  2. could installing CAW have f'ed things up? I dunno waht all the FPS mod that is included with it does......
  3. 18 KM! Wow, thats awesome..... I only have one vid card lol, and dont plan on buying one until Ati's DX10 card comes out......... why would turning AA off help? Isn't everyone going to be all blurry and shit?
  4. Hey guys, quick question (hopefully). I asked a similar quesiton on another board, but I don't think I got all the info I was looking for. I want to know how increase the viewing range of ground vehicles in the game. I originally was interested in only increasing viewing range in the Su-25 and A-10 targeting systems, and I was told to modify the MFD values in graphics.cfg. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that only increases the detail of the terrain in the MFD right? I want to be able to see vehicles better in the MFD as well, and heck if I can increase the distance you can see them looking out the window as well that would be great too. I hate how the vehicles pop into view way too late and are a PITA to see even when they do. I find it extremely odd that you can see buring vehicles and buldings from way the hell out there, even before some of the roads and stuff! The other peoblem I have is buildings poppin up into view. I don't mind, until it is something I am trying to target! :joystick: Any ideas? Oh btw, I have a pretty powerhouse system (i think): AMD X2 4400, 2 gig ram, Ati X1800XT (512 mb version), Raptor 10000 RPM SATA HD....
  5. Uh just because and airframe is a generation old doesn't mean what is inside is. Sorry, I just can't stand when blanket comments are made.
  6. and how would signing an F-35 deal be a bad idea? I mean, it is the most powerful and capable sing engine fighter the world has ever known... and for what it is is very cost effective. fact of the matter is, the block 50 is a combat capable powerhouse that holds it own and can surpass anything else in the sky minus say an f-22. theres so much secret squirrel crap that goes into these aircraft.. not to mention with something like that f-16 you are probably going to get lots of other goodies that come with western avionics like link-16 etc that many other a/c simply dont have. its more than just an airframe it is an integrated fighting platform. if you are going to do anything with nato, you will probably have awacs support and with link-16 you see everything everyone else does.
  7. F-117: its the Wobbly Goblin, or Stink Bug F-16: viper (duh) B-52: BUFF big ugly...(use your imagination) F-18: bug or super bug B-1: bone c-130: herk, herky bird... UAV: CRAP! AIM-120: slamraam, slammer AIM-9: heater
  8. I leave April 8 for Laughlin!!!!!! I can't wait.... just got en e-mail with a class roster as a matter of fact. My best friend is in my class, as well as a good friend that is on Casual status with me here at Holloman. Until then, I guess it's the same old T-38 sorties in our beautiful black jets ;)
  9. sorry i was being sarchastic. I know exactly waht you mean IK. I was simply implying that the Russian airshow pilots seem to push it up a notch way further than most others and unfortunately it has ended in disaster a few times. they really like to show off their stuff pushed to the limit which is pretty awesome. that 47 looks wicked in that video btw.
  10. RvE how the heck did you figure that out? Same with you Pilotasso for that matter lol. WHat I really want to know, is wheter or not you can increase the tension of the stick. It is waaaay too loosy goosy... especially since I've gotten the real feel flying in T-38's.
  11. I've been to your part of the world because I'm from San Antonio, not with these guys. I'm just a peon waiting at Holloman to go to pilot training. I wish I was going cross country but we just get area sorties. Those are some great pictures you got. It must be exciting to work out at that field. I went to NASA last year with my cockpit design class and got to tool around in the shuttle sim. There is so much neat stuff out at NASA!
  12. My office: And me :) My small part of the world: More here: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v363/crazyaggie05/t-38/
  13. The moving duct is another way of modifying the shockwave just like ramps do inside a duct. It is going to change where the shock "hits" the inside of a duct. You do NOT want the engine ingesting a shockwave :)
