  1. Yes :) they buttons will be available for purchase as a stand alone kit :)
  2. Oh yes. As mentioned this is only a 3D printed Demo version, used to verify that the screen and everything fits nicely. The finished products will look like the real thing, made from milled black acrylic, with engraved buttons. And there will be no runs on these, they will permanently for sale in the webshop :) How exactly the finished product are going to be assembled is still not clear, we are going to try some different approaches to see whats most efficient and price effective. The same goes for the UFC, which i only still have the Old prototype to show you from my main thread https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2412625&postcount=91 This is the same look the CDU will gain in the finished product, all tho it will be with more contrast to the engravings, on both buttons and faceplate.
  3. Okay, it sounds like Tactile Switches with Click is the clear answer :) so thats what i will continue with. Dont have too much to show you, but here is a picture of the first 3D printed Test Model of the CDU... Only for calculating space and room for Screen and electronics etc. The finished product will NOT be 3D printed, but milled out of Acrylic.
  4. Hello Guys. It has been a while since i have come with an update, but i assure you, that im working on alot of things behind the scenes :) And i hope to show you some more in my thread soon. As the work on the UFC and the CDU are on the last stages of design before comming up with a new prototype that i can show you, i have a question for all of you who would be interested in these devices. Do you guys want Tactiles switches that have allmost no travel and do the click at the bottom? Or do you want Push switches with more travel which are soft without clicks like keyboard switches? And im asking this because im not sure how the military devices is originally, but i have heard that the civilian aircrafts use soft switches without clicks. Please let me know what you guys think, before i go further with the design.
  5. Uhhh, thats one awesome found. Great Job M8 :) I agree... i shouldnt be hard to rewire it :)
  6. A couple of pictures of some of the things that im working on for the Huey. Instrument Eyebrow Light Posts These are 3D printed to keep the price down.... I can mill them out, but it will add to the cost. And yes, you can install LED's in them so they work :) These will be available in the shop soon. And Light Caps for the Upcomming Huey Panels. I know its not much... but in time more will arrive :)
  7. Happy New Year Everyone. Because you can choose to buy Backplate and Panels alone, and make your own "button Box" or panel setup, or simply want the same functions for your home setup without buying the CUB, We of course release the Firmware Code with all the functions it has. the Code is free for anyone to edit to suit their needs, and if you guys make a new version of the code that you think other should benefit from, we can easily put it for download on our website. The CUB1 Code is available for downloade here: http://lynx.dk/cub-firmware/ And a guide to install also follows.

  9. We have Finalized the CUB 1 Firmware V.1.0 and will release it very soon. We have no plan on taking donations for this... Like our Blueprints and Drawings we release for free, we do it because we think its fun, and its our Hobby. Plus we wouldnt take money for something made for Arduino that is Open Source :)
  10. Since its been mentioned a couple of time here now, i will just confirm that the Arduino firmware code for our CUB Buttons Boxes will be released soon on our website. For free of course. This Code is made for Arduino Leonardo, and has some really nice features, one of them being able to choose if normal On-Off Switches should be On-Off or On-On... and likewise the On-Off-On, can also be made On-On-On. But it is only momentary switch inputs, like Sokol1_br said, not holding switch functions. The code is of course set up for the CUB, which means it also has a function of saving 4 switch settings to the unit, that you can load in if you switch to another plane / Game. But eveyone can download the code, and adjust it for their needs. we will problaly release different firmwares on our web in time, since you can just buy the Backplate and the Panels for the CUB in our shop, and mount it with our DZUS Rails, or simply screw them into a frame wherever you want. And then use your own Arduino Leonardo to make a custom button box. then people can make their own switch setup, which recalls for different firmwares. :) Anyway, this wasnt suppose to be a commercial input, but simply state that the function you seek might be found in our Coding. :)
  11. A little update before we run out of 2016. As some may have noticed, there have been a stand still in this thread, and that is because we have used quite some time to get the CUB's Ready for sale. As this is now a reality, we can continue where we left the A-10C, the consoles and the Panels. We have the Elec Panel ready, we just need to make a few tests with some engraving then they will be available in the shop, and we expect that to be after new year. Some people may ask why panel have taken so long... and that i would like to answer. We are trying to make a product in different "classes" and we want them all to be able to share the same backplates, casings etc. Therefore we have to make and test all before we can release one. The pictures i have shown earlier in this thread of the ELEC panel, is the least expensive panel, then there will be other versions, with embedded Backlight inside the Panel Lightplate itself, but also more contrast on the engravings. Along with the panels follows the Right and Left Consoles... where the right console are allmost ready, we just need to make a mouting possebility for the Canopy Handle in the outer right side. The plans for the Consoles will of course be free to download on our website, so you can cut them by hand, or get a company to cut them for you. We are also trying to work out a shipping agreement, so we can ship out Precut MDF Sheets World Wide, without the shipping being too expensive... however this is not a done deal yet, and we cant foresee what the prices will be. Further i can tell you that we are also working on replacement panels for the Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle, so that you end up with the panels looking like the rest of the cockpit, and not that shiny black surface they come with. These will also come with my DZUS Replicas. In these panels we are also trying to make new Backlight, so you will be able to dimmer the Throttle along with the rest of the panel in the cockpit, and that its all the engravings that are backlit, and not only some of them, like it is now. However, this is also a Work in Progress, so if we accually achieve the backlight... tho i cant promise for sure, i will be showing pictures in this thread. For those of you using the Throttle for other planes than the A-10C, we can make custom engravings, and easily swappable panels, like the CUB, so you can get whatever writings you want. Sadly i have no new pictures to show you at this point, but i will have soon. As allways, if you have questions, feel free to ask, and i will answer the best i can.
  12. Thank you all. Here is a little information. We are laying the final work in the Firmware programming. Which will be version 1.0 , and will be loaded in the first units we send out. This firmware makes it possible to make the Toggle switches, ON-ON switches that send 2 different switch impules to the game when you turn it on and off. But of course also chose the switch to send the same switch pulse when turned on as when turned off. The same thing can be programmed for the ON-OFF-ON Switches, so you can send a unique impuls to the game in each position, so it will work as a ON-ON-ON, which is what is needed for the A-10C AHCP panel fx. The ON-OFF-ON whitches can also work as normal, like 2 switch positions, and 1 Off. We have chosen to remove the Holding switch function, which makes the switch active until its turned off, this is because we didnt see the need of it, as all games supports key presses, and thats simular to joystick presses. However, if someone really would want the holding function, we can easily provide a firmware update that gives you that function. As a final option for these CUB's, we make it possible for people to program individual switches to be On-Off and On-On, like the On-Off-On to be On-On-On, so you can choose a single switch to function as a On-On, and the rest as Normal toggle switches. We have made it possible to save 4 configurations in the CUB, so you can switch the configurations depending on what you play or use it for. And that can be switches very easily by holding down the 2 Push Buttons for 5 seconds. All these functions should rule out the need for any third part software, to manage the switch on and off functions. This is it for now, we are sending the first order very soon, we just need to get this Firmware complete ready before loading them in and packing them up :)
  13. Matbog has started one. :) Look here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=167586
  14. Yes, you can choose whatever Engravings you want... by chosing Custom engraved Panels. The top panels are easy to switch out... when you switch planes too. The CUB itself comes without panels, then you choose whatever panel you want.... you can even choose transparent, and then print your own... which then can still be backlit. http://lynx.dk/product-category/products/button-boxes/cub-panels/
  15. It is true that not many games support the on-off, but wants Momentary switches instead. In my CUB Box, we have made it possible for the on-off and the on-off-on switches to work as momentary switches. and also made it, so the user can program the switches as he likes, fx, you can get a On-Off switch to send the same key press when its turned on as when its turned off. But you can also get it to send one key press on the On function, and a totally other keypress in the Off Function.... this way we made it possible for them to be On-On switches, and also On-Off.... and the same thing goes for the On-Off-On switches, they can also be On-On-On switches... And you are able to pre program 4 settings that you can switch between, if the setup if different from plane to plane, or game to game :)
  16. As an alternatvie can you break up the stick to the bare PCB, and then solder wires over the tactile switches on the PCB, to toggle switches placed in build Button Box, or sheet of wood. I did exactly that with alot of Logitech Joysticks before i became more "serious" in the cockpit building. I dont have any pictures of it tho... but i might have the PCB with the wires still soldered on somewhere. :)
  17. Korn has a real seat, so yea, in time we will release those too :)
  18. Yea it slopes up a little more than the throtte, and it will be possible to tilt a CUB to sit like the panel in front of the throttle does :)
  19. The outer Row of panels tilts 16.5 Degrees up to the side. and the Front inner Panels tilts 14 degrees up to the front. In the picture below which is the left side, the Throttle also tilts up.. if someone want it... i could make a connection for the CUB that makes the throttle tilt also.
  20. Hey Everyone. Kornskydiver And i have been working together on getting some plans and sim products for the Bell Huey on the market. As with all my projects, the plans will be free for everyone to download, and the Instrument Bezels, Panels and accessories will later on be available in my Webshop. I will be posting pictures and news in this thread, and like allways, you are all most welcome to help out with inputs and ideas. I can tell you that The MIP, the Instrument Bezels and panels are all measured and designed from the real thing. We will start by posting the Drawings for the Main Instrument Panel. http://lynx.dk/blueprints/Huey%20MIP%20Real%20Instruments%20v.1.0.dxf This is the DXF. File for the Main Instrument Panel, and its measured from a real Piece. As there are many details and versions of the Huey MIP, this is labelled V.1.0 There might be other, and updated versions if i change something. The Main Instrument Panel Drawing is made ready for the Lamp posts i sell in my Webshop for the A-10C, as they are the same in the Huey. The MIP will be available in 1:1 Printable PDF also, like the A-10C. Here is the link to the Huey Download Section of my site: http://lynx.dk/downloads/huey-plans-blueprints/ This is it for now, hope you guys like this :) ... will get back with more later.
  21. Thank you very much :) right now my idea was to make the sloped angles as they are in the A-10C, are there any wishes for the angles to be steeper, or maybe its too much?
  22. That is a very good question. Yes we have SPDT Switches on the cub, and the truth is that DCS is made so you cant do it without some help. Personally i use a Neat Free program that is called SV Mapper which can be downloaded here: https://sites.google.com/site/mjoy16/download The idea is to open the program, switch your switch on and off so you can find the button you need to program in the list. When you have located it in the list "turning red on and off" you simply double click in the "mapped key on release" table relating that switch and set a Keyboard press... Fx. B. Then you save in top left corner, and start DCS. Go into controls, and choose the Arduino switch on-position for Master Arm, and the other Arduino Switch on-position for Train, by simply flipping the switch in to the positions you want the functions to be. And then choose the Keyboard command B for the SAFE. Now with the SV Mapper software running in the background, you will successfully have all 3 Postitions of the MASTER ARM switch. However, there are some limits with the SV Mapper... it will only see 3-4 Game Controller.... which will become a problem if you have more than that hooked to your computer.... which most guys have since they have Throttle and Joystick etc. There might be other Software that supports this, and if anyone know any, that is tested and have the keypress on release feature, feel free to write here and let us know :) But to eliminate this with the CUB, we are woking on a Programming for the Arduino, which will give the On postition of a switch one Keypress, and the Off Position of a switch a completely different keypress. This will make the computer think you have 38 buttons on your CUB, and will only work with momentary key press Setup, but that shouldnt be a problem... HOWEVER, we are still working on this, and if we succeed and when its done, it will be up for download, so people can load it into their CUB / Arduino Leonardo Themselves. But please dont hang me up on this Programming, because its a Work in Progress... but we are aware of the need for it in DCS :)
  23. Thank you :) Im working on getting the connection brackets ready so the panels can "tilt" in different directions. The Backlight on/off and "Dimmer" CUB is on the drawing board, and will hopefully soon be available.... You will definately see Rotary encoders. In the CUB 2 there will be encoders, and also switches.... the design i posted earlier will be modified, so you can see it soon. But the CUB 2 will be a unit fro itself, so panels from the CUB 1 dosnt fit the CUB 2 and the other way... The cub 2 will have its own panel Setup :) But again, engravings can be customized And the functions you have worked on Falke, with the VHF/UHF Radio version for the Flaming Cliffs, are also in the works. But its going to take 2 Arduino's to get enough Connections, so that particular version might have 2 USB cables running from it.
  24. Thank you everyone. And all you who supported this, and where interested in this, thank you... without you this would never have come this far. But we are not finished.... now we will work on the Accessories, the connection brackets, so you can angle the Unit, Backlight Dimmer Module and more panels.... If you guys still have ideas, let me know... :) The programming of the Arduino has been made so 2 different switch functions can be used. It can act as both a Steady ON connection from the ON/OFF Toggle Switches, but also a short “keypress” when the switch is turned on, and then again a short “keypress” when turned off. Its easy to switch between the 2 functions, by simply holding down the 2 black Push Buttons for 5 seconds.
  25. Roughly yes :) The CUB 1 is now ready for sale: http://lynx.dk/product-category/products/button-boxes/cubs/ and the panels: http://lynx.dk/product-category/products/button-boxes/cub-panels/ I still need to add more pictures and info on the site tho, i will do that the following days. Also the Parts for the CUB will be added later also. The DIY assembly have to wait abit, since we are not finished with the assembly plans.
