Capt Zeen, As always, many thanks for your work... your profiles take DCS to another level. I hope you will be able to address two more issues with the, already excellent, Capt Loz A-10C profile. First, I'm referring to the 'Preset' roller switch on the FM and AM radio's. The frequencies also jump around like the others did prior to your fix and second, the flip-up panel on the UHF radio (this is always out of sync with the one in the cockpit) sobe, If you're still struggling to get the buttons resized/repositioned correctly - try the alternative method described by the Capt in post #7 (this is the method I used and it works very well). @Capt Zeen @sobe

A-10C but you just got me wondering.... -

pepin1234, Didn't regard this as a question 'specific' to A-10C but you have got me thinking... may be a stupid question but do any of the numbers change depending on what aircraft you're flying? -

SD, Thanks yes, I have but it isn't quite what I was hoping to find - never mind, I have figured it out for myself now - thanks anyway. -
Hi maestro72x, how's it going... have you figured it out yet... how far have you got with it...there's plenty of info on the forum but I'll try to help if if you're really struggling...
-
That's exactly how it should be set up... DCS on the main three screens at 5760x1200 and configured in DCS as 'one screen' and Helios on the fourth at 1680x1050 (after monitor reset in Helios). Have you managed to get this working yet?
-
It's worth noting that you are using Bitdefender whereas others might be using alternative AV software. However, your discovery is great news for anyone else experiencing this issue who might otherwise resort to reinstalling windows. The lesson here is for people to check their AV solution to see if Helios etc has been temporarily blocked - well done mate!

Hi Iku64, My mistake, I thought you had got the radar working also... no probs...
-
Nice one Snacko... Hey, they gotta get up earlier to catch you out mate! :)
-
Hi Iku64, MOST important.... NICE Pit! :) I would like to help (if I can) but my system setup is different to yours so the monitor.lua I was going to send to you won't really help. So far as Helios is concerned, have you tried opening Helios and choosing the option, 'reset monitors'. This is how you tell Helios which monitor to display the profile on. Can I ask a favour of you? I came across an old post last night relating to CaptZeen's F-15C profile and 'how to get the radar working'... you mentioned in that thread that you had got it working. Can you remember how you did this and did it work properly? .
-
maestro72x, yes, i'll be able to help you - just acknowledging your message at this time cos it's nearly 3am here - just got held up in a holding pattern at Batumi... hahahahahah - so, i'm off to get some kip right now but i'll be back (as Arnie would say)!

Capt Zeen F-15C Helios Profile ! ! !

A great addition to an AWSOME collection. Has anyone got the round green radar working yet? If so, please share how you did this. . -
Iku64, I was just in full flow trying to offer some help when it suddenly occurred to me that, unlike myself, you have three screens and talking about using Helios. So, whereas I have DCS on the main three screens and a fourth screen (touchscreen) for Helios, are you trying to run DCS on two screens and Helios on your third or is all this preparatory to you getting a fourth screen like me?
-
Hi Iku64, When you say you can't get Helios to work... how far have you got with it?
-
Hi maestro72x, I'm pleased you're fixed too - I know how it feels when the rig ain't workin' right! Oh, DCS - currently A-10C Also have quite a few other DCS modules but have learned it's better to stick with one plane and really learn it rather than try to take on the world. What about you?
-
maestro72x I'm using 3 monitors connected to a single gpu controlled via AMD eyefinity which makes the three monitors into one large monitor (5760x1080). I have DCS configured for one monitor and this works well for me too. Just updated to 1.5.1 467222.87 - no probs with update but take care - remember to back up all those file which may get overwritten!
-
Iku64 So, you fixed it now :)
-
mikpen14, I owe you an apology... I didn't read your post properly and missed the point that you was looking at the checkout page... that said, i wasn't answering specifically in relation to that particular plane but rather to what happens normally...
-
On the checkout page (not the coupon page) there is a checkbox to apply your DCS balance to the order.
-
Yes, I saw that too but only time will tell!

Guys, This one keeps coming up from time to time - Correct me if I'm wrong but it appears to me that it's better to wait for a 70% sale than trying to use accrued bonus. I have bonus which has been saved up for some time but every time I think about using it, I quickly come to the conclusion I'll be paying considerably more than if I wait for a sale. In the end, as difficult as it is, I think it's better to forget about the bonus unless of course, there's something at full price which you simply can't wait to get!

Thanks, I hadn't considered that but I still think it is a good idea because threads placed inside a specific forum area are more focussed and as a result only really attract the attention of those actually interested in that particular topic. I can see it's a bit of a balancing act in that some people may glean valuable information from reading through ongoing dialogue within a given thread but then again, this is something they could also achieve by reading the same thread from within a specific area. Being quite frank, if I post something I need help on, I want answers not views so the fact that non-members cannot reply is of no consequence to me. On the flip side, if my idea is implemented, the countless number of admirable people who often reach out to help will be saved from reading each and every post when they may not have any experience in that particular field of interest and would have therefore not have taken the time to read it. This is why I made the alternative suggestion that users could be encouraged to include something in the title to indicate a post relates to a specific issue e.g. (Helios). This is only relevant when there are so many topics which could come under a very wide banner (like input/output). Enforcing this alternative would be it's downside. You may say the argument for a dedicated Helios area could easily apply to a load of other similar examples but with hardware becoming more affordable, the interest in touchscreen technology appears to be on the increase. Helios is at the fore-front of this technology but sadly, most users rely on other Helios users for support. So, to sum up, it was just a suggestion for your consideration - no offence taken if you decide against it! Thanks for a GREAT forum though, just one thing - it should come with a health warning... it's toooo addictive!

Just an idea for your consideration... 'A dedicated Helios section' When posting a Helios related question, there is often a disproportionate number of views to replies. Sometimes there can be hundreds of views and less than 10 replies. This may suggest the number of views would not have been so high had the reader realised the thread related specifically to a Helios issue. I think a dedicated Helios section would be very much appreciated by all concerned but another approach might be to encourage users to include the word (Helios) in brackets at the end of the title. .
