I was in your position not too long ago, Apache600. The first mission you describe is actually two missions that look mostly the same, and you could draw one or the other; you have to read the briefings to notice the difference. In one, the objective is to fly out to a waypoint inside enemy lines for recon. Do that, and you'll get winning results regardless of what you kill. In the other, you have to take out the two lines of defense you mention, and many of the enemies beyond them. You must protect the advancing friendlies, and you lose points if they die. Make sure you go to the mission planner and change your loadout if you haven't. Get rid of the unguided bombs. Cycle the laser between Vikhr shots and you can fire them more frequently. Keep in mind that this campaign is unrealistic and absurdly difficult for the Su-25T. I believe it's a campaign that was made for the Ka-50 and hastily repurposed. You will never see all the enemies shooting at you. The AI wingman is nearly useless, and the ground friendlies will get their stupid selves killed and lose the mission for you repeatedly. If you try to play all the way through this campaign in the Su-25T, you'll be screwed out of hard-fought victory again and again and again along the way. Happy hunting!

I've seen similar problems in mission C-P8.1 and C-P8.3. I spawn looking at my Ka-50 in F2 mode and see the message "YOUR FLIGHT IS DELAYED TO START, PLEASE WAIT". Eventually the helis start up and fly their route, but I never get control. If I pull up the scoreboard, my aircraft is listed as Su-25T. In mission C-P9.2, I got the "YOUR FLIGHT IS DELAYED..." message, then gained control of a Ka-50 at a different base than the one shown in the route/briefing. I haven't checked other missions for errors. I suspect that when AI pilots' skill is set to 'random', they can now end up randomly setting themselves to 'player' and cause conflicts.

Ok, I recovered my progress by taking aeliusg's advice in the link Raven Morpheus posted. Edit the file <user>\Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor\logbook.lua, find and replace "aircrafts" with "aircraft". All this trouble caused by the developers trying to polish their English. In my professional opinion, "aircrafts" is a fine word to use when talking about multiple types of aircraft. It's like "fishes".

My campaign progress is gone. I was near the end of Georgian oil war for BS2 and it took me 80+ flights to get there. Please tell me there's a way to recover this. What file is the logbook stored in? Edit: I found the file intact at <user>\Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor\logbook.lua Now trying to find out why the latest DCS version doesn't read this.

If your frame rate is really as low as the video suggests, then a better graphics card would be a big upgrade in flight control for you. It's very hard to make subtle changes and avoid overcorrecting at 10fps.

When I click Mission Planner, I get a blank, light-blue screen and I have to alt-tab out and kill DCS in order to do anything. I had the same problem in both Steam and the ED installer version. Is this feature known to be buggy?

Most of you guys are talking about changing your loadout. How do you do that in a campaign where it starts you on the runway? (Oops, old thread. Question still stands.)

How long are you supposed to stay at the LZ "unloading cargo" in mission 2? I gave up waiting for something to happen after a few minutes, flew back to base, and had 50 for mission results.

I just started flying the F-15 and I'm not getting very far on my fuel. I've learned not to over-throttle and to dump the external tanks once they're empty. Are there any other tricks to maximizing range? How far can I expect to fly if I'm doing things right?

This is also my experience. Have developers commented on this at all? If bug reports are usually reviewed by watching a track file, and track files can't be trusted, how does any bug get reproduced and fixed?

I just click the hat switch several times to make a fine trim setting. If I need a major trim adjustment (in the Su-25) I just put it in AP level flight or attitude hold mode, let the autopilot do it for me.

I believe you have to keep the target in the cone for the Vikhr's whole flight, or most of it. I've seen very low Vikhr accuracy like you describe in the campaign missions, and I've seen my accuracy go way up when I hit the brakes and spent more time on target. Also, I think the ability to fire 2 Vikhrs was removed in recent versions. If I'm wrong, can someone tell me exactly how?

Some of the controls are never legible in the default setup, for instance around the HMS switch on the lower left, and the controls under the Shkval screen. The z-axis head movement doesn't help because I can't get my head low enough. It feels like I have a giraffe neck. Binding a key or button to zoom seems like a clunky solution to me, but I may try it.

Yes, assigning the TrackIR Z axis to zoom instead of longitudinal camera view in the DCS controls under "Axis Assign" was what I needed. Thanks!

Hi, I'm new to the shark, but I've spent some time flying the Su-25T,and I love the way TrackIR works there. In BS2 I'm frustrated that I can't zoom view with my head a little more. I can't even get close enough to read the labels on the cockpit switches. I've seen Youtube videos where people had a much better view of the cockpit than I have. I don't see any settings about this in the options either. Am I missing something?

There's an indicator light near the landing gear handle for the IR jammer, and if you have the ECM jammer pod, there's a light for that on the right side of the cockpit. These are mentioned in the "Missile Defence & Attack" training mission.

Thanks for the advice. I also found a youtube vid by a guy who makes this look easy. And I got shot down about 20 more times trying to replicate it.

Hi, I'm fairly new to DCS. I'm trying to graduate from the target range to the campaign mode in the Su-25T, and I've failed and been shot down many, many times. I've never yet seen the primary target marked with orange smoke. Is there a walkthrough, or a video that shows this mission being done correctly?
