  2. Hi neofightr,

    I think the community will very much apprechiate ANY input you can give on the Hornet in the future, no matter what it is about. I know I certainly will.

    It is great that we have you here, and it is even greater that you are willing to share some of your knowledge with the community.

    I'll subscribe to this thread and will watch anything you upload about the Hornet (;

    Thanks !

  3. Tja auf das Video hab ich wohl gewartet, hat mich aber nicht sehr viel schlauer gemacht (;

    Für alle die auch an den asymmetrischen Loadouts interessiert sind:

    Das FCS scheint nicht automatisch konfigurierbar zu sein, sollte man ungleiche Last auf den Flügeln haben. Statdessen muss man es von Hand trimmen, NACHDEM man den Takeoff Trim eingestellt hat. NATOPS S.351 (8.1) gibt die Antwort.

  4. That is up to the server admins, if they run the beta or not.

    Why not run your own server on release branch?

    Maybe because the release branch has not had it's memory management updated, and people would have a VERY hard time to join, if they would be able to at all.

    "Release"-version sadly does not guarantee a stable expirience in any way, obvious bugs get carried over to stable all the time.

  6. I hope you don't mind me asking, but that is kind of a weird setup.

    So securing first place will automatically land you in the finals? I don't know of any system in any sport that works like that.

    Normally A1vsB2 & B1vsA2 would play, and then each gets assigned an opponent from the 3s&4s matches, and then after that would be the final.

    Maybe you guys made a deliberate choice, but it is somewhat "odd" in comparison to RL sports formats.

  7. Until recently, I was under the impression that the TS server is not used anymore, and using it as we did before is fine, but SRS is absolutely the way to go, way easier to organize your communication when in the aircraft.

    What I didn't like about TS is that it always devolved into everyone in the same channel talking over each other and adding to the chaos more than alleviating it.

  8. Wags did hint about more things getting done on this front.

    "Matt: While we certainly applaud his efforts, we have much bigger plans for DCS World on this front. We are pursuing much more ambitious plans that incorporate community, cause-and-effect continuity, strategic and tactical goals, player performance tracking and rewards, and accounting for time periods.

    A bit too early to go into more detail, but this is very much a high priority for us moving forward post-2.5."

    Article

    yeah yeah, just like they wanted to improve ATC with the new Nevada map and finally make us feel like we are flying in an actual World.

    I'll believe it when the updater is downloading that patch.

  9. I wondered that, but it recognizes me as the same user when i log in as steam, and when and i use the standalone, so it's probably something else

    DCS assigns unique IDs to every account, although you may start the game in steam you still need to be logged into EDs master server for online play.

    Not sure if your hardware also has something to do with it, or if that is just for starforce DRM.

    In regards to communications on red: the -freq seperation is done because it is hard for a single GCI to coordinate both east&west when everyone is coordinating and on the radio.

    Don't expect this to happen anytime soon, red is really struggling to coordinate and people are not willing to be pro-active about it.

    As a result you will be lucky if you find a GCI on the radio, or anyone for that matter (for me, most of the time over 66% of red airframes are not on coms), just use 126, it is essentially the standart frequency and I honestly can't remember the last time it got so crowded that we needed a second one.

    also for ATC: 124 is supposed to be our channel on red, but most people seem to use 251, IF they can be bothered to switch from 126 to announce to everyone and their mother that they are about to land in the most remote corner of the map.

    Get on Discord if you can, although the Red-HQ channel (only red players can read it) is pretty dead in regards to strategy, you will at least get the latest news and infos from the public channels. There will be a new reworked Standart Operatin Procedure (a document) released soon, and you will find all the info in there. Until then just ask if you have questions, generally people are friendly and willing to help.

  10. my suggestion to the communications problem would be to make the registration meaningful, and put a process in place that ensures that everyone who joins the server has read the SOP and is willing to communicate. we are provided all the tools we need for a great expirience on the server, the problem is that pilots don't care to use them correctly/at all, and there are no rules or measures that enforce coordination.
