Lynx Cockpit Utility Brick "Button box"
LynxDK replied to LynxDK's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
So to get the prices up on the board again, i promised srom prices som time ago, and that was these: Plug & Play Pre Assembled Unit With Backlight, Without Panels: 1300 DKK ex.VAT and paypal Fees. DIY Assembly Kit With backlight, Without Panels: 910 DKK ex.VAT and paypal Fees. (keep in mind that clamping wires and soldering are going to be needed for assembling) Pre Designed Panel Set From Shop: 255 DKK ex.VAT and paypal Fees. Custom Designed Panel Set: 370 DKK ex.VAT and paypal Fees. Remember that EU customers are subject to VAT. :) Alltho it has proven that those prices are a little low, we intend to keep our promis, so these prices are what we are going to start with. I also promised som time ago that the first 20 or so could get Custom engraved Panels at the same price as Pre Designed panels.... and i would like to extend that promis to to say that eveyone who orders whithin the next 4 months will get custom engraved panels at the same price as pre designed panels. And as much as we would like to join the crazy "Black Friday" discounts, we simply cant... we have done eveything we can to keep the prices as low a possible, and we cant do it any better than this. I am working on getting pictures of the last products and parts ready, and then it will be possible to order from our shop. Also i will once again say, that you will have to expect 1 month from the date you order, to the date we ship, and it we get really busy.. it might be longer.... i will apologize in advance for that if that is going to be a reality, but we are only human, and we have to get everything to play together.... also our lives beside this :) But of course... if you order within the next couple of weeks, we will do whatever in our power to get it ready and shipped, so you can get it before christmas. If anyone have any questions, please dont hold back..... :) -

If we take a look inside the cub, you will see this: The whole setup is made as simple as possible, which makes it possible for those who want a DIY version to assemble it themselves, with only a few tools. In this CUB 1, its only the backlight that needs soldering. The height inside however, is very small, there is absolutely no room for anything else that what we put there. This is because we made it the same size as the Warthog Throttle, and that gave us a couple of problems to solve. Fx the Arduino sits benieth the bottom of the bottom plate, in a 3D printed Case. This is to make room for the wires to go from the Arduino to the Switches. You could solder the wires on to make more room, but that makes it more hard, and time consuming to assemble. However, for all of you guys who want to make you own, who only need the Frame and the backplate etc. Its possible to make a higher version of the frame, to give more space for another I/O card, and wiring, just let me know what you would like, and we will find a solution. -

The CUB unit Plug and Play alone looks like this from the get go, whether you have Backlight installed or not, the exterior is the same: The unit has a 3 meter USB cable, and it varies in color from black/white braided wire, to green/black braided wire. The power supply is needed if you want backlight, and is big enough to supply up to 6 CUB's, so even if someone would want 2, only 1 power supply is needed. To supply more CUB's we are looking to get some "splitter" cables in the shop, but i can also link to some on ebay which would work. Here is the Power Supply: However, please note that we dont supply a Power cable from the Outlet in you wall to the Power Supply. This is because there are many different version depending on where in the world your from, so we make it up to you, to simple get a normal cable, like the one supplying your computer with power, and plug it in the Power Supply. We are working on a "Dimmer" CUB version, which is a very small CUB, which you connect your power supply to, and then from that you supply the others, then you can turn the backlight on and off, and dimmer the light. -

Okay, so here is a little more Info with pictures :) The CUB unit is sold but itself without panels. Then you can buy some premade panels, clear panels, or get some special engraved. The CUB itself is a very simple build, a box with switches, and an Arduino with some code, that makes it show up on the Computer as a Plug and Play Joystick. Its pure plug and play, but i recommend that you download the driver from Arduino's Website. The unit can be made exactly to your needs, which means that Backlight, Panels, Power supply and accessories is all optional, and its totally up to you what you want, and what suits you needs best. Lets show some pictures of the Power connection of the CUB: Here you see the connection on the cubs bottom. The power cord fits into the hole in the bottom. And when finished, the cord runs out from benieth, and on the side: -

Thank you guys. That is unfortunate, of course i dont speak russian myself, but that need changed of course :) That is no problem, you will be able to buy the various parts that you would like, and make your own "CUB" box. :) you dont have to buy more than you need. As for the orders, im adding the different parts to the Webshop now, it might take some time tho. I also will post a little more pictures with info later today. -

Oh yes they will :) you simply place it on the CUB, and turn on the backlight: Then it will light it up. You might even want a couple of sheets of paper to block the light shining through the black.... depends on the printer i guess :) -

And if anyone want to make their own panels,. they can print them on paper, and then put them under our clear panels. Here i have printed a single sheet of the A-10C Startup panels to show how it looks. And like all our panels, they have nice round edges. The clear panels will be delivered with protective film on both sides. -

I also added some Switch guard to the Allready made A-10C Panels, so they look like this now: The switch guard are of course optional, and can be added to all custom designed panels :) -

It dosnt matter if your the only one interested, it dosnt seem like a too big of a task, and im happy to help :) The big switch top is not a problem to print, but it seems that the small black switches are the same size as normal toggle switches, so i think the best solution os to paint one black with a white dot in the end. I can of course turn a little 2.5mm "hole" in the top, so its easier to paint the dot, it will however take some time doing... taking the switch apart, turnign it in the lathe, and reassemble it. i found this document with some dimensions: http://www.zodiacaerospace.com/sites/default/files/content-files/docs-products/zodiacaerospace_toggle_switch_catalog.pdf Maybe i can even "hammer" the dot in the end of a switch lever.... ill try something :) But the black paint will problaly wear off after some use...

I you are interested in real dimensions i can help you with these: http://lynx.dk/downloads/a-10c-plans-blueprints/

Hey guys. We are no close to the release of the CUB 1, Very close Accually. Later this week i will release much more pictures of multiple cubs together and set up around the warthog throttle. I cannot tell you when we will start taking orders, but i promise you its just around the corner :) And for all those who want custom engravings on your panels, i have made this file: http://lynx.dk/blueprints/cub_1_custom_engravings_template.pdf Its a PDF File, that you can download, open with adobe reader, and then put in the engravings you want, save it and mail it to info@lynx.dk Even if your not making an order, everyone is more than welcome to fill this PDF, and mail us your idea of a good setup, for whatever plane / game it may be. I am working on a simular file in black, that you can put in the text in white, print it and cut it to shape for those who want to make their own designs to place under the Clear Acrylic Panel set i will be offering. -
It shares the same dimensions as the Digital Clock its sitting next to, i have the document here: http://lynx.dk/blueprints/A-10C%20Digital%20Clock%20Dimensions.pdf i made mine own from that, however since i wanted a working digital encoder to be seated, so the engraved dial ring around it is a little bigger than the original: u can also make that little dial as a plate that is screwed into the bezel, as i did for the f-16: I havent released a blueprint for it, since the clock is the same outer dimensions, but i can do that for you if you want :)
-
That was accualy why i asked in the first place :) If anyone was interested in this, i could work something out.
-
It seems there are many different switches in the gazelle by looking at pictures on google, could you provide a picture to show what your looking for?

Thank you :) Your right, it might not be a bad idea with a "lever" unit, maybe half the size og the current Brick. I will work on these ideas, and get back to you when i have something to show :) -
Im with JG on this one... i think it looks like one of the easiest seats to replicate. but it looks nice... :)

Thank you for the ideas guys, its much appreciated :) I will look into this, and see if i can find the best solution, the idea of a seperate module is both a good and bad idea. Of course i could make a module with more levers, so people could use them for more things. But im also thinking of trying to make a lever unit, that simply goes on top of the switch that someone would want as landing gear panel. so its still using the switch as the mechanism, but its bigger with a printed head on it. Also if somone would like to have Switch guards like the ones that ive made on my A-10C electric panels, its also a possibility, see picture below. -

The ICP will first be developed after the UFC and CDU, as again it used the same switches etc. And also after i measure the complete F-16 cockpit, so i can deliver the pieces in the real dimensions :)
