cheers!
  20. :poster_oops: Well, seems I should re-read some technical stuff... to be on holiday week after week...:D. Thanks! Btw... to the PZU either?
  21. Hey guys, I cannot reproduce this thing, although I spent twice or threece (OK, language reform off, three times:D) the flight time in loads of dust at near hover but didn't happen. I will work on it, in the same mission. Miguez, Bulletstop, you're right. Both engine de-icing and PZUs (dust separators) drains air from the compressor (can't remember from which stage), so if you switch them on, to maintain the same drag on the rotor, EGT must be increased a bit to spin up the engine (the compressor), to draw the plus necessary airflow. Cheers!
  22. Well, you're right. I should ask for lifetime wear modelling as well... periodic maintenance... 25 hours check... rotor blades on cone... :D (I won't!). Just curious about this vibe issue... Cheers!
  23. You're welcome! Another point to all guys, there are two kinda maneuvers (particularly as a rookie): "It happened as I'd wanted to do it" versus "I wanted to do it as it had happened" (there should be a more known English saying about it - I don't know :)). What d'ya think which is better..?:smilewink: Cheers! Edit: I just tried that circuit... well, I have to learn some more...
  24. Hi Spider76, it depends on one's needs. I've never been in multiplayer combat yet and don't work hard on collecting combat points (sometimes I accidently commit fratricide, so all my points often disappear:D), I am rather interested in just fly as übergood as possible. So, what we individually like in this sim... And, being able to fly this helo as accurate and coordinated as possible in every situation (which needs hours and hours of hover and maneuvering), can prevent you from, for example, damage the rotor, or exceed the G limitations as you dodge SAMs hard. This is why real pilots aren't allowed to fly advanced combat employment (or Blue Angels parade:)) tasks until they fly their chopper/fighter instinctively. Although I only have 30+ hours on Ka-50, but, based upon IRL combat training, I highly recommend to evyone to polish his/her sticking skills as much as possible. Good idea, Eskam001  ! Cheers!
  25. Hi, seems the thread doesn't reach its original goal :D. Thanks for the A-10 jocks anyway, I'll try it ASAP . Cheers!
