Some modules are still in beta and have had sale reductions of 70% or more. The F-86 from Belsimtek is one such module in beta I only bought because of a Steam sale and never plan to operate it again in DCS past the initial sale. That module was discounted in beta by 70% and retails for about $50 so I feel for anyone who bought it at regular price. Also makes one wonder how a beta can be reduced by so much.

They have already lost me as a customer ... period. I know the color of this room's walls and have been there before.

What is due time to you? A year? Five years? Ten or how about twenty? How old am I? How intelligent are you? Your attitude exemplifies the reason not only I but others are getting fed up. Testing? I am software developer and there is no such thing as a permanent beta program for anything. The speed of other projects coming out of beta just proves my point.

Documentation is wonderful but I would prefer present documentation and no training missions (by now I have no need for them anyway) in exchange for the Mi-8 bombing gunsight, infantry showing up in my copter, sling load operations, more weapon options, more paint schemes, and more features period. For the UH-1, I would prefer to see infantry in my chopper, more weapon options, ability to replace wounded gunner, more accurate gunning by AI, more paint schemes, complete sling loading, and more features period. The documentation I have for the UH-1 is fine. I expect a focus more on completing your pema-beta helicopters (btw Leatherneck is updating their product...) and a focus on delivering me more of what I want. It matters not to me the difficulty because I already paid for your products not a beta but as complete. Show that good-faith I placed in you by purchasing your product and deliver. While you are at it, I would appreciate a focus on delivering an Mi-24 Hind which I would be happy to even help back (fund) before betaing any other project.

Congratulations ED and thank you for more attention to the Flanker. I do enjoy it but notice a few things I do not like. For one, when I am at a runway approach speed of 280 kms/h, the aircraft is inducing pilot induced longitudinal instability that yields large roll input on small corrections. This is entirely caused by the automatic application of rudder which further exacerbates the situation. I note this primarily because I am used to relying on small roll corrections without the use of rudder to correct lineup. At 280 kms/h and below, the aircraft is already entering minimum controllable airspeed and a slow approach speed ensures no bounce and soft touch. Secondly, the aircraft requires the use of trim almost as if that is my primary flight control than pitching the aircraft with the stick. This tends to present an aggravated acceleration after takeoff that can even result in pilot induced oscillation about the lateral axis. Also, the aircraft flies as if it is on a cushion of air ... floating if you will. I actually feel as though I should set my Y-axis to the trim rather than the elevator. Given the aircraft's nose heavy tendency beyond 10 degrees causing the aircraft to flip onto its' back, it becomes very tricky to fly it even without disabling the limiter. Third, I appreciate penalties for rough handling the aircraft but tires popping upon full application of the brakes (W key) after 4 seconds is a bit unreal. This happens all the time and nearly under any condition. It also always seems to be the left tire. I am seriously thinking: if(w key pressed more than 4 seconds){pop left tire immediately}. There is no randomness like var popTire = Math.random() if(popTire < 05){call popLeft()} else {call popRight()} Fourth, thank you for modelling the high maneuverability of the Su-27. It has been a pleasure to test it out. Problem I see is the propensity of the aircraft to flip onto its' back and there is a high propensity to nose down at slower speeds. I want to take what I see in Youtube videos and match it to the Flanker ... I do not feel the Flanker is there yet. Fifth, did the aircraft engine power get boosted? Taxiing for me involves setting power to 80, watch a fast acceleration to 50 kms/h in under 3 seconds followed by knee-jerk reaction of power reduction, braking, that popped left tire again, and having to restart my flight. Compared to the present Su-33, the Su-27 feels like it is on steroids and even in flight I notice with power above 80, it won't decelerate until lowered below. Starting to feel like if(n1 RPM >= 80) {increase acceleration fast} else{slow plane through braking}. Yeah under 80 plane decelerates much faster than it should without brake application as if if(power lower than 80){brake aircraft to 0 kms/h through??? magic??}. I noticed the Su-25T was throttle neutral and still rolling at like 0.5 kms/h. But the Su-27 is braking like it has autobrakes. Things have changed quite a bit from the original aircraft. Sixth, again, thank you for the Beta Su-27 and I do hope you plan to continue and improve the flight dynamics. Thank you for the Su-27 since Su-27 Flanker was a product and I look forward to variants like the Su-34.

Show In-Game Static Objects on Mission Editor Su-27 Flanker and Lockon mission editors enabled satellite views and placement of all non-player placed map static objects so a user wouldn't place a Tor on a Fire Truck. Can we have these abilities back please?

Prior to the patch that was pushed after 1.2.11, the Flanker could not only taxi on the dirt but also takeoff and land on it. If this was not correct behavior and subsequently fixed, then I accept that. However, the aircraft was designed to taxi, land, and takeoff on dirt, wet dirt, dry dirt, dirt. Speaking of dirt, it seems to be a black hole for some aircraft and for others no big thing for others. I thought it was great the Flanker had dirt properties. Can you please put the dirt back on the Flanker?

What I am thinking. They produced helicopter FMs and just slapped em on the ED F-15C and the F-86. Then they modified the parameters. Makes sense since a Helo can perform a 360 turn while never deviating flight path2

The OP might be hinting at a larger issue related to quality or perhaps a lack thereof. In addition, the alpha and beta period is where the update is vetted for regresson as well as the present change. That is what testing is and would prevent introducing new issues with each release. I don't know what software development methodologies ED employs, but I would think quality testing is an integral part of it. Missing engine sound from the Sabre is a minor issue but I don't think waiting until the end of the next development iteration is appropriate. I do share the same concern with module development from third parties, the state of Beta modules, and the future of development integration. It need not be said Leatherneck is updating their module. Belsimtek is not and presently has two modules in perma-beta status which is not acceptable when major changes 8are needed. I hope to see improvement and better fusion of this process especially as more modules are available for release.

Please pardon my youthful exuberance. I fell in love with Russian aviation long ago when ED was just Su-27 Flanker. I followed the simulation to DCS World and quite frankly am looking for ED and 3rd parties to produce never before or little simulated Russian airframes. I am not really looking for more Janes simulations in DCS. I grew up on over-simulated F-15s and F-16s and F/A-18s. When ED came along finally something refreshing and new. As I followed their progress, I became ever more interested in Russian aviation. Please pardon my attempts to see more Russian aviation represented in DCS.

Accuracy not needed or large time expenditure for DCS... just mod few files (instructions publicly available) and presto ... Hind with Hokum pit. This is not what I want! I don't imply it is easy but surprised not already in DCS. Belsimtek put out beta Mi-8 and I hope they follow on with Hind.
-
Have you observed how many steam gauges are in the hind? Of course you haven't. You know nothing of it or how the airframe is shared with the Mi-8.
-
Mi-24 Hind In my opinion, the Mi-24 Hind should have already been implemented in DCS. I have seen 3D mesh of the gunner's seat done by ED. This is a Russian helicopter that was featured prominently in the Afghan war and is quite frankly way overdue. The lack of attention given to the Mi-24 by ED is appalling. This helicopter is by no means a complex project and the instrumentation primitive at best. There is an AI version as well. I am not sure I understand the reasonable neglect occurring but this helo should be modeled now.

Dora Vert Stab and Propwash This may have been asked before but I was curious why there appears insufficient propwash hitting the tail to allow yaw movement during a taxi? Taxi is very break heavy and wondering if three-bladed prop is just not providing enough force at low rpm? I watched videos of Dora and seems to be more then sufficient.

Mig-21 exhibits similar tendencies during landing at about 400 km/hr. Without a level touchdown at less than 5m/s the craft is likely to rock violently side to side and possibly break a wing and flip.
-
Is the Hind so super-secret or is it just not a worthy entrant to the DCS world? Russian helo for crying out loud!

I am interested in learning Lua and applying knowledge to a development project. Any Git Hubs have open branches or projects needing a programmer?

Funny thing is I performed the fix steps and discovered that the cyclic is oscillating and when looking at the control helper the T asix is bobbing up and down. With it off I am able to hold a perfect hover so I am happy as it is.

Mi-24 Hind ... vote option missing!

Not to resurrect bygone eras of days past was the intent of my post and certainly not to speak ill of WWII aircraft as the mods have changed the title of my post to imply but to express an opinion that is not shared only by myself but held by many others with equal concern for the last vestige of military flight simulation that will probably never exist again given the quality and investment once the torch passes from ED/TFC. Therefore my concern is that DCS continues to be what Su-27, for those that were present in the beginning, promised to the culmination of DCS now and there is care in the development approach. No, I do not think WWII and time spent on it in the presence of aged open feature requests is right but I do plan to purchase the German planes. If ED/TFC can pull it off, wonderful but I do hope they give more earnest attention to multiplayer crew, flight models, EDGE, etc. in favor of what I consider a side project they adopted though I understand why they did. Also, beyond WWII, how will 3rd party development and this early beta engine run when these projects feel like abandonware? I will support it but, like others, remain leeary of it.

I did that. Embarking/disembarking are advanced waypoint actions. I added waypoints for the infantry to follow. They never followed them unless they were searching for enemies but that is the reason I gave them the waypoints to follow leading directly to the enemy.
-
Well, select helicopter in editor, add advanced action, Perform task, Embarking, and use distribution

Gents, I have put together a small mission to train myself on Mi-8 and UH-1 including troops. I have discovered how to embark and disembark troops but yet to discover how to utilize them once they are delivered. Though they have movement waypoints, once they disembark, I observe a beeline headed back to base. Real downer such cowardice ruins mission. So, how do I control them?

Impasioned Plea for the NATO codeword... Hind ... yes the Mil 24 Hind. Not only is the above mentioned video a beautiful example of Mil 8 Hip airmanship in a flight of three but there, leading the flight is a Mil 24 NATO codeword Hind. What a beautiful war machine it is. Able to carry troops, same as the Bell UH-1 Huey and Mi-8 but sport an impressive array of firepower. This helicopter is multi-crew (as is the Mi-8) and could be simulated easily with the pilot and a simulated gunner. Don't say this is not possible as Digital Integration has already demonstrated this with their Mi-24 Hind simulation. What a great compliment to the Mi-8 with a Hind. I know, I know but what about the McDonald Douglas AH-64-D Apache or the Bell AH-1 Cobra? Third party development! I don't know about you but I do much helo in DCS multiplayer and disappointed given all the many years opportunity for this helicopter, being a Russian bird and DCS made by Russians, has escaped module status and is thus relegated to AI only for the moment. Yes, I have moded DCS to make the Hind flyable using the Ka-50 cockpit but no, that is not the same. There might still be opportunity and I hope there is to make this bird come to life in DCS. :joystick: :pilotfly:

Indeed. During off-line play single mission they are fine and during online play they are messed up. I am having an autopilot issue on single I don't have on multiplayer. Funny how all this works.
