You will not be able to implement all systems it is a vague expectation. Simulating the radar itself at high fidelity wold take a full high horsepower PC on its own. I also dont expect to see a fully implemented ECM for that matter. The mathematics of fuel use is extremely complicated also. There are numerous simplifications in the sim, otherwise it would not take 2-3 years to learn to fly the real thing :) Seeing the tremendous effort taken to perfect seemingly minor details (wing thickness, placing of antennas) I do not understand why fixing such a crucial part as a ASP is being discussed only now.

There is no point of making an f-14 for this theatre the "fleet defender" would be out of its place in the caucasus. The same with the MIG-25. These planes were designed to cover enormus distances and take down foes at a great distance at high altitude nothing fancy. To use these planes you would need six time of the area as we have now and quite a programming for carrier landing.

Yes. Well we cry for realism don't we? :) In a real plane you schould switch off the pumps (the SAARP records it) otherwise you find the commanding officers boot in your lower parts :)

To use burner or not? According to the Russian technical data it does not rally matter, or you are slightly better off with burner. With burner it is 625l and 3 minutes and 50 km distance, without burner it is 670l 130km and 11 minutes.

It depends. To climb to 11000m (where you have max range with a given amount of fuel at 510 IAS) takes about 700l of fuel (no matter if you use afterburner or not). To do so you need to accelerate to 0,8M and start to climb with that speed, slowly accelerating further, you should reach 1M at about the hight of 8000 at be at 1.1 at 11000. That way you will be at 11000 for about 3 mins and 50 km distance at the cost of 700l fuel. The point is that you first accelerate to 0,75-0,8M and the start to climb slowly accelerating further. many make the mistake of gaining altitude with too low initial speed. At sea level where you burn fuel most efficiently at 670IAS you burn 3,5l fuel for each km (at 11000m you burn 1,65l/km), which means with 700l (which it takes to climb to 11000) you can fly abut 200km at sea level. You anyway fly 50km with climbing to 11000 with afterburner so the difference is 150km. So at 11000m you burn 1,65l/km and you are 150km behind the plane which stayed at sea level and burns 3,5l/km you both have 2000l fuel now. The high flying buddy can cover 1200 further km the low flying buddy can cover 555km which totals 1250km for the high flying and 755km for the low flying buddy. Where they even out as far as fuel consumption is concerned would be about 330km, so less to cover than that stay low, more to cover progressively climb higher. I have attached a graph to be more visual on range (fuel consumption per km covered) at sea level, 5000 and 11000 as you can see the tipping point between 5000 and 11000 for example is more like 400 km.

1.The fuel system is a chain of tanks and pumps. There are 7 tanks in the fuselage and 4 in the wings and some pumps grouped in like pump group I or III. To put it short only the dispense pump feeds the engine from the dispenser tank the dispenser tank is fed by the 3th fuel tank group (and it pumps) the 3th fuel tank group is fed by 1st which sucks out fuel first from wing tanks and ventral tank. So when any of the tank groups are empty you better switch off the appropriate pumps to avoid their empty cranking. 2.you dont have to it is done by the pumps of the 1 st tank group(there is no pump in the pods the fuel is "sucked in". 3. If you drop all tanks it is 2700l remaining, and you can adjust the fuel meter accordingly, I cannot imagine a situation when you have ventral and wing tank and you drop jut one of them. Anyway the next event when you will be able to check your fuel level is when the "1st fuel tank group empty" indicator starts blinking it means you have about a 1000l remaining regardless of what your fuel gauge shows.

The mig can land at speeds up to 360kph the 270kph landing speed limitation is not due to the inability of the plane rather the lifespan of the tires. In real life if you land too fast you simply wear off tires too fast which is considered as a mischief by the military authority of the peoples republic :)

It should, otherwise it would be on all the time. I don't think it is simulated in DCS it would be way too complicated.

Well the reason why this is particularly annoying is that the ASP can show distance when firing GROM or attacking ground target (even when radar is off as far as I remember), but when it is really needed it fails :(

OK I got the remarks thanks, I am working on a new version with accurate ruler compass, and runaway bearings (though there is no space for both headings).

The second number under the airport name is RSBN not NDB as writen, which is the same as PRMG as far as I know.

I have made a little useful map for those flying Mig-21. I found the maps cumbersome and developed a little A/4 size map which is usable, you can draw on it etc... I found it great for casual navigation. http://www.filedropper.com/theatermap
