Thanks for the update LN. All DCS members from my ECV56 squad are waiting for this plane as little kids wait for Santa. This bird modelled by you under DCS graphic engine it's a dream come true. The MiG-21 is the best made plane in DCS so far, i'm sure the Tomcat+Carrier+Crew+Vessels? and more...will even top that.

@Vincent90: I'm aware of that comment by Cobra; but he was referring to RWR radar tone; not to SARH missile lock tone which is the one i'm talking about.

Bug still there after new patch. Planes not showing on radar beyond 12/15km. I hope it will get fixed soon. Same thing with piper not following the tracked bandit, you just get the tone but piper stays stuck in the middle. And OT; i only get the radar lock tone just when the locked plane gets inside the LA zone. Sometime ago you would get the tone as soon as you locked the target; has that changed or is it just a bug?.

Is it new feature or a bug that you only get the radar lock tone just when the locked plane gets inside the LA zone?. There is still an important bug that needs to be fixed: 1) Planes flying straight ahead of radar cone can´t be noticed on scope beynd 12/15km.

Thanks for your reply. As i said, everything is set up right, ASo 2 pod loaded with default chaff/flares 32/32, switches on, drop cover removed and pressing button for many seconds. It won`t work. I'll wait for next patch, many VITAL things have to be fixed in the 21; now it's unflyable during combat, it's handicapped.

Found the same problem, i've just started flying the 21 again after months without flying at all and found three issues already: 1) Radar not showing contacts beyond 15km 2) Radar lock sound OFF until the target reaches the launch zone (then sound is ok as it used to be) 3) No chaff/flares after pressing the drop button. I make sure everything is set right (switches, cap removal, default 32/32 load, etc) and still nothing. Has anyone experienced issue n°2?

Congratulatins guys, your are doing an outstanding job with this bird! Is there any chance to get the versions without the "dorsal hump". A humpless version like the A4 B/C/Q, would be very appreciated as those are the ones which took part in Malvinas/Falklands 1982. Also during Middle East and Vietnam conflicts (not to mention other famous use as in Blue ANgles and also Top Gun film) I'd love to see something like this: [ame] [/ame] A4B's from Argentinas Air Force attacking and sinking HMS Coventry (May 25th 1982)

TRACK REPLAY I wonder if you could help me. I'm trying to replay a track recorded during patch 1.5.1 in order to make a video for YOUTUBE but is not working under current version (1.5.3). I've tried reverting patches as instructed by Skatzilla's thread (Update, repair, revert, etc) but is not working, as 1.5.1 seems to be erased from ED database. I installed a fresh 1.5.0 openbeta; but when i want to upgrade it will automatically take me to 1.5.3, not to a specific sub version. Also if i want to install SU-27 for DCS it won´t do it on 1.5.0, as the one in database is the current version only. So, what can i do? Does anyone have a 1.5.1 version of the SU-27? Is there any way i can install a 1.5.1 version of DCS? Thanks in advance.

I apologize for not finishing this project on time. Well, actually it is finished but in spanish language. Real life issues kept me away from SIMS and also the constant change in versions discouraged me a little cause i couldn't make sure that mission files would work after DCS version changes. So now before i can make some time to translate everything to english and also add russian+chinese voice overs; maybe i'll wait for a stable DCS 2.0 merge with 1.5; i don´t want to waste time working on something that has a very short life. What i can do is, at least, upload one of the most intense missions from the campaign if you want, so you can have a taste of it :D S!

F-14 needs it's natural rival, let's get the 23 with good avionics! LN made the best DCS aircraft IMO which is the MiG-21; make them all! The 23; and also MiG-31! ;)

I disagree, as has already been explained by others. On previous patch i had a lot of fun shooting ERs at 40/35 km and scoring hits against not very focused F15 pilots while i was cranking and diving away from AIM120. ERs reach them before AIM120 reaches you. And by the time they do, if your own ER misses you still have some options, or just extend. Now ERs are crap and bugged (and unfortunately no one from ED mentioned anything about our bug report, yet), they just are useless for BVR. It only takes a couple of degrees offset, a couple of chaffs and that's all, specially on MP which makes it even worse. On current patch i haven´t been able to score a single ER hit beyond 15km.

Su-27 should be really good for BVR; but until ED fixes ERs bug, they are useless. Doing MiG-21 tactics till then.

@SITHSPAWN: . Do you have any information from devs regarding this bug corrected or not under current patch? . If not, do you know if they take under consideration this report for the next patch?

OMG that track file...it's even worse than the one i uploaded. Let's wait and see what devs say regarding this bug.

Bottom line is: 1. Please revert ER performance to last patch (hotfix 3) 2. Please inform on changelogs when a change on missile performance is done, and if possible why it was done. Thank you.

Santi871; i respect the way you approach your online fighting but that is not what i enjoy the most. For me is not about getting a million kills as a lonewolf flying the Su-27 as it not supposed to; if i was to use ONLY those tactics i would take my MiG-21bis which i also find way more challenging. Many people just go there using only this stealth tactic which is ok and i use it sometimes, but for me, DCS becomes a winged "Counterstrike" game which for me is not interesting at all. So as some already said, this thread is not about tactics but about 27ERs being useless again after last patch was realesed.
