When I now try to skip a mission - the same mission is generated each time. Every time it is the same mission... However, if I run firstmission.bat it generates a different one! I can see in the folder there is an "ongoing.miz' but it's like the game reverts back to the 'firstmission'miz Whenever I exit the mission I get the following error:

Thank you for your replies. It's a shame they can't limit planes generated to a particular era!
-
I like to generate random missions for the aircraft that I won. For most aircraft this works just fine. For the Sabre / Mig this works less well because the sky is populated with aircraft that are far superior and more modern that the plane I want to fly. I want the sky to be populated with planes of a similar era to the Mig / Sabre. Is there anyway round this aside form adjusting it all manually afterwards?

Thanks for you reply. I too am using the standalone. Steam has its own built in up leveling which I can imagine might complicate matters.
-
Thanks lensman. Can I ask which pixel density you use? And which you think is best?
-
Does the resolution setting eg 1920 X 1080 for my monitor in the system settings actually have any affect over what I see in my Rift S? And indeed the performance of the VR in my Rift S? Or does the pixel density solely control that? Any answers welcome!

Please can you advise: I have just Bound some Steam keys to my DCS profile. According to the serial number checker there is a time period of (currently) 30 days associated with these keys. What does that mean? Will i have to re-activate every 30 days??? I was hoping that my Steam purchases are now permanently bound to my DCS Software...

Did you guys check your far right menu option and need to un-tick the VR headset option? I'm sure mine was enabled by default for some reason...
-
The situation improved for me - both frame rate wise and visually when I unchecked the VR headset option which bizzarely was enabled by default!!! It made a big difference. If this could catch me out, then maybe it caught some of you guys out too?

I for one enjoyed reading the OP's thoughts; they sum up my own nicely. The key idea here, which Temp89 seemingly chooses to overlook, is that DCS have provided us with a plethora of improvements so we can enjoy future modules to their fullest degree. They could have still operated while negating to make all the improvements that will come with the 2.5 update. So Temp89, just because your mum recently informed you that your suspicions were correct after all and that you are a product of a drunken fumble in a hen-house, don't take it out on the rest of us.

Please can you be a little more clear how to edit the particular .LUA files as I don't understand despite some previous experience editing such files... Particularly I don't understand what you mean by 'commented out'? I've changed my 'Effects' in the config.lua to 1 but the problem persists... -
This question concerns the fine detail of deploying a CBU97 correctly - it's not something I haven't practiced or searched for the answer before posting. OK, so if I aim my CBU97 with the default HOF (1800) by putting the aiming recticle right on the target, the bomb would hit them direct like a normal dumb bomb would. However the bomb deploys the parachutes, which I know is normal, but they seem to fall a tad short of the target - with mixed results. My question is - should I be compensating for this and overshooting the target when aiming so the parachutes fall directly upon my target? Hope this is clear - as I've been practicing and I can't decide which method is reaping the best results.

If you complete the said mission successfully then the 'Fly again' box and option should be greyed out. PS: If you just want to try some of the other camp missions - just get into the mission editor and play them through that. - (campaigns/eng folder)
-
Thank You! I'll give it a go!
-
You could on f15 Strike Eagle II ! You should be able to on this Sim imo!
-
Thanks - but I'm looking for a snap internal view as though I was in the cockpit glancing behind me...
-
Well into this Sim nowadays. Don't have the luxury of a TrackIR. Could anyone please tell me if there's a hotkey / mappable button / way which you can press to INSTANTLY look behind you for when you come off a bomb run? I'm fed up of panning all the way round... PS: I have a X52 Saitek pro. Any help appreciated!

Thanks a bunch guys...I'll try it out later! Cheers

Thanks for the replies, but still no answer, I guess what I need to know is, does the auto start-up get you to the point where you are ready to taxi? It doesn't seem to for me anyway....
