Por si no visitan el foro inglés; video de una campaña volada hace poco en el ECV56. El mismo fue compartido por el querido Dave "Bio" Baranek en su FB personal. Salud!

I could tell you, but then i'd have to kill you...and i'd get the boot from the testers team which it's a real honor. And i'm not an expert like Victory205, but he is right, HB are geniuses, and the "A" feels and sounds amazing

Ii'm not sure this has been mentioned before, but it would be great RIO's get credit for their kills online. From "my" online kills 95% of the times it's thanks to him, the RIO (no, not Jester...a human one). I only pull the trigger in pre-merge/merge when in PAL but that's very rare, most of them are in BVR. It'd be nice to have the whole crew mentioned in chat and not like now *Pilot Name* killed XXXX unit; but *PiloName/RIOname* killed XXXX unit msg; and also both of them in the kills list with same ammount of kills/death showing. Maverick was an egocentrical Alpha Male with emotional disorder; let's make the good old humble Goose proud!

F-14 SYMPHONY - VF-211 Final Cruise Video - WESTPAC 2000
Chimango replied to Chimango's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Indeed, the "bad blood" between our unit (VF-211) and the horde of Hornets (all other units) was present the whole campaign! We loved that too; 3 out of 4 of us in the cats were around our 40's so there was a generational thing going on too. Spoiler, these are some screenshots from the banter you mention in the video: -

You guys were both right; that comma made the difference...and also AFAIK there is no way to make separate suits for pilot and RIO to show up; both get the same pilot suit. S! -

Well now the skin is not even showing on the list when i want to rearm, or when i check the mission editor and want to apply it; it's gone. What am i doing wrong? This is my lua with those lines added, and also a screenshots of the files i have: livery = { --Diffuse ----------------------------------- {"HB_F14_EXT_01", 0 ,"HB_F14_EXT_01",false}; {"HB_F14_EXT_02", 0 ,"HB_F14_EXT_02",false}; {"HB_F14_EXT_03", 0 ,"HB_F14_EXT_03",false}; {"HB_F14_EXT_04", 0 ,"HB_F14_EXT_04",false}; {"HB_F14_EXT_TAIL", 0 ,"HB_F14_EXT_TAIL",false}; {"HB_F14_WING_LEFT_01", 0 ,"HB_F14_WING_LEFT",false}; {"HB_F14_WING_RIGHT", 0 ,"HB_F14_WING_RIGHT",false}; {"HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_HELMET", 0 ,"HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_HELMET",false}; {"HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_HELMET", 1 ,"HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_HELMET_NORMAL",false}; {"HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_HELMET", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_HELMET_RoughMet",false}; {"HB_F14_EXT_RIO_HELMET", 0 ,"HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_HELMET",false}; {"HB_F14_EXT_RIO_HELMET", 1 ,"HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_HELMET_NRM",false}; {"HB_F14_EXT_RIO_HELMET", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC {"HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_HELMET_RoughMet",false}; {"HB_F14_LOD1_3in1", 0 ,"HB_F14_LOD1_3in1",false}; {"HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_SUIT", 0 ,"HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_SUIT",false}; {"HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_HELMET", 0 ,"HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_HELMET",false}; {"HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_SUIT", 0 ,"HB_F14_EXT_PILOT_SUIT",false}; {"HB_F14_EXT_RIO_HELMET", 0 ,"HB_F14_EXT_RIO_HELMET",false}; {"HB_F14_EXT_RIO_SUIT", 0 ,"HB_F14_EXT_RIO_SUIT",false}; } name = "Test F14 skin" --countries = {"USA", "RUS", "FRA", "UKR", "SPN", "NETH", "TUR", "BEL", "GER", "NOR", "CAN", "DEN", "UK", "GRG", "ISR", "ABH", "RSO"} -

Hi guys, i wonder if you could help me. I'm trying to apply a different helmet for pilot and RIO; same thing with the suits (i customize their names on the patches) but i'm unable cause the description, lua sets the same helmet and suit for both. Any ideas how should i set up my description.lua to have separate helmets/suits for the 2 of them? Thanks in advance. -
My point? I think it's quite clear, have you been reading? And what's your point sharing a museum stored MiG-21? (facepalm here). It's like someone complained about an enduro racing motorcycle replica not being weathered enough and you showed to us one just hand washed that you store in your garage instead of a picture of one during a race. Show to me -for example- the cockpit glass of a soviet MiG-21 after it came from a sortie during Soviet-Afgan war during the 80s, or a Middle East conflict one over the decades after seing combat every day for several months, and not after it's cleaned, but during a sortie... and then we talk. Anyway, even in your shiny MiG-21 photo it's quite clear the scratches and dots in the cockpit glass on the first picture. That is what gives a feel of 3D, something very difficult to accomplish in a 2D monitor and something previous cockpit glass we had gave in a very solid way. Our Magnitude MiG-21 module it's great, amazing plane and my favourite module next to the the F-14, current shaping, FM and lighting it's top notch...all i ask is to have the cockpit glass we used to have previous to last update AS OPTIONAL. If not, please Magnitude find something in between specially for the left and right front glass...it looks really sterile, all the rest is quite fine.

Guys we are sorry but we won't be able to participate this time due to conflicting dates; a week went by since sign up and as i had no confirmation of slot i arranged another activity. I hope you understand. Good luck with the event, i hope i can participate next time...i like the fact is not for prizes but just the fun of it, and also loved the setup! S! ECV56_Chimango

I agree, the've done a great job re-shaping and sizing the cockpit. The lighting looks amazing also.
-
Thanks guys. We plan to finish them by next week, we have already drawn the oficial VPAF numbers, so one step closer. S!

All around yes and is not that bad, but my main issue is with the front area. Check these screenshots: first one from current cockpit (yesterday at Cold War server) and the two below from previous cockpit glass CURRENT GLASS (empty, 2 serial numbers missiing on the sides, no sense of depth in the cockpit PREVIOUS If it's gonna be a fixed texture please find something in between, otherwise make it optional please

Hi guys, we are a bit late Wanted the MiG-21 too, but too many already. Just in case a F-14 crew doesn't show up sign us up un a reserve F-14. F-14 ECV56_Chimango NaCH

Thx Rudel and also thanks for your work, your templates are great. The thing with gamma is if i go beyond 1.5 is way too bright, almost blinding and unfllyable in my settings. I use gamma in 1.4/1.5 BTW, do you have any idea where can i get the real VPAF fonts? I need those numbers, some guy has done these skins in the past so probably they can be found somewhere, i haven't been lucky with my search. If unable we will draw them in Adobe Ilustrator but we rather avoid that time demanding task.

Just as unreallistic as having no feel of canopy/glass in front of you. What are we discussing? Why is some people opposed to have it as OPTIONAL; don't force us to use it different to what it has been since day 1 just because some guys -mostly cause they want advantages in PvP- cry about it. I use the 21 PvP also and previous glass has never been an issue. Also saying "such dirty canopy" is total exageration, this is the latest vid recorded during a COOP mission few days before current patch, MiG-21 glass never prevents anyone from spotting contacts, or it's not showing to be "so dirty" at all.
-
Exactly my thoughts. Also, later i will upload a couple of comparative screenies to show what i mean about previous and current weathering; for instance 2 of the front glass serial numbers are missing (the two on the front right/left glass) and that didn't interfere with contact spotting. And just like this a couple of things could be added...but again, best option in IMO is to have it optional by default.

A couple of WIP "Balalaika" skins we are making with my teammate ECV56_Duco -the real artist here- from two iconic units. VVS 115° GIAP "Советская литва" ("Soviet Lithuania") - Afghanistan 1980s 100% made by Duco VPAF 921° IAP "Sao Do" PS. the drop tanks on VPAF 21s screenie belongs to 000rick000 textures, if allowed i will include it (with credits) in the skin, otherwise they are gonna have default ones.

Great stuff man, thanks for the update!

LOL been flying MiG-21 MP mostly PvP since 2015=> https://www.youtube.com/user/Chimanov/videos you can check my channel, even some videos from those years and never had an issue with visuals other than the known horrible spotting due to DCS. It's a bit more difficult than a clean glass, but imo more inmersive and i fly DCS not for fair competition, but for inmersion. I'm not saying it MUST be forced weathered, but also people people who bought this module many years ago and has been happy enjoying the decisions original devs took about the cockpit shouldn't be forced to this sterile glass just cause a couple of metrosexuals :megalol: (just kidding boys) don't like dirt! Now seriously, make it OPTIONAL and i mean just the glass textures, if not, find something in the middle please, right now it looks like you have empty air and no glass in front of you.
