  1. I'll try one of my more reliable USBs. Not sure what details in the config might matter. I pretty much keep everything at native res and have not changed many things from my normal DCS settings. Never had the loading issue though until I tried using the reverb. I'll look into adding another 16GB maybe. Would really rather wait for the new AMD socket CPU's. Might be worth mentioning I have not had any other issues aside from DCS.
  2. I've had this headset for almost a month now (mid-April), but this thing is a real headache. Whenever I'm loading from the menu into the actual game, I get about a 50-70% success rate of actually being able to get in the cockpit without the headset, game or steamVR crashing. Just tonight I had my worst success rate yet, 2 successful loads in about 8 attempts (3 full PC restarts among them). It's ridiculous. When this headset works, it is pretty good. I'm not sure I can fly virtual helicopters again with just TrackIR now. But multiplayer may as well not exist in vr for me. Is it a me issue? My rig? Windows? Steam? DCS? My CPU and Ram are quite old now which might be contributing to the issue (4770k@4.3 & 16GB@1600mhz), and I am looking to upgrade them anyways, but I would think the GPU (an RTX 2080) is more than sufficient. I was hoping to wait for the new AMD socket before upgrading my CPU but maybe it is better to expedite that? Or should I return it while I can and just get a OR-S/Valve Index? I've been looking at setup guides for this headset but not really seeing anything major, and what I do change does not fix the loading issues. This is a 500+ page thread so don't mind me skimming.
  3. Apologies if I'm not supposed to be posting in a thread this old, but I believe it to be relevant. Ran into a problem on mission 8 that I don't think I can change on my end.
  4. Thanks for the pictures and solution. Makes my pedals far easier to use. One issue I've encountered though is that about 6 months ago my pedal sensitivity dial just came off. I've never been able to put it back on AND function properly. It is always set to the least tension which I had the thing cranked to max for most of the prior 6 years of use. After I did this fix, I figured out how exactly it functions but it is still caught and will only spin off or take the pedals with it when I twist it. Any ideas on how to fix this?
  5. The funny part is the OP is purposefully asking for reason to be impatient :megalol:
  6. Sounds awesome. Would love to join. Callsign: HollyWood Preferred Aircraft: KA-50, MIG-21Bis, UH-1H, Su-27 RedFor as a lone wolf
  7. Oh I get it now. I don't understand why that would even be a thing but okay. So what is the deactivation steps then? I heard before it was explained in a pdf or readme file with all the modules but I have looked at the A10, F86, and Ka50 so far but no luck. Have 3 left on the A10c so quite curious.
  8. I believe I figured it out by reading something EtherealN posted on page two of this thread [http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116362&highlight=deactivate+key&page=2]. The website has changed but the procedure is quite the same. Only difference is you click on profile on the top right corner of the webpage once logged in. Here you can click on "Details" for all of you modules to access your personal keys. I suggest middle mouse click on all of them and then copypasta into the "License Check" Text box. Each one gives a "Unbind from current login" button that you can click. I haven't had to use it yet since they changed the site, so this could be incorrect, but it is all the help I can offer. Hopefully, you haven't had any issues since the last post in April.
  9. I like to download all the latest SDKs and sometimes old files screw things up in my C++ files. I simply back documents up and then reinstall the OS to make sure everything is clean and fresh. Also helps protect from worms and other malware. I don't recommend it for people who don't have a OEM version of their windows nor for people who have only one hard drive as you will lose all your files in doing so unless you are quite familiar with partitioning the drive around specific files.
  10. Is this a feature. Just went through activating my keys for the modules I own and noticed I have either 5,6,or 7 activation's left on all of my aircraft. This is a bit worrisome for me as I tend to re-install the OS every 3-6 months. At this rate, if there isn't a way to deactivate before each install, I will need to repurchase all of my modules which all but 3 of them. I would really like to not spend another $300 to get more keys. Is there a way to deactivate? If not, is there any plan on doing this with EDGE or some other update?
  11. Interesting topic. I would have to agree that all the new-ish aircraft, especially stealth fighters, do not need to be in this game. I would love to fly one but the technology in these aircraft will likely remain classified and lower the quality of the product. Even if it didn't, that means the developers of that aircraft had access to it and then they could do anything with that info. I think the F/A-18 E/F variants should be as far as we go along with the Russian, Chinese, etc. equivalents. That said, only other aircraft I wouldn't want is airliners and civilian helicopters. Heard it mentioned before so I feel the need to say this is Digital COMBAT Simulator, not digital FSX enhancement simulator. :music_whistling: EDIT: just thought of something else I never want to see again... non-clickable cockpits. freaking F-15 and Su-27
  12. In the research for this development, I saw that only official 3rd-party devs and ED themselves have access to the Edge engine. Until released publicly there may not even be a way to create a map since there is nothing in the menus to select a map to create a mission on. But I wouldn't mind working on a mission system mod first though. I was thinking of something like ALiVE in ArmA 3 or MSO in ArmA 2. Possibly integrate a 3d editor like Zeus function now has. I just may look into this, even though it is not as glamorous as my first or second planned projects. And no, I did not plan on creating a F-16 since that was mentioned earlier. I don't want to reveal what I have planned though until I can successfully implement a model into the engine.
  13. This is what I was looking for before posting. Couldn't find it within a reasonable amount of time so I made this account and this thread. Looks like Sabre-TLA's link is more or less the same thing. I am have worked with C# extensively through my high school days and learned a good amount of C++ during college, as well as Java and Python as other notables. I was told by a friend of mine that Lua is not very different however, the "grammar structure" (his words, not mine) is different from C. Only things that I know I will run into some difficulty with are the flight model in general and mapping the analog controllers. I have mapped an entire keyboard before for a small indie game I made as well as the mouse but never worked with Lua before and never mapped a controller aside from the Xbox 360 pad in a visual basic program once. I think that came pre-programmed though and I barely remember even doing it. As for joining an existing group, since I have no DCS module experience yet, I do not feel comfortable with this idea. I think I would bog down some of the other creators in the first few months just getting up to speed so perhaps later on after I get some experience. I would need to collaborate with someone however as I am not that great at 3D editing. To get around this I was looking at purchasing some 3d models others have already made and then using that as a strong starting template to create the cockpits to DCS simulation fidelity. PLP, I doubt I could spit out more than one excellent module every two years, but I will try my best to surprise you mate.
  14. I am starting to look into making my own aircraft for DCS. I have most of the technological knowledge with the exception of advanced 3d modelling and I'm not all that familiar with Lua. However there is some projects which I have not seen or heard of being made before that I would love to start out with and see in DCS. Before I get started though, I was wondering if there is anyone I can speak with or someone that could tell me about requirements to become a third-party dev. I figured it would require some licensing and contracts with ED and the aircraft's company itself. How difficult is it to obtain these, also what are the profit percentages of the sales (business is business stuff). I might be biting off more than I can chew here... but I would rather make a high quality project than just basic mods. Any information on what all I will need or the licensing and sales would very appreciated. Thanks.
