One of radiator flaps animation don't open
Siegfried replied to Siegfried's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
Ok, sniped by Yo-yo. Thanks. When I was collecting all these pictures I realized the detail of the air intake and now I see the explanation. -
One of radiator flaps animation don't open
Siegfried replied to Siegfried's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
In this photo looks like the left side that flap is closed. But in this other looks like the flap is open in two Doras. Another left side flap closed. Strange. The right flap is closed all photos but the left flap sometimes open and sometimes closed. I guess that maybe is for the compressor air intake is behind right side and that flap remains closed for not break the airflow. -

Thanks for find that. Now I will go to search photos from de left side of the plane. -
Is the end of the world yet? Can I already start with plundering supermarkets and kill people for loot gasoline?

Ok. I don't know. But the other side too? I cant remember if this was before, but as I have seen the left side opened I guessed that one or the other are wrong. Maybe the bug is the other side open when it should not. In any case it is strange. -
It will be in the future fuel in this tank selectable like DCS 109K4? In the Dora DCS manual says about functionality like contens selector and drain to exterior valve when you enters in combat zone. I see a hole for place a flare gun right to oxigen indicators. There will be a function for add or remove a flare gun in flight and shoot flares? Like the camera en MiG21 that you can put or quit in place in flight with a switch in the cockpit. Of course, add this feature for 109, P51 and others planes that have a hole for flare guns.

When I look at external model I see one radiator flap don't move and stay closed. The flap is the right side just in front of exhaust tubes. I think that is new bug of 1.2.16 but I can´t be sure.

I can't to live with this high priority full show stopper icon bug. Fix soon please Aviodev!!!

Look at cockpit pressurize system in you right side down. If activated, the canopy don't close fully or don't open if it was closed. If indicate red, yellow or blue is activated.

More testing. Go at 1.78ata full throttle with MW50 on and running and then select kraftstoff and the MW50 pressure gauge drop to zero. Start to time counting the engine stops at 2.5 minutes aprox. Half time that at 1.4ata. If I go at 1.1 ata 1900rpm the stops reach at 4 minutes. I observed that the fuel pressure gauge don't drop when engine stops. I try flight inverted after the engine fail due a MW50 contamination and the fuel pressure drops in 4 seconds. When I fly leveled again, the fuel pressure rise again. Engine windmilling moving the fuel pumps I guess. This seems simulate the fuel system run but the fuel is bad quality by MW50 contamination. Another test is with B4 in rear tank, I can fly indefinitely without troubles with MW50 selected and the system activated at full throttle 1.78ata. But when you have B4 in rear tank, the MW50 system pressure don't rise. I think that the airplane don't know what fluid the tank have and should inject B4 at compressor. This event should trigger bad things at engine? Another thing, I don't know if the engine uses the fuel in rear tank when you have B4 and select kraftstoff. The fuel gauge seems move soon.

Three times consecutives I tested and three times my engine stops at 4 minutes. Always that I try this, I get engine stops. In mission editor select MW50 and start in the air at 2000 meters for example. Select kraftstoff in cockpit and set the engine 1.4 ata 2500rpm. Rpms auto and mw50 sistem is on but never go to full power. Anyway if select kraftstoff and go to full power, the MW50 pressure don't raise. 4 minutes later the engine stops but keeps windmill, not seizure. Other details I noted when motor stops by MW50 contamination. If I go climb untl the propeller stops, when dive at 500km/h it don't start to windmill again. Pitch 11:30-12:30 o'clock. If I dive after engine stops, set the propeler pitch at 12:30, the engine seizure at more of 3500rpm. How expected.

When I have MW50 and change MW50/krafstoff to fuel mode, in 4 minutes the engine stops. I think that MW50 mix with fuel in tank and gasoline is contaminated with methanol and water. I had testing this just now. 1.2.16 with fridays patch and previous versions too.

I use 1.2.16 with friday patch and earlier versions also had this problem. This analog axis are bugged or wrong and useless in its actual state. Strange behaviour: - Flaps. - Vertical stab. The following move very fast without accuracy. If I set Y saturation to 1 they move better but weird way. - FUG16ZY volume. - FUG16ZY fine tune. - Set altimeter pressure. - Compass course. - Clock turn scale. And Engine RPM should not be analog axis I think. Other axis like ammo counters, brightness of gunsight and UV cockpit lights are fine.
-
Open beta 1.2.16 with friday patch works fine for me.

Only a few questions. If you add a volume of water and methanol in compressor with the same air, there's not a increase of pressure by reduction of volume available for air? Or maybe this is compensated by cooling effect the hot compressed air? cold air more dense and less pressure. Or maybe that is the little increase in ATA when MW50 activates. Sorry if I dont explain well, english not my native language. Anyway, when I go full throttle at 1.75 ATA without MW50 activated, I can go many minutes, more 10 minutes without engine fault. I thought that MW50 is intended more for sustained full power and not for reach that full power. If I can go +10 minutes 1.75 with or without MW50, what is the reason for MW50? Another question. I think that MW50 with wrong rear tank contens in kraftstoff causes that fuel tank being contaminated with water metanol and after a few minutes the engine stops. I check that but otherwise, when I select MW50 and I have fuel in rear tank nothing occurs at full power. MW50 system on but the motor go many minutes without fault. I think that in both cases the engine breaks according to the manual. I have to add that I have not done very extensive testing and I know that this plane is BETA now. Just to clarify, I'm just wondering, not hunting for phantom bugs.

It has already been established by yo-yo months ago that we have a K4 with inertial starter. Anyway, you can go to options and assign a key for crank inertial starter without use comms that in fact is the same for practical purposes. The engine of your photo probably is not our K4. There were many variables at the end of the war and probably not all documented.

Control stiffening makes this thing flyable.
Siegfried replied to BFBunny's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Your new schematics shows an external view of components. The pump can be install over, behind, below the tank or in the tail, but the suction point is a hose or pipeline that take fuel from bottom tank. If you take fuel from other position you have starvation when the fuel level drops below that point. That schematics are from G2, not K4 and shows none system that permits inverted flight. The ability for take negative G instantaneous manouver don't means prolonged more that various seconds. That was for inyection fuel system, not fuel feed system. Sorry for my bad english, and the offtopic. -
Noooo! Do you mean that 20th is Ragnarok day?

Any Ju88 or variants are fine with me. Or any german attack/bomber twin engine. Ummm well A-26 it's ok too and flew over Korea too, and Vietnam. Give me twin engines ED pleaseeee!!! :joystick:

There is no way to start up without ground crew?
Siegfried replied to gomwolf's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
I have maped a key in my HOTAS for crank inertial starter without go to the ground communications. I don't remember where it is, in engine section maybe. -
Pilot's view position when gunsight up and down
Siegfried posted a topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
There's possibility for the Pilot's view position don't change when I up/down the gunsight like before 1.2.14? I have trackir and don't need and bothers me this new feature. Thanks -
Somebody had noted elevator trim was changed in 1.2.16 or it's placebo effect from me? Now is more nose heavy with all stab forward in all speeds.

With due respect you are wrong. That schematics shows that P2 fuel pump is not electrical inside fuel tank and all fuel pump take fuel from bottom forward and rear tank. Electrical internal pump is in the same line that P1 fuel pump and take fuel from rear bottom tank. P2 fuel pump take from forward bottom tank.
