  1. Yep, it just happened again and a single "restart" fixed it. Cheers.
  2. Thanks Hollywood for your PM. That clued me in to signal strength possibly being the issue. In case anyone else is wondering, I have done some research and it seems many others have trouble getting VA to recognise anything said through the Vive microphone. This surprised me, because it comes out nice and clear in TS and other chat apps. I borrowed a friends stereo headset with a built in microphone, and straight away VA recognised most things I said without any voice training. So it looks like I'm buying a better microphone! Update: got a Modmic 5.0 by Antlion. It works much better now.
  3. I've seen the same thing twice now. Not sure what triggers it. I re-calibrate to fix it. Is there a quicker solution?
  4. Ok, I guess I'll have to. Sounds tedious, but thanks for responding. :) I find it strange though. When I used VA with Anna for Star Citizen a couple years ago, I just did voice training twice, and the script worked damn near 100% of the time. That was on an old pc I have since replaced. Still, I don't know why it thinks I'm speaking Yiddish now.
  5. I've recently purchased VAICOMPRO and VA will not recognise anything I say. I have installed everything as best I can according to the manual, and activated my license. I have done Windows voice training 3 times. When reading the training sentences it seems to recognise me as it continues to the next sentence often enough that it seems like it is understanding me. But when I try to say something in VA to see if it works (PTT on joystick), half the time it doesn't seem to respond, and the other times it has no idea what I just said. For example I said "Request takeoff" and it thought I said "Gloucester docks"... I'm using VA/VAICOM with a Vive. Do you have any suggestions for what to try next? Thankyou.
  6. Thanks Aero, that is very handy. I'm already at the latest live versions. I might just wait for the live release of those new features then. Any idea when that might be?
  7. No, that's a different player. Thanks for the advice though. Never noticed any noise on the toe brake pots, but it might be jittering slightly as you say, you never know. I'll try a deadzone. Thanks. :)
  8. I have a MCGPro and have bound the brake lever to the wheel brake axis. This works well to make sure I apply even braking on planes with differential braking. I also have pedals with a toe brake axis per foot. But if I bind them, they fight the brake lever and override it. I would like to have the option of using both, of course with only one actually working at any given time - so that I can use the brake lever when braking after touchdown, and the toe brakes for tight turns when parking. This means that when the toe brakes are engaged, they should override the brake lever, and vice versa. Is there a way to have DCS ignore the brake lever when a toe brake is engaged? And ignore toe brakes when brake lever is engaged? Effectively ignore an axis, when another axis deviates from rest. Anyone got a clever solution to this? Perhaps lua code or something is needed? Thanks!
  9. So I finally got some time to sit down and try to figure out the MCGPro folding trigger - get it to work the way I want. But this post is using VKBDevCfg v0.84.30 and 1.92A firmware, which I don't see on the FTP. Where can I get them from? Is this version stable? Thanks in advance.
  10. I just switched to the #30 cams and agree with you. I like the the definite centre, but something in between would probably be perfect. Perhaps VKB could make some #20 cams a future optional purchase? It should be easy enough for them to make up.
  11. So I've read online that people are using TWO #50 springs per cam on the gunfighter. The manual says two springs is ok, but really... two #50s? Those are some hefty springs. Can I get an official OK from VKB to do/not do this? I don't want to over stress the gimbals. This will be a long term solution. Thanks.
  12. Thankyou Sokol and Rrohde for your responses. Doesn't look like I can use the folding trigger how I'd like to yet. Can I suggest VKB make proper documentation a priority, and hopefully make the momentary button presses on folding trigger stages (up and neutral) a possibility.
  13. Is there a proper guide to how to use VKBDevCfg yet? This is something I'm sure MANY of us could really use. In the meantime, I want to modify how my fold down trigger works - if possible. When it is folded UP, I want it to briefly trigger a button press. At the moment it holds button #24. I only want it to fire for, oh say half a second. When it is folded DOWN, but without being pulled, I also want a brief button press. When I pull the trigger, button #3 fires as long as I hold it, and that is fine. Don't want any change here. Anyone know how to achieve this? Thank you.
  14. Upgraded to v0.83.96 and v1.91E. No problems. Did it add any new features, or just fix bugs?
  15. Thankyou rrohde and bearfoot! Much appreciated. Edit: I replaced the springs with #50, and it has definitely helped. But the stick is still fairly light, and flops around centre a bit. This makes sense, as at centre the springs are under minimum compression so have least effect there. I'm going to try the #30 cams later, see how that feels. Got GateCont to work as 4 way hat, thanks for bearfoot.
  16. Q1: Where can I get proper documentation, or a video, on changing cams and springs for the gunfighter pro? I have only seen this so far: http://ftp.vkb-sim.pro/Documentations/Gunfighter-Quick-Operations-Guide.pdf Atm the stick is too floppy to let it go. I have to hold it very precisely, constantly. If I don't, the plane will wander around considerably as the stick flops around. I'd like it to re-centre on it's own fairly strongly so I can trim it for hands off, and "let go", or almost so. What would you suggest? Strongest #50 springs? The #30 cams? Dampers? Both? Q2a: Also, this might not be the right place to ask, but... in DCS the pinky button I have assigned to nose wheel steering (F15C). On my last stick, you hold that button for high gain steering. Now, on the mcg pro, I get high gain withOUT pressing it - it's always on. Holding the button puts it back to low gain. Not sure how it got reversed. Any idea how to fix that? Q2b: Also, without pressing the pinky (so, in high gain mode by default) it doesn't turn nearly as tight as it used to. It's like "half" high gain if that makes sense. It is definitely tighter than without NWS, but not tight as it should be. Ideas? DCS hasn't been updated since the old stick, and that worked just fine. Q3: How do I make POV2 (Gate Cont) act as a 4 or 8 way hat, like Master Mode? I've gone to "POVs", set #2 to LoRes 8w, "Set", but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Thank you.
  17. Got my GF Pro and MCG Pro today. Very impressive stick. So smooth.... the gimbal is just porn. The precision is amazing also. Coming from a CH fighterstick, which I loved, it was a HUGE shock to see just how much more accurate this stick is. No comparison. I have to learn to fly again, because of the much larger stick movement range. Rolling, I put in accidental pitch. And vice versa. Will get used to that soon enough though. The default springs are much too weak for my taste, I'll change them out later. Might even try different cams, to get a better sense of centre perhaps. I'll be back later with a bunch of questions! But for now, the reality has matched the hype. Nice work VKB :)
  18. Incredible. Love the concept. So I know what I'll be waiting in 2018 for....
  19. Sliders would be really good  Thankyou!
  20. He's not talking about weak shake effects. When you start the F15 engines, there is no shake. When you fly around normally, there is no shake. Only when you do some things, like engage burner, flaps, or gear, do you feel shake. When you stall, it shakes. But 90% of your flying time is without any shaking at all. It would be nice if there was the occasional 'burble' when flying to simulate mild turbulence, like real flying. Some mild engine rumble when out of burner. Some gentle rumble when pulling G's. Perhaps some a2a refueling shakes for connect, fuel flow, etc. I don't know if that is possible, maybe the telemetry from dcs doesn't allow it. SSA is very good, but more constant shaking would be a nice option.
  21. Hi all. Brand new SSA user here. I paid for the software but haven't received my activation code. Where do you get that from? I imagine it would come through via email pretty quickly? I got emails for the order, paypal, etc. Nothing else yet. Can only get the basic effects until then... Thanks! Update, got an email after a bit. Thanks Andre!
  22. Hmm, problem solved. Apparently a fourth reboot and now alt-enter works again... Sorry to waste your time, but thanks for the suggestion!
  23. I just got a 1080Ti and now I can't run 1.5 or 2.0 in fullscreen with VR (Steam/Vive). Normally I just ran the game, and got the vertical window on my monitor. When the menu came up I pressed alt-enter to go fullscreen. This meant all mouse clicks, especially ones right at the bottom of the screen didn't leave the window. Alt-enter does nothing now, and it's broken the game for me. I can click on menu items, but if I go to multiplayer for example, when I click on a server I cannot click on the Join button down the bottom. Moving the mouse down that far puts it on my taskbar in Windows. I can double click the server row to join, but then I get stuck at the aircraft slot screen. I choose a plane, but double clicking it doesn't work. I can't click the briefing button to join the game!!! If I try, I leave the window and click on the taskbar. Any ideas?
  24. I'd like to see, as high priority: 1. Afterburner detents 2. Lift idle/cutoff 3. Ministick, like on CH throttle but centers nicely! Lower priority: 1. Throttle friction adjust Looks really nice, can't wait to see pre-orders. :)
  25. Another one here with my jaw dropped to the floor. This is an amazing feature! No wonder the Rift guys were going on about it... Jumped on our server which kills FPS for me (worst case), anywhere from 35-45fps usually. Panning around was laggy and usually made me a little queasy after awhile. However with AR and IR on, the FPS seemed locked to 30 in stats, if that can be trusted. But, it was beautifully smooth. You could pan your head around without any lag or feeling sick. It just worked, and was a true joy. I ran it again with just AR, and though the framerate varied from 45-65, it didn't feel any different really. Again, very nice and enjoyable. I put the SS up to 2.0, from 1.5 which I usually ran, and to my surprise it was nice and smooth still. Not much effect on fps that I could tell. I am going to see what else I can turn up now.
