I've had this issue for a while. First noticed with the Mirage Campaign mission 6. Others aren't seeing this issue. I've tried repairing (multiple times), reloading mission (multiple times), and finally I've tried creating a new mission. This is with the Mirage, haven't tested with other aircraft. Also spot 35 doesn't open (noticed when the AI doesn't open it during the campaign mission. Is there maybe a cached file somewhere that is keeping this from happening that I can clear out? Not sure what information I need to provide since it's not creating a crash or anything. I'll include my DXDIAG for starters. I'm running version 2.5.0.15365 of DCS Any help is appreciated. Best, DxDiag.txt

Stiill no joy. Are there any cached files that stick around after repair that could be causing this? That may be a question for ED though. The only thing that I haven't done yet is to create a mission and start from the same parking spots. I want to try this out with the mirage as well as different modules, just haven't had time. Maybe this weekend.

Well I've tried all I know to try. I've redownloaded the latest updates, reset my start position (Colt 1-1 crashes into hangar doors), reset Colt 1-1 start position (he starts moving without me), moved the trigger zone for player and repositioned the stop soldier for Colt 1-1 (he runs him over in a gruesome display), set a start trigger for Colt 1-1 (he starts at the correct point but refuses to move even after the aforementioned block soldier is gone). I'll wait for the Red Flag campaign I guess... Thanks for responding to my issue though.

I've downloaded the newest files and such but in the latest 2.5 the hangar doors still fail to open. The hangar doesn't appear until the mission starts but fail to open. Any help?

This is an issue with the Mig 21 at the moment. There are posts already dealing with it. I'd recommend posting this issue there and let them know it's more than just that module. It may help ED sort things out.

I've had this error at both Vaziani and Kutaisi. It effects both players as well as AI. Discovered on mission 6 of the Mirage Campaign. It also seems that the hangar doesn't appear until start mission is pressed. FYI ran the mission again and the offending hangar is parking spot 34 at Vaziani. Not seen any other posts about this. Has it been reported elsewhere??
-
I've downloaded the latest version. Prior to pressing Start the hangar isn't visible. I can see the troops standing outside, but once I start the mission the hangar appears and doesn't open. I've tried saying "Alohomora" and waving my wand and still nothing happens... I may just have to wait until some more bugs are worked out on ED's side. I appreciate the help and I've completed the campaign already and there is a reason I'm doing it again. It's a really FUN campaign! Great job. Looking forward to Red Flag and seeing if Berger makes a reappearance. ;)

Still having an issue on mission 6 where the hangar door fails to open. Anybody else having this problem and/or know of a solution?
-
It seems that the parking spots have been renumbered on the Caucasus map. I've had to go into my personal missions and re-place aircraft in the correct spots. Was causing some missions to start with a bang (literally starting with another aircraft in my spot). Mission 6 is starting inside a hardened hangar that doesn't want to open. Tedious but I think that is the solution unless ED changes things back for the parking debacle.

I've updated the mission files and on Mission 6 I'm now starting in a hangar that is failing to open. Funny thing is that in F2 mode I don't see the hangar... Thought it may be a ghost but ran into it when taxi'd. Also my kneeboard isn't showing the pages with my starting coordinates and other info like that. It has colored lines where the words are supposed to be. Anybody seen a fix to that, or has it been reported yet? **I've discovered that every mission on the Caucasus map has new parking positions and I'm now updating them individually. Pain in the backside... this will probably need to happen in the campaign as well

Same issue same mission. I'm running the current release version. Could it be something with a helo not taking off as expected? There is a similar issue with helos on the Piercing Fury Campaign.

As I sit here out of town and nowhere near my gaming system i think how nice it would be to be working on a mission to fly. This led to thinking about a small version of DCS World that could be opened on a tablet. Not any kind of valuable options but a way to access the mission editor of even create missions. So here is my wish: A mission editor application primarily for tablet sized devices. Capable of logging into accounts and have mission editor functions. Maybe later having the capability of migrating missions into ones actual full DCS World application for flying,MP, etc. Not sure if Android could support this but that would be ideal.

Upgrading my PC need some assistance
granola1861 replied to granola1861's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
As always I appreciate the feedback. It looks like I need to go back and keep looking at my compatibility options. First will be to look at moving towards a better RAM setup which should free up my Mobo, and CPU options. Hopefully I can save my tower, power supply, and HDD (I like the idea of having a SSD for my OS and DCS). I may be back with more questions. Best, -Climber -
Alright folks, I've never been led wrong when asking DCS forums for help. I've got a PC that was put together some many years ago primarily for flying Aces High. I still fly that some but want to get things dialed in better for DCS. Currently I'm doing alright but the latest changes have begun to tax my system. My thoughts are to Upgrade the CPU, Motherboard, and Graphics Card. I've been looking at compatibility with pcpartpicker.com and wanted some pro vs. con feedback. I'm looking to be able to get better framerates and turn up more of the settings for better looks. Here are the basic parts that I have now that I feel need upgraded: CPU: Intel i5 760 @ 2.80 GHz (quad) Mobo: Gigabyte P55A-UD3 Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 5800 Series. I want to keep my tower, RAM (just recently upgraded to 16 Gig), power supply, etc. These items are listed below within a link. Here is the link from pcpartspicker that shows what I'm looking for in the three places (CPU, Mobo, GPU) as well as the items that I"m already working with. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7NsWLD I've heard that more cores is not always the best for DCS but GHz is king. There seems to be lots of info out there but it is hard to sift through in a timely manner. This PC is primarily a gaming system. I also run Aces High (as stated above), FSX, and Falcon BMS. These are obviously all flight sims (I think I have a problem :) ) As always thanks much for any feedback as it is greatly appreciated. Best, -Climber

Just checking but do you line up and roll forward to bring the nose wheel straight before disengaging the NWS? I've found that that helps and haven't had issues for the past few updates. Also putting a slight amount of back pressure on the stick once you hit 110 kts or so helps to unweight that nose gear. The last time I couldn't stay straight I remembered that I had forgotten to straighten up and it seems that when you disengage the NWS it wants to hold a bit of whatever direction is was pointing when you turned it off.

I'll have to try the shortcut. I just ran a mission and it worked. I run the A/B Cutoff switch off and on as part of my startup sequence to see if that has any effect. I've tweaked my throttle assignment a bit so I guess I'll continue to try to narrow down the possibilities. I know that in the Hawk manual they mention bringing up power slowly for some real life function to occur. Is there a possibility I'm running up the engine too rapidly causing a malfunction?? I've been slowly bringing up power to a taxi, stopping, applying brakes, then full power to see if A/B is gonna happen for me before I taxi all the way to the threshold. If I figure anything else out I'll post it here. Thanks for the responses. Best, Climber

Not sure if this is a bug but could very likely be something I'm missing in my startup sequence. I'm not getting afterburner or power beyond 89-90% with 1.5.4. I've checked my throttle axis and it is giving me 100%. This isn't happening 100% of the time either just around 90%. Is there a new step to the startup that I'm missing? Any help is appreciated. Best, Climber.

You must have killed his boyfriend in that tank back at the target area. Revenge is bittersweet... -
Interesting thing on Mission 5 *Warning Spoilers*

Those funny AI rogues! At first I thought he was trying to defect! -
**SPOILER ALERT** Not sure if this was supposed to happen or not but I capitalized on the event nonetheless. So here I am flying home down Sally Corridor after a successful mission and enjoying the beautiful sunrise over Nevada when I notice a Mig 29 on my RWR getting closer. I'm about 5 miles from making the turn toward Apex when my wingman spots a bandit. I decide to go ahead and make ready for more work (Arm weapons, guns, countermeasures up, lights off, and tune to 150 AM for AWACS support). I turn back towards the west just in time to see a missile contrail nail my #4. Now I'm in dogfight mode turning on this unlucky SOB and get tone on his tailpipes. First shot nails him and the followup was just to be sure. I did a quick assessment of my surroundings. My downed Hawg pilot was in the silk, I marked his POS for the PJ's and continued to RTB. All in all a good day in my opinion (3 ground vehicles destroyed and one Mig dead!). Not sure if this was a rogue bird or not. If it was set in the mission then kudos for keeping us on alert. I really didn't expect Red Forces to be attacking over populated areas like that though. I was well past the VUL time so I didn't know if mission had them RTB or not (I guess not). Really digging both campaigns! Very immersive and fun. -Climber

Kneeboard Question still looking for an answer...
granola1861 replied to granola1861's topic in DCS 2.9
Thanks for the help Syran! That may definitely be a workaround. All I need to do now is find the maps that are used in the working modules kneeboards. The file location mentioned in the link doesn't exist in 2.0 alpha. (no terrain file under bazar). May still be a work in progress I suppose... Still looking for some info from the mothership though. -
Alright, this is a question I have posed on several different spots in the forums and have yet to get a reply. First off this is a 2.0 issue only. Why do maps appear on some module's kneeboards and not on others. For example, NTTR maps work well on FC3, UH-1, Hawk, and P-51. I can't get the maps on the Mig 21 (only get the "install batteries" pages), Mig-15, and F-86. I haven't checked on the 109 yet. The Migs and Sabre show their respective kneeboard pages for the module (RSBN codes, etc). I've posted on the Belsimtek and Leatherneck page but crickets. I posted in the 2.0 bugs and problems page and the post got moved to "wishlist". I'm not sure how a normally occurring/ expected function is a wish, but I digress. All I'm looking for is a "we're aware of this and working on it" from somebody who knows or even a decent workaround. I like the kneeboard function and admittedly rely on it a bit heavily but since the navaids in the map are still getting worked up (I'm willing to wait on that :) ) it is the easiest way to find yourself between waypoints. As always I'm very appreciative of any assistance one could give. I love DCS and can't wait to see what comes next. Best, -Climber

I wonder if we will ever get a functional kneeboard back. Several modules are missing it at the moment in 2.0. I've made several posts and no responses yet...

No kneeboard maps for F-86, Mig-21, and Mig-15.
granola1861 replied to granola1861's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Why did this get moved to wishlist??? Isn't an operating kneeboard a function of the existing game? I posted it because it seems to be crossing modules and others have been having the same issues with very little signs of true assistance being provided. I'm kind of turned off by this event. If something else is needed for the bug report I would be happy to provide it, but don't put this on the back burner. -Climber -
I've posted in other forums and I have run across some "fixes" but none have been successful for me yet. Is this something being looked into? Is there a simple fix that I can do in order to have maps on my kneeboards? I'm not a programmer and don't really wanna write code for a fix on a game :smilewink: On the Mig-21 the info pages are still there from previous versions (RSBN numbers for Baltic map, ARC numbers, etc). Thanks much in advance folks. -Climber
