1. I've played with the mustang since launch with small bites but full missions all around and just got the Sabre. The reason why I'm already making an input about it's the main thing about the Sabre module: SIMPLICITY. I have not know about the Sabre in the technical operational aspects, but from get go, I could see that is a very simple aircraft to handle and operate. 1) Very easy to learn. Very few steps to make the engine run in comparison with the Pony. The P-51D is more complicated for the general public to turn on. The difference lies over priming the engine and occasional need of oil dilute plus all the aspect of propeller aircraft handling). Although it's one of the most simple modules, that's how easy is the Sabre. 2) It's DCS Full fidelity module complicated in terms of learning your plane. Components and electronics excluded: it's basically what the P-51D offers and plus some other few stuff like primitive CCRP modes. 3) Tutorials are not included in the Sim AFAIK. It does come with a simple manual that helps you turning on the engine and deploy weapons. Maybe something with more depth in the future. For more external capabilities and procedures, see: http://aviationshoppe.com/manuals/f-86_flight_manual/f-86.html 4) Very difficult against MiG-15s which is pretty historically accurate. Ground targets are a tad less efficient over you (common sense of not getting engaged advanced AAA or SAMs) compared to P-51D by it's lower speed. Overall great module. I can't see my module library being all that good without it. I was surprised of how pleasant it is to fly it. If you do bother continue reading: -Some features on the cockpit of the F-86 are harder to reach than the Pony. Although it's part of the charm to BE a "full fidelity" module. -Sabre flies straight and nice compared to the P-51D as having a jet engine for propulsion and needing a lot less trimming as consequence. - If you feel handling the P-51D with like an extension of your own body, feeling pretty close to the air flow and aero dynamics principles, really machine and pilot united in one, you'll feel the same on the Sabre. - Sabre has some cool technology stuff I'm just getting my head around them. That meaning you can approach targets with CCRP or CCIP or the way you can feel more confortable with, for example. - Bottom line, of the maybe 4 hours I got into it is: It's a faster and more stable P-51D. Challenging MiG-15s in dogfighting remmember me the battle of britain sims or cliffs of dover while driving the Spit against 109s but you can contribute with a bit more on the duel's pace than that WWII combination. Good luck.
2. After two days of not able to see my old keys, the error has been cleared and I purchased the Belsimtek's F-86F module and activated it with no problem. Disregard this thread.
3. Hi guys. I'm just ready to get the F-86 module from steam store, but I tumbled upon this error message when I try to view my module keys from steam. I prefer much to use the stand alone so I got some keys this year over steam to validate on off steam version. I bought around 6 modules from directly to their site on the past 2 years ( some standalone FC3 aircrafts included), I do understand that's better for supporting ED, but the scenario for me on the end of this year cripples me to do that. Steam purchase is the only way for me to get the bird. According to Steam FAQ this error can be related to lack of keys left. It's a pretty weird one as locks every other key you already have for you to see....well, it's steam... It's that the case? It's something in my end? I'm worried about my next module acquisition. Thank you, good flying.
4. Week's shots :D I just got an amazing week on DCS. F-15C flying dry over 30,000 ft and bringing her down to land safely. Getting wrecked on MiG-21 trying to land it and having and amazing experience flying it and testing it it's capabilities. DCS World 2.0, BRING IT! Good flying you all!! :pilotfly:
5. Amazing shots! Very well deserved. Congratulations. The winner image is just, wow! ;)
6. :megalol: LOL Be wellcome, ronbo. Good to see new people coming into this sim and enjoying it! S!
7. I just got the 21 and I'm missing words for how great the module is. I do highly recommend it, but who doesn't? Good luck !
8. Steam just started the Holiday Sale. Modules are with good discount. You can redeem the keys into stand alone DCS World outside steam too. Good luck on choosing. :)
9. FC3 have a much more accessible frame work to learn. Turning on the aircraft and fly into battle zone is much faster than full simulation modules or whatever people want to call them. FC3 aicrafts in majorty already count with PFM which enhance their flight dynamics over previous version of FC. They are great btw but still beta for some. -Speaking on fighters: there are no generation 4 fighters on full fidelity modules yet, but you have in FC3, which are extensively used in multiplayer. The closest you get from FC3 fast movers is DCS MiG 21 at the moment, but it is a 3rd gen fighter and, mathematically, it should get it's butt kicked by any FC3 fast movers. But if you're an adventurer that wouldn't be a issue (like me and many others). XD MiG-21 (I don't own) for what I know: it's a very well received module. Check some youtube videos of players taking down Su-27s and F-15s with it in multiplayer. Kill/Death ratio is poor tho...but looks fun XD. -Speaking on Ground Attack or Ground Support aircrafts: FC3 has the Su-25A, wich is a cleaner version of Su-25T that everyone gets for free. I personaly got the 25A and loved it over the T for it old schoolness and the slight more feel of danger and low tech. It really is a beast to tame and a LOT of fun if you don't mind not having fancy electronics. Same goes to A-10A but you can count with a HUD on the same quality level as F-15C's HUD. Under the same topic: "Full fidelity" DCS:A-10C. This is the master of DCS modules for me in the moment, even though I don't fly that much anymore after heavy hours for months on it. I got it at beta and started playing after a year when I got a decent GPU. It took me a month to master my very first DCS module from ground zero. I haven't yet found any other sim with such quality and complexity as the Warthog taking from the nature of the real aircraft and details put into the module. -Helos Modules (I own them all): There's the KA-50, that's not really my cup of tea, but I managed to get a lot of relaxing slow paced experience from it. It is REALLY good flying and steathing into darkish enemy territory, even more with a friend. Huey and Mi-8: Both might look very similar but fly and "play" alot different. Mi-8 heavier and much more delicate to maneuver and the Huey, with very strong structure and higher agility, count with two miniguns that can be pointed by co-pilot view (you can change seats on these two modules) whatever you want. Both are amazing. Sorry to bother about some full fidelity modules, but the point is, they're very different in how to use it on the battlefield. One of them MIGHT be the thing for someone for a very VERY long period while FC3 wont hold much. It's a matter of personal taste and objective within the DCS World. If you want fast deployment and high variety, Flaming Cliffs 3 is definitely the way to go. If you want DEPTH with still a LOT of fun, go for the module you find better for you. All play different. It depends on you in which one to go. The main site have a very long presentation for each different module by text and pictures for each capability of them. There's no long enough comment here that'll cover everything you should know. :) Great flying and good luck. I hope I've helped.
10. I came around this...glitch in last mission. I couldn't find any mention on bug's session. Sorry if it's already been reported. It happens on this small portion of the cockpit area at least. It could be nice if you could reach outside cockpit when offsetting pilot's head position with canopy open, but not this much when closed. Great flying.
11. That's brilliant! I hope to get the MiG soon as money comes in a few days. Great idea, other modules should get into this too, by their creators or who has the will to do it as alt tab makes DCS go angry. Will test! :)
12. After uploading and before posting, click on any of your attachments and copy the url displayed on the browser, then place the url between [/img] on the comment as you did with At least that's how I got it working. Good luck. :smilewink:
13. Su-27 over trees. Name: Felipe Callsign: Czar66 Thank you so much for this contest. For some of us it is really difficult to purchase modules for any reasons. Took this screen of a Su-27 over winter season. The bird is a beauty. Here's my screenshot:
