  1. Hi Everyone, Thank you for the advice. To get the DECOL light out from a cold start you must do the FBW Test (pg 19, Switch 41) There is a trick to it. Recommend to accomplish it after you completed Engine Start and your generators and hydraulics are on-line Procedures for FBW Test 1) It is covered off so you have to lift the cover and there are two systems L side and C side you have to test both of them 2) Place the switch to one side first and wait til you get the green light illuminated - 1/2 of test completed 3) Place the switch to the other side you did not test and wait til you get the green light - FBW Test Complete 4) Place to middle setting (OFF) and close cover 5) DECOL light is out and you are ready to taxi Warning don't mess with the PA Switch which is behind this one. I don't think its completely modeled yet but if you mess with it you will get PA Warning light which you can't extinguish. Happy Flying Lucky
  2. Zaelu, You are correct. I didn't read the manual carefully. I just reread the manual and there's a switch to test the FBW. I'll try it tonight and see how it goes. Quick note don't actuate the trim when the DECOL light is out. Because you can't retrim on the ground. Found that out the hard way. Cheers, Lucky
  3. Hi, First love the Mirage, it has overtaken the trusty F-15 and Su-27 as my primary DCS Warplane The more I understand the manual the more I love it but for the life of me I don't know how to to turn off the DECOL Warning Light when I start the Mirage from Cold Start. I think I'm either forgetting to turn on something or I can't set the take off trim. The plane won't let me trim on the ground. I troubleshooted by changing to start on the runway but when I moved the trim, the DECOL light illuminated but I could not figure out how to retrim it on the ground. The problem is that on heavyweight takeoffs I have the warning light on and I keep damaging the landing gear on take off which makes for some interesting adventures upon landing. But hey any landing you can walk away from is a good one. Any suggestion is most helpful Cheers, Lucky
  4. Hi Everyone, \I'm starting to learn BFM with the M2KC and was wondering what was a good AOA to shoot for: 1) Max Corner Speed in the Turn 2) Max Sustained Turn I haven't flown it since a couple of updates but both the Cannon and the Magic are a whole lot improved Keep up the great work Here's the EM Diagram I found on Google Cheers Lucky
  5. [Resolved] Software Conflict BIGNEWY I'm able to load DCS World 2.0 without any problems. I uninstalled three 3D Drawing and one Paint program, which were generating a conflict that resulted in an access violation with DCS World and its Modules. It was found by accident as I was cleaning my computer of obsolete programs and files. I haven't used them in over two years so they were not updated The Programs were Blender Python 3.2 GIMP AC3D (Used for X-Plane 9 and X-Plane 10) Just wanted to add another piece troubleshooting advice if people are having problems installing DCS 2.0 Heading to Vegas :pilotfly: Thanks, Lucky
  6. Hi Everyone, Not a bug just a question. I noticed in DCS Beta that some modules next to the License Number have a "DRM" box and other modules do not. How does DCS World differentiate between modules or does each module have different versions of the StarForce Activation protection files? Just Curious Cheers Lucky
  7. BigNewy Thank you and the ED team for your help in resolving this issue I'll wait for the next big Microsoft update to see if my computer starts allowing Alpha to open the Nevada terrain At least I have Beta going with the FC3 and F-5 modules doing well so at least I can still fly in the DCS universe Thanks Again for all your help Cheers Lucky Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. BigNewy, Thank you again for all the assistance you gave me. I excluded the files from the AV and Malware Made sure I had full read write access Reinstalled twice and unfortunately DCS World 2 Open Alpha does not want to run. I opened trouble ticket #55959 and we will see what happens next. Pretty confident this will get resolved soon. Thanks again, Lucky
  9. BigNewy, I did a clean install of DCS World Open Beta and DCS World Open Alpha in my Desktop Folder. DCS Open Beta works fine but still getting the Access Violation in Open Alpha. I sent the logs of both Open Beta and Open Alpha to compare with the DXdiag file. Looks like I'm not flying out of Nellis or Indian Springs anytime soon :( Thanks for all the help and support, learning more about my computer every day Cheers, DxDiag-092016.txt DCS Open Beta 092016.zip DCS Open Alpha 092016.zip
  10. Hi BigNewy Small victory tonight, I did a fresh install of DCS World 1.5 OpenBeta in my Desktop folder and it worked. No fatal errors. I uninstalled open alpha and will try to load to my desktop to see if the security is a little more lax on this folder. I'll send logs once this is installed Cheers,
  11. Trying something new Clean install of DCS World Open Beta on Desktop similar to installing Xplane10 will let you know how it went Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hi BigNewy, Excluded the files in the AV and Malware but problem still persists after doing that and running repair. Latest logs attached. Let me know what I need to do next? Thanks again DxDiag-091916.txt DCS OpenAlpha-091916 logs.zip
  13. BigNewy Thank you I agree with you that my PC went completely overprotective I'll exclude DCS in all my AV and Malware programs and hope for the best I'll send you the latest log files once I do that Thanks Lucky Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Also one more question how do you re activate a module when DCS does not ask for the key? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I'm guessing I have to temporarily disable Mcafee and turn on Windows Defender and add it as an exclusion ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I'll try when I get back from work I don't know how to do this in Windows Defender and Mcafee never gave me problems before Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Hi BigNewy Even though I can load DCS World Open Alpha without the Fatal Error after a clean install, when I click on Mission Editor the same Fatal Error crops up again. This might be a possible new bug with the latest Microsoft Updates. I say that because Microsoft was advertising something about updating DirectX12 when it was installing the update and I was seeing some DirectX errors in the logs. The Microsoft Updates that were incorporated on 9/17/16 were as follows: 1) Feature update to Windows 10, version 1607 2) Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3176936) 3) Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3188128 ) I've included the log files and the DirectX diagnostic with the clean install. As for me, I'll just have to wait for the next DCS World Alpha updates before I fly again. Thanks again for helping me trying to figure this error out. Sincerely, Lucky DxDiag.txt DCS OpenAlpha-091816 logs.zip
  18. Big Newy, Thanks for all the help. It seems with every new Microsoft Update push, it feels they are securing more and more of the files I have on my PC. Had to get full control folder access of my C:/ drive and made the autoupdater.exe file as run as administrator to get it going. If my PC still is clamping down on the file access, I can do an old x-plane 10 trick of loading the entire game folder in Desktop. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again
  19. Thanks I think that's the plan I'll go and I agree with that Thanks for the tip on creating a new saved games folder Thanks Again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I checked Mcafee and System Protector and nothing shows that they are blocking DCS Tried repair on both versions and still get the same message I'm wondering if I remove and reinstall the modules or delete DCS world entirely This is the first update in a long while that my computer is not happy with DCS Thanks Again for your help Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. BigNewy Thanks for the inputs I'm using Mcafee for the Anti Virus and Winzip Sys Protector for Malware I'll check if my AV is blocking something and repair If not I'll delete everything and reinstall Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Good Morning, My computer downloaded the Windows 10 Anniversary Upgrade and both the Alpha and Beta of DCS World are crashing with an Access Violation. Attached below are the dxdiag file for my PC and the zipped logs file for the Open Alpha and Open Beta versions from the Saved Games folder. I was wondering if there was anything I can do so to save the load I have or if I have to reinstall and try again. Thanks in advance Lucky DxDiag.txt DCSOpenAlphalogs.zip DCSOpenBetalogs.zip
  23. Hi Everyone I really am enjoying the F-5 and starting to learn the basics I use the S-3 and Su-25 as targets to understand the AIM-9P5 and learn basic gunnery. I also take out countermeasures and A/A missiles to reduce the risk of getting shot down As I get better I'll do battle with Fishbed and Flogger in the near future Thank you for the great advice Cheers, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Hi Everyone Looking for your thoughts on which aircraft should I go up against to gain proficiency in the A/A missiles and Gun I'm using the following aircraft that the F-5 has a clear advantage over to master getting into an optimum firing position for these newbie missions I'm creating: S-3 Su-25 Hawk C101CC A-10 Looking for any additional thoughts Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Hi Everyone, Just looking for some advice on a good seat height position for the the F-5E now that you can raise and lower the ejection seat in the module  Right now I'm raising the ejection seat so that if I'm looking at the gun sight straight on, the Pipper is on or near the top of the glass and you can see the two guns potruding from the bottom. Just looking to see if there are any good seat position techniques used for takeoff and landing and dogfighting. Cheers,
