  1. Hi guys, I have the same problem and just found this thread. Maybe someone can have a look at my crash log and tell me what went wrong. Singleplayer works just fine. MP is good on Caucasus but when I join a Syria server i usually CTD within the first few seconds after spawning in my plane. This is a fresh DCS install with no mods.   2. even a Tranche 1 block 5 will blow everything we have right now completely out of the water when it comes to A2A. Reading the wiki page is scary. RWR that can measure the distance to the enemy & launch AMRAAMS without a radar lock, IRIS-T 360 degree capability guided by the RWR, a very good radar coupled with insane T/W ratio, maneuverability, supercruise and the DASS protection system..
  3. This a thousand times. I would be more than just impressed with a pretty complete Tranche 1 Block 5 (I.e. full A2A functionality). The EF was developed as a pure air superiority fighter (all the multirole requirements came later), so having those things accurate is far more important for me then the A2G stuff the later blocks get.

  5. That depends on which tranche we’re getting. Iirc IRIS-T digital was available with tranche 2
  6. I guess that depends heavily on which tranche they can do. Iirc even the tranche 1 block 5 EFs have HMDs though
  7. Holy crap this is so amazing. As a fellow German I finally have the chance to fly a virtual EF while I sometimes still wonder if I should have tried to become a jet pilot in the GAF irl..
  8. All in all pretty similar. Germany uses IRIS-T, Britain uses ASRAAM. Germany doesn’t have the PIRATE IR-pod. Germany uses Taurus cruise missiles, Britain uses Shadow Storm (not that it matters, I don’t expect that we get such a late model) and no Brimstones.
  9. I think Deka stated somewhere that the DL only works between JF-17s for now and not with AWACS. Something with the api or some other stuff that I don’t understand:D
  10. Do you mean the 2 little dots next to the course line indicator? Those are the 4° / 8° error dots showing you how far of course you are

  12. The Huey landed in the town and picked up Teeter, after that I got the message that I could RTB, together with all the other flights. I have to admit that I skipped the mission now via logbook editing. I love the campaign, but flying that mission for a 4th time would have been to much for me :D
  13. Thanks for your answers guys. I contacted Vaziani tower before landing. In the campaign logbook it says that i scored "50" in that mission. Is that maybe not high enough? I didn't kill any of the mission objectives (except the mi8) myself, because I accidently jettisoned my rockets :D So the targets were killed by the other planes using the f10 menu.
  14. Hey guys, I absolutly love the M2K campagin! But I am stuck at mission 8 (the ELINT one). I do everything as told, kill all the bad guys and wait for Teeter to be rescued. I then get told over radio that I may RTB, which I did twice now. I even flew over the other waypoints listed in the misison briefing. I don't get any more calls / communication via radio and after landing at Vaziani the mission was not successfull. I am sure I am missing something, can you guys tell me what? Thanks so much

  16. I am having the exact same problem, mission screen loads for hours. I will test the saved games approach as well when I get home tonight
  17. Thanks, I will try that. But in the missions where this happened (e.g mini campaign #3 I slowed down after takeoff to let them catch and didn't maneuver mutch. I'll report back when I still observe the same results :)
  18. Disclaimer: this is not about the rb04/rb15 ai bug or their inability to fly low. In various missions I had my ai comrades eject shortly after reaching the target area simply because they ran out of fuel. Often I hear their "bingo fuel" message when I am still at 80-100% fuel. I have no clue what they are doing to use so much fuel, it almost feels like they fly with stage 3 ab all the time and use their air break to stay slow :D Am I doing something wrong with setting them up correctly or did some of you guys have similar experiences?
  19. I love the AFK! I land with it every time and I did not have a Problem at all, neither in TILS or visual mode. I even think the Viggen is one of the most easy planes to land because of the afk and thrustreverser :)
  20. I really like the idea of Nr. 3, too bad I only flew the Viggen solo so far. But maybe that will change in the future. I never thought about shooting in "panic mode", sounds like a good last minute idea ;)
  21. I would love a ww2 scenario again but round 9 if it is implemented with the posted settings sounds really fun as well. In all other rounds blue had the cap advantage, now it is the other way around. I will always fly red, but it will be great not to be the underdog for once. I guess m2k was moved to red because of the stacking issues, I think it is worth a test. If it doesn't work out we can move it back to blue in the following rounds. While a Korean or Vietnam round sounds fun, I think there could be some problems regarding server population. I don't own any of the planes that would fly there and sadly don't have the money for a mig21 right now, especially since I have to save up for the typhoon :). I read a lot about modern air warfare and it is stated often that most engagement would end up in a dogfight since the rules of engegament demand a visual iff confirmation. Since we can't limit the use of radar missiles to be used only after visual iff, I think a ir only round is not at all unrealistic.

  23. Yes, that's what I thought (and wrote). I'm just answering to the guy that said f5s won't have a chance now because they have to fight m2ks and that blue now has to rely on f15s that need to travel far to get to the action. I just pointed out that the su27 has the same problem and even worse, ha to fly slow to to fuel limitations.
  24. Well and in the round before it was f5 + m2k versus f21. Is that fairer? Now it is just the other way around. Btw, did the m2k not spawn further away from the targets? Meaning only f5 and f21 in forward bases?
  25. Don't forget that the su27 has to fly for the same time as well. Likely longer, because it has to watch its fuel and can't cruise over the entire map with ab unless you want to land and refuel as soon as you reach the target area. So the f5 fights mig21s just like last round. With only ir missiles I would even call that a buff to the tiger.
