I often quote Falcon for many of its features, but it has some real quirks where lockon actually performs more realistically. ( Also falcon has many many aeras where it outperforms lockon :) ). But that is not the point : Lockon is not aimed for "flip-all-switches" realism. Not all data is available to developers 5 yrs ago. Also because it is not aimed for an in depth full detail simulation of a specific aircraft, you must put into math that they must decide on what level of realism to chose. There may not be enough time to implement mechanics for all systems, and you must chose an approximation. But if there is data on new systems that can be somewhat easily implemented and inserted into lockon to improve overall realism, then what is wrong with doing it ? Also one more important thing that people always forget data does not equal model and will inserting this data into our current model provide better results? If it doesn't, they need to rethink the model to fit the new realistic data, and this can simply be too time consuming sometimes. Then you must leave that data out. You can have 99% accurate data but if your model is F = Math.random(); then you wont get very realistic results. Most falcon versions share many common data. They do however in many cases have different models for using that data. Now the goal IMO should be to create such a model which actually will replicate real life data (without knowing the original data), not just use it as input. This would be really cool if done.

Yes this is a good view. Can watch it many times an learn something new each time you watch it.

Tech demo of upcoming HUD screen! Made after request from EtherealN ( colors can be inverted )

Here is a quick demo without the sim connected It shows how you add avionics instruments/components and a little on how to navigate the F1X mfd

It does not make sense imo to enforce this, since in many servers players are expected to scramble at load in. But it can be added to leavu as an option I think in the future. Yes I already use these values on my MFD, but instead I show them as Range Bearing from Bullseye, where bullseye is the waypoint you have selected. There is also Range and Bearing from bullseye to your radar cursor. Check picture below My radar's cursor/tdc is from bullseye bearing 049 for 14 nm I am from bullseye bearing 116 for 15 nm

Awesome :)

I dont think an INS spool-up time would really work for lockon that well. But the other part of your post, how do you mean? I already export my coordinates and could draw them on top of any map.... I think

Well, I can run 4+ MFDs on my 5 yr old laptop without having any real high cpu usage, something im quite happy with :). Now I am currently feeding LEAVU with information at 30 fps and rendering at the same pace, but because they are not entirely synced there are some minor stuttering once vevery now and then ( stuttering in leavu, never lockon ). So im thinking of feeding leavu at something like 60-70 fps while maintaining render rate at 30 fps. Anyone got experience with such things? Smooth input over network?

I'm still surprised to hear that "cheat prevention with leavu" is the main subject. It should IMO be "cheat prevention in MP". LEAVU just exposes a lot of possibilities, that I'd be surprised if nobody already had found. Some people have already been exporting RWRs and other things and writing "Aim120, 10 nm out" on a separate monitor. Here is another test sample btw The cool thing is that it runs up to 30 fps next to my game with 0-1% measured CPU usage, even with multiple MFDs at the same time.

No promises yet. But if we can get this to work I will let you know. This is the intention.

Yes, I was cleared to show some small pictures.

We are investigating a method that may allow us when creating a mission to include specific files like export.lua. This would block data export for all planes exept what mission creator specified. Please be patient, once I know more if this is possible ill let you know. This method would actually distribute _our_ export.lua script to all clients on the fly, when entering the mission.

progress coming along nicely with fcr page

Yes. Blue is my bearing and range. White is that of my cursor.

Playing around with a few radar things here. Have not decided on design yet.
-
I can already capture keypressed from the lockon process. If you can do the graphics, i already have the keys. I do this by having lua load a dll which calls native windows functions.

here is a sample image of the FCR page i've got planned

Did you have ECM on? This has happened to me, but when I was the shooter. I had the enemy locked but my ER decided to go HOJ on my wingman. or it could be bad luck

Careful what files are forced though, many may differ from english to ru version

Cool i thought we were only very few here. Hello from Sweden, well i live in UK right now but normally I'm in Sweden :)

I really wish to keep the display capable of running any resolution and aspect, this is one of the primary features I want in there. I dont know how the server/client could possibly verify which leavu version is running... Even if you put such a control in, a user with basic programming knowledge could circumvent that control by just editing the source code. Just like there could already be ( and probably already are ) other software out there which work like unrealistic datalinks hidden from public.
-
even if you did, how would you press it? External touch screen imo is better . Or you can use second computer. Placing it internally i dont know how to do it... I dont think so

I proposed this combined server browser/mod manager which automatically configures your game to comply with server rules, but we'll see if we can make something like that.

Yes, click sync button :)

LEAVU EXP is not like AF EXP. LEAVU EXP is like OF EXP, where you look closer at where your cursor is.
