While that is true, the Su-30 has a crew of 2. Besides the fact DCS does not yet support that, the front of the plane is larger and that might require tweaking the flight model(which is beyond my skill)

I was thinking about how hard it would be to make a Su-27SM model after the Su-27 PFM comes out, so I have some questions about the differences -Did they change the location of the IRST or was that only done to the SU-35? -Are there any changes to the airframe or engine? -Was the radar warning system changed, and the radar itself? -Was a radar placed in the tail boom? -What do the MFDs display? What other known significant differences are there?

From the September newsletter: "Su-27 for DCS World As we did for the F-15C, we will be updating the Su-27 for DCS World to include a Professional level flight model. Development of this updated Flanker is well underway and will be free as part of Flaming Cliffs 3. We will also sell the Su-27 for DCS World as a separate download later in 2014." Later in 2014, at least we now know the maximum waiting time left is 3 months.

I am writing these questions as someone who is interested in the warthog but has read about the issues it has, so the answers can help me and others interested in buying it. Do the new devices still brick and need a PCB change, or is that the old batch? Is there anyway of avoiding bricking? Is greasing necessary if one does not fly helicopters? Is it a risky process? Is getting an extension that helpful? What things does it make easier? Thank you

That's what I read, but tbh I do not know what rotary controls are (google didn't help me out a lot), what are they mostly used for? How much does one lose if they're not there?

I am looking for a replacement for my Logitech joystick as it doesn't have that many functions. I was considering the saitek x55 but from the reviews it seems to be plagued with quality issues. I am left with the warthog (I don't want CH because I don't like their throttles), but it seems that most people find it less useful when flying A2A jets like the F-15 or Su-27. Is that true? I was considering using a one hat for trim, another for moving the target box in BVR, and another for radar slewing. Is doing that possible?

Given that when purchasing FC3 the module for the F-15 doesn't also light up, I'm wondering if at one point the F-15c(or the future AFM models) will become independent from FC3. (It would be cool if the f-15 module lights up as the soundtrack is cool:D)

OB1 how can the Su-27 jam without pods? AFAIK it does not have a built in jammer.

Sorry for the dumb questions but assuming I see the initial smoke and deduce a missile was fired. How do I force it to bleed of the energy? Can you point me to a list of tactics if one exists? The other way I've forced it to miss besides a high g turn is by diving sharply when the smoke trail ends(i.e. when it does not generate any more energy, is that pitbull?) then climbing back up. When I change to its view it starts climbing but runs out of energy and dives to the ground.

Exorcet , turning at high g seems to work 3/2 it just misses when that is done, nevertheless it is a new technique which I highly thank you for teaching me:D. What I can't get my head around is why doesn't the lock break when a standard notch is done, seems it might need tweaking.

I have watched the video, but it seems the mechanics have changed. The missile turns much faster and I only get a radar warning when the missile becomes very close. I do not even get a radar lock warning. I have attached the mission if you would like to try it.

So I'm trying the attached mission in the file while assuming I don't know I have a f-14 coming my way. The only thing I get hear is the radar warning me that I am being scanned(no lock, or incoming missile) once the missile gets really close the radar changes to an incoming missile warning. It seems when the aim-54 is that close neither notching or doing an orthogonal roll will help dodge it(while using chaff of course). I turned off the ecm because I thought it might have HOJ. I tried pulling up assuming it would not have enough energy to follow because the AI fires the second the mission begins, but pressing f6 shows its still moving at mach1+ . :helpsmilie: I was only able to dodge it once by notching, but it seems to fail every time now. Edit: If you decide to load the mission, make sure you set the AI's skill level to excellent otherwise it might now even bother holding the lock. abBVR - F14 x1.miz

Hello, in the su-25t when I select landing mode I usually get a number which allows me to identify the airfield. Is there something like this in the flanker, not necessarily a number but a way to identify the airfield?

Hello, I am having some issues: I followed the instructions in the txt file, however the cockpit became completely black. I am not using any other cockpit mods for the su-27. Great mod idea btw!:D Edit: For some reason placing the file unzipped made it work. The mod is great, thank you a lot!
