You guys should use the monitoring tool of DCS to see what has the bigger impact on frames. Also the toggle mirror shortcut didn't help at all for me. I had to completely deactivate mirrors in the gameplay options. I did see the improvement after that.

Deactivated the mirrors in the game options and went from 33 to 60 sitting on the runway at kutaisi and from 20-22 to 45-60 during the truck mission.

Did a quick comparison with the huey, Update: 5.9 and mirrors 0 in cockpit, it seems to be the main difference. Now I don't see any mirrors in the Gazelle cockpit, so why that big of an impact in the mirrors category? What does the update category refers too?

The Update category is at 23.6 in cockpit view and 6.5 in external, the other values are the same pretty much. I get stable 60 in external view and 20ish in cockpit view though.

I'm not sure the bubble canopy is a factor. What is puzzling is the difference in fps between NTTR and caucasus with the Gazelle on some systems. that and the huge fps dip between the Gazelle and the rest of the modules.

No news on that issue?

My pedals arrived today. Super pleased with my purchase, its a whole new dimension for the helos and the WW2 birds.

Glad to hear you had such a nice xp with CH products. Just bought the CH pro pedals (my first ever rudder for sim) . Can't wait to try them.

Still looks interesting, as I'm on a tight budget and anything saitek is out of stock on the French amazon anyways. The rudder on the glider I flew were quite close to each other too so it doesn't shock me too much.

It's around 99€ here in europe apparently so it's very tempting.

fps are still significantly lower than other modules in the 1.5.3 main branch.

Tried the static tank mission again, fps vary greatly throughout the mission, from 50 to 60 at the Farp, then around 45 in flight and then it randomly drops to 25ish above villages to then go back up towards 45 above the town next to the criss crossed runways. Deactivated tree shadows. Edit: external views have pretty high fps, 50 to 60.

For the ppl owning the Nevada map, how do frame rate compares between the 2 in the Gazelle (versus 1.5.3 beta) ?

My specs: I5 4670k at stock speed, 8Gb ram, GTX770 2Gb, win7. DCS is installed on my HDD

a quick and dirty test has the UH1 at 64 fps, and the gazelle down to 36 in the same situation (no AI units, above plains and all) In the static tank mission for the Gazelle, I get 18 fps.
