  1. No I release this tool so that every user can build his own cockpit. I have started to build mine and I share what ive made so far. At this point i am making f-15/16 instruments for myself.
  2. Do you have some idea on how to implement such a thing and if it would even work on our setup ? The only thing i think we can do on a server is to have it host some extra functionality, like some datalink confirmation or denial message. That is all i can think of. This is your area of expertise Moa :). How will it even know where to check in for confirmation? What if you tell it to check in with localhost but you are playing on 104th server and they dont allow it ? Sounds like im putting all work on you atm.
  3. Yes you are correct. if you set "EnableExportScripts = False" what happens is "LoGetWorldObjects" and "LoGetObjectById" no longer work.
  4. I've been discussing some form of validation/handshake approach, GG suggested some ideas but we found flaws in them all. The issue is how does the Game server tell the datalink, datalink server or leavu that it is allowed or not allowed? Automatically? I cannot think of anything... The setup looks like this :
  5. Moa if you know what to do!! Please do it and ill kick it into the software as soon as you're done :) Just make sure its fast and uses preloaded data. Ill give you a heightmap. What resolution do you need? if you give me the lat/long or XZ limits ( max and min of both ) and what resolution you need in each dimension. Ill make this map for you. You can use this map to generate whatever preloaded data you need. I dont know what Bresenham is :P
  6. well at this point nothing at all. What limitations do you suggest aside from LOS? LOS checks can probably be achieved. Distance limits also. It's pretty safe to assume if your radio can talk with good quality to the other AC then DL can also, since many DLs were just radio transmissions.
  7. I don't have specifics. on the previous F-15 data link. But it's nothing fancy. If you were somewhat good with electronics and computers in 1980s im sure you could go buy enough equipment to make your own data link and fit it inside your backpack. Basically powersource, some cables, antenna, some amplified oscilloscope thingie and a programmable circuit or computer ( 80s computer power is easily enough )
  8. Yeah that would be to not use open source code. But I would like to have people start writing pages and instrument panel modules for leavu. Imagine if 20 ppl were working on this, we could have full interactive cockpits soon!
  9. Brum the thing is that as soon as leavu has acquired "my speed, my contacts and my position", it does not rely on lockon or lockon server any more. It is completely standalone. Sure we can make it tell lockon "im using this", but the problem is that it is open source, if someone with bad intentions modifies it he can disable this notification. We are looking for a solution to have server able to enforce no datalink or worst case, no lua. I will let you know if we find such a solution. LEAVU isnt part of FC2. FC 2 is by ED. LEAVU is by me/us. Lockon is able to send this info like "my position, my contacts, my speed" to external applications and files with a Lua script interface made by ED.
  10. Moa, nothing major: just that not all F-15s had the modern datalink in 1990, but a few did. Before that there were other things ;). The more modern datalinks are so crazy you can almost see the entire battlefield. Leavu models older types.
  11. Other cool features I want is GCI controlling players radars to lock target, more specifically for russian Su27s the GCI should be able to through datalink give them targets and set up their radars.
  12. Don't know why you want to twist things so much Kuky. It is quite logical. I have X amount of hours to spare. I want all aircraft to have the possibility of having external avionics dynamically implemented. So I create a program that can do this. Then with my limited time I spend on a part which is for the most part oriented towards of the aircraft that I prefer to fly. But it can still be used by all. Just like any modder does. Some made a cockpit mod for french aircraft. They didnt make a cockpit mod for Swedish aircraft, dispite some people liking those more. I have zero obligations to you personally Kuky. The way you have acted, trashtalked and insulted me directly and behind my back I don't even know why im reading your posts. Get that straight. I chose to share my work of my own free will in an effort for everyone to have as much fun as possible. You dont like it ? Dont eat it. Its that simple. I'm so sick of this " Yoda you owe it to everyone to save the world, otherwise you are an a-hole" attitude. I have this many hours and i want to make my own game more fun, and if I can make other people's game more fun also thats great. Then i also leave a door open for the rest, but you have to get there and open it, i cannot do everything for you. The more BS you throw my way the less likely I am to try to make any sense of what you are saying. If ED choses to implement a complete lua disable setting on the host. That is their decision. It is a conceptual impossibility at this point ( at least to my brain capacity ) to think of a way to safely disable external avionics panels and instruments, since I dont see a way to disable lua at this point. Now whether this will remain in FC2 we can only speculate and ask the devs. I wont remove something that in my eyes is 95% good just because this. All constructive criticism and actual suggestions are warmly welcome. Trashtalking is not. Also if you want to conribute to LEAVU that is very very very much welcome!
  13. Like I said before I cannot deny or confirm any specifics about Fc2.0s server enforcing abilities. They are however much more powerful than Fc 1.12. Maybe Wags has posted some details about this.
  14. I really dont understand your post Frostie. I mean honestly, im not trying to make fun of you. I just dont understand what you mean. Please elaborate. I eagerly ( honest! ) await your answer.
  15. Because global lua exports are not used. They are off I can only export "my data". And share this" my data" with others sharing "their data". The GCI/ATC mods work because they have set lockon with global exports on and they use methods to get information on others than "self". Leavu can only acquire data on "self". Seeing something that is not visible to your eyes or systems are seeing, or linked through realistically implemented network can be a form of cheating. "If I knew how to do this I'd probably be doing it already..." - ok....so then you dont see anything wrong with this ? I offer my mod to both sides and make graphics more oriented for one side, but anyone can go in and add another graphics set to match russian setup more. If you paid me to work full time on this I could provide more input into the project :)
  16. because theyd need to reprogram the in game MFD to something functional. That takes time, money and testing. They chose one level of realism depth to program for, but intentionally made the game moddable for users to make their own experience more fun
  17. I make the US style MFD for leavu because I enjoy flying with it. I'm sure someone will pick up and do a su-27 page. I dont see why I have any obligation to make all instrument panels for everyone else. If you want one you can add one to leavu. Or you can use the existing one, or you can maybe play without it. I wonder if you know how this datalink works. It does nothign unless i have a wingman giving me info with it. Someone has to paint the target and see it on his radar, for me to see it on my navigation screen ( and for everyone that thinks US datalinks are new things, F-106 had one ). someone smart said "Yoda why don't you just do more work". Well my answer is, why dont YOU start drawing a russian navigation and datalink display and we can have it as a module for official LEAVU 2 release.
  18. The mod is for any plane you like Kuky. Read first post. LEAVU is a software to allow external avionics. Someone could add a module for Su27 speed indicator if they wanted to. The mfd page I made is a module for leavu It is open source so anyone can make any new parts that they want, like adding red pages. Why should I make instrument panels for aircraft I dont fly? It is like making touch buddy panel for Su27 and then someone calls it cheat because I didnt make it also for F-15. Makes no sense. There are many ways to criticise and suggest changes to things, but the way you have done it imo very poor taste. All exploits I found in Fc 1.12, I found by watching others and replicating. We are working very hard to get things sorted out in FC2. There are further exploits and issues which are even more severe that the ED devs have been informed of. Some way more dangerous problems with Fc1.12 that could do much worse damage.
  19. LEAVU can be used to produce red side graphics and instruments...:P It was made for such a purpose.
  20. If someone can think of a way to disable dlink then im all ears tbh. It's not like we havent thought about it. Rather the project being open source, someone can always change their version and compile it to remove that control. If anyone can think of a way to have the game server disable data link ....in some way tell us and we'll try to implement it. Right ok Kuky, how did I ruin Fc 1.12 ? Kuky you do know I released a Fc1.12 solution for completely disabling all lua, from server side? ( this was the same time as I released LRM ) Yes and oh this "Yoda blew up Fc 1.12 by exposing the exploits". Well then. Did you ever consider my purpose was a fix/patch ... ? Do you think me being allowed to contribute to beta team makes the chance bigger or less of more exploits in FC2? I am currently doing my best to find problems, bugs and exploits, that I can in FC2 beta. I wonder what do you think I'm doing. Do you really believe that I'm systematically trying to ruin this game. That I have some hidden plan and there is some conspiracy to ruin everything for everyone ...
  21. :helpsmilie: :) I would love to see you implement red side graphics for LEAVU. It is not a "blue side mod". It is a framework for external avionics, and you can use it to program for any plane. I chose to start with modules for F-15. Maybe you want to do Su27? GG spoke earlier about making a su27 datalink page.
  22. Thank you topol. Could not have said it better myself :)
  23. You go very fast from sarcasm and name calling to referring to me as your "mate". Right, what about having extra large monitor, or using touch buddy or any similar software then, LOVP etc. Are those all that as well? Not everyone has a hotas either. Some fly keyboad, some fly this and that. We dont call them cheaters. That said if ED wants to allow server option to disable all lua, that is up to them, not me.
  24. Frostie you should clear up your own understanding of what leavu is. Ive made a new first post in this thread ( as the previous one was for LEavu 1.0 ) . You can read there yourself what the purpose of Leavu is. It is to provide a modular avionics tool with input-output support, used to provide external instrumentation for different sims. In this case I start with lockon. And since I have most of the framework set up, I start with the F-15. Why? Because F-15 is my favorite plane to fly, so I start making cockpit instruments and features for it. Nothing is stopping anyone else from making mods for other aircraft. When i fly with my friends I want to use datalink. I want to have in this game what other games already have. And I want to share it with everyone else.
