I can chime in on this. I too started with 1080ti on 4k ;). Then a 6800. Then a 6900 (= very similar to 7800xt) and now a 7900xt. In marianas freeflight f16 instant action scenario with everything turned to high the 6900xt can keep about 61-90fps depending on which area of the map u are. The first bit over the crowded airport is the worst bit. So the 7800xt will be able to do it, since its a little better then 6900xt. Syria is always above 70 fps. When FSR is turned to quality/0.9 u will see 100fps+ If the price is right I would go for 7900XT. U can turn everything up and not worry, this gpu is a powerhouse. Never below 80 on Marianas. There is no reason to not go with AMD atm unless u are a VR player. Then go with Nvidia. But im not sure on how VR goes nowadays in AMD.

I didnt do my research on 13th gen. It seems the 13600k beats the 12700k everywhere, so this is indeed the better option and a bit cheaper too atm. The 13700k will cost me too much with total cost combined and the power draw seems quite toasty Seeing the other answers there isnt much between them. I will go with 13600k since its quite abit better then 5800x3d outside of the games. Thanks all!

I can get both combo's of cpu and mobo for the same price (single digit difference). I already have ddr 32gb 3200 and a Rx6800. Whats best to buy for purely DCS?

VKB GLADIATOR NXT - Entry Level Taken to the NXT Level

How is this stick for helicopter coming from a 10cm extended warthog? The gimbal seems much nicer but is it enough to compensate for lack of the extension? thanks -
Thats what im using also with the grey trim hat on the warthog. Thought it might be something like this already, cause when i try my best to activate it only for a split second, sometimes the trim is alright. Is there a fix for it beside rebinding to maybe another hat? And good to hear about the Hornet!

Hey guys Recently got back into DCS with F16. Looking to buy F18 with the sale now. I do have however one question about how the F18 trim works. With the f16 its near impossible to trim the plane wings level (left-right) while others like the Mirage trim effortlesly for level flight. Does the Hornet also suffer from this? cause it really kills any enjoyment with the 16 for me getting that micro roll going on every time and never be level.
-
Im having the same problem but its during roll trimming with say only a TGP attached. I can never get the roll trim level. Its just too sensitive. My controllers are not the issue (triple checked) and its not an issue in other airplanes too. My f16 is always rolling slightly left or right, even after trying to correct it with manual trim. Except in pure clean config this seems always present.
-
I havent had to use much Pitch trim, but for me the roll trim is indeed very (too) sensitive, its almost impossible to get the plane trimmed level with say a TGP attached becasue of the sensitivity. always just a bit to little or to much.. never just level. Its not my controller causing the roll.
-
I also have this mini roll issue, it is super hard to get the plane trimmed straight with ordnance. Always drifting a little bit.

New Wheel Stand Pro for Thrustmaster Warthog attachment

Should I get this or the Virpil mounts? I need a portable solution for now, and while this seems better (more customise options, mouse closer by) I Think this is really heavy with the 3 arm? Can anyone give an indication on weight of the thing? I also use my pc for mouse and keyboard games and like to be able to quickly swap my stuff from flight to race to shooter etc. This might be a bit to cumbersome when fully installed? please advice. -
I would just go with VKB. Its bit more expensive, but I got my gladiator pro yesterday and its is EXCEPTIONAL.
-
simple question: I just bought a gladiator pro 2nd hand, I got all the cams and springs etc with it, but the guy put in a wrong size allen/hex key. I just moved out to my own place and dont have any tools here. Can anyone tell me the size I need before I go out and buy the wrong one :D ? (not US sizes please, but EU)

Controllers (went way off topic and moved)
junneh replied to GazAce's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Actually the TM TWCS Throttle is already like f18 throttle, it just missed one button i believe, shape and buttons placement is similar to f18 irl. Maybe they'll release something with the stick after all, I mean the have the basic shape molds in factory already, albeit for plastic. -
Yea, I dont think warthog is for me. I already found my t1600 too heavy, and have modded old x45 too for lighter throw. The reason I want to part with t1600 is just, I need more buttons/hats on stick, modifiers just arent ideal, and I want to dive in the a10 proper. (and f18 soon) As far as Ive read the CH is quite light of a stick? I think it would be more suitable to me. Old tech, or pot meters dont really matter to me, aslong as it flies good (i.e. my 10 year old g25 wheel still working nice with the pots ;) ) The only question I still have is with the system of the 2 seperate axis CH uses, does it interfere with small Helo corrections around center of Joystick? I would buy 2nd hand, but, its impossible to find in Netherlands used. Amazon UK is selling used for 112 pounds (120 euros), quite steep still imo.

I would like to ask if this stick is worth the money u pay for it in europe. I know the poit are hi quality and the stick will last, and is well built. however, due to gimbal and usb controller design, some people say its not any good for dcs, especially Helicopters. Im basically deciding between this and a hotas warthog stick only (refurb). (I cant drop 300 on a vkb or virpil atm, sadly) Theyll cost me the same price, which to choose? I fly helos and jets, generally prefer a light stick. Currently using t1600m, its precise, bit heavy for my taste, and just bad buttons, how will the CH compare to this stick?
-
Just gonna ask my question here too: I wanted to buy this but am worried since i dont really like heavy stick. Is is much tighter/return to center then the T1600M? if so, does it still work good with helo's ? Is it easy to maybe spring mod for lighter throw? (Can use extension ofcourse, but id like to use the stick on my desk) (I move stuff around alot, so a dedicated lower mount is not gonna work for me)

I Think im ordering a VKB gladiator mkII pro today :D. (the clutch system of gunfighter seems nice but it adds alot more money to an already expensive piece of kit ;) ) Will wait till MCG grip comes out (they said around november for EU ) and will order that too. Thanks for all the replies.
-
Alright, Im guessing when the MCG comes out from VKB there will also be a full stick option (like gunfighter pro being sold now)? I can wait for a month or two, but rather not :D Its just the stick im looking at for now, I got a good deal on TM Pedals and TWCS throttle and sofar they do the job fine for me. One more question i would have is, with the VirPil stick, the base seems verry narrow, and the only options for mounting i can find is with the desk clamp stuff, which, (albeit it better probably) I have no interest/room in using. Will the stick be fine for on desk use with the narrow base? (I cant seem to find a desk plate base on their EU shop( like gunfighter pro/TM Warthog uses) In a more budget friendly option for just the stick, I can get either TM Warthog (stick only) or CH Fighterstick for both about 150 euros each. Which would be the better choice of these? I prefer a light stick, and also do alot of helo flying. I hear the TM is heavy stick, and the stiction issues. But am also hearing people dont like the CH stick for helo's since the 2 axis construction they use, can anyone elaborate on this?

Hey guys, Am finally ready to dro psome more money on my sim rig, starting with a good new stick. It seems these 2 are best. Which should I buy and why is it better? (Im leaning towards virpil, cus of the much better grip for modern aircraft (more buttons) I know the VKB MCG is coming out, but this would add again to the total cost.

Bombsight is confirmed not going to be implemented, I forgot where I read this tho.
-
Yes, im sure its new, the stick is still in plastic and foams with an unopened driver cd. I think i will buy this, if it is insufficient, i can still save up, $50 is not such a big investment. Im unable to find an used x52 in my country, and all the new ones are out of stock( as is the new x55 rhino) I think with rudder pedals this is my best optyion since i enjoy the huey and mi8 most, and the cheap stick will allow me to buy pedals right now and not in a few months, which i think will add a nice extra to flying the helo's in DCS. the thing is, that x55 just looks to damn sexy. EDIT: Does anyone have experiuence with the HORI FLIGHT STICK 3 (or EX2, same stick, different console ) in DCS?
-
HEllo, Ive been playing DCS on a TFlight HOTAS X i lend from a friend. (I find this stick sufficient, except for a10c) Im in the market for a new stick, but not on a very big budget I have the option to buy a NEW Saitek X45 for 50 euros. This will leave me some room to eventually also buy rudder pedals, please keep this in mind. Will this stick last me, or am I better of saving up for the new X55 Rhino ( Im impatient, and probably out of stock for another month here in the NEtherlands.) the TM Warthog is simply too expensive. Also, Are there any known issues with this stick? thanks.
