Thats easy: a flat blue 5000X5000 mile table :) Seriously no sane naval commander would cross the straits with a Nimitz class boat (let alone with the fleet group escorting it) just to be sitting ducks in a land locked lake.... Never ever operational carrier entered black sea, though it is a fun to practize carrier ops..

US carriers will not come to black sea that is out of question. Whoever places a carrier to the black sea has no military background and professionals would only smile at them. Flying a tomcat from a carrier at black sea is not a simulation game it is a science fiction game :)

Good strategy. Fuel usage is a very complex mathematics from temperature to air pressure wind etc. must be taken into account, no blame on leatherneck that there are simplifications it is still far the most advanced model I have seen. And regardless to the theoretically most efficient regime tactical reality dictates all the time. My biggest problem is arriving to landing at about 700l remaining, I usually always arrive with more and have to burn some before land which is a planing issue on my side :)

I really hate to repeat myself. 1. ASP is fed by radar and gives accurate firing solution for targets between 600-2000m when locked, in case of losing lock it gives solution for 600m fixed range. Given that ASP is in auto mode, firing gun, radar is on and target is locked. 2. Paralell to that ASP schould give range indication. In spite of that the current ASP is a mess, it works OK only in fixed 300 mode no radar is needed. It does fail even vhen you introduce distance manually, it fires way too short.
