I would like to think you're right, but unless you have links to Oculus themselves there is nothing out there to suggest it will be earlier. I can't see how they would announce pre-orders and then start shipping a month later. I could be wrong, but it would be the first time I have seen this happen.

I've been watching some tutorials about the Huey on Youtube and they all talk about the Force trim Button. The problem is I cannot for the life of me find the force trim button in the setting of the Huey. I see there is a force trim switch which is obviously used for the switch, but is the force trim button named as something else? I thought it would just be called "Force trim button" like the switch is call "Force Trim Switch," but it isn't. I've spent ages in the settings while playing the NTTR map looking for it, but I can find it anywhere. Will someone please put me out of my misery and tell me where this setting is. Thanks!

Oculus DK2 and beyond...
Crunchy replied to grammaton_feather's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I think you meant to say it is broken for you. I enjoy flying solo and it ran smooth for me on a Geforce 970 and an i7 930 0verclocked to 4.1Ghz. I have since upgraded to a Skylake 6700k Overclocked to 4.5 Ghz, so I expect it to be better then a very old i7 930. -
By the sounds of thing I don't think the rift is going to work well over Vegas. I haven't heard of anyone getting 140FPS yet. I've seen people mention 60Fps and dropping to 30fps at times.

[NO BUG] Oculus Rift stops working with update to ver 1.5.1
Crunchy replied to Deathbane's topic in General Bugs
They already know it's down to the latest patch, it's in the link you have provided. It's nothing to do with the patch notes. I am on runtime 0.8 and it worked for me before. Now it doesn't with the latest patch, but they are aware of this and are working on a fix. Not sure what you mean when you say "Issue is down to patchnotes, there was no mention of needing to upgrade the SDK version." I'm already on the latest runtime 0.8, but that doesn't fix the issue. -
[NO BUG] Oculus Rift stops working with update to ver 1.5.1
Crunchy replied to Deathbane's topic in General Bugs
Did you read all of the other thread before deciding to link it to this one? If you did you would know it's a bug and no amount of tinkering is going to fix it. We just have to wait until ED fix it even though it's real pain given we waited some weeks for the last fix. -
I have 0.8.0.0 and I crash on the mission loading screen. I think this happens when you install a module after the update. This needs fixing because it means you won't be able to buy anymore modules without it crashing. I'm not sure if this is what is causing it, it's just some guy said it worked for him until he purchased another module and installed it. Now he can't get past the loading screen.
-
Might sound a silly question, but what does ground power allow you to bypass in the A10C or another aircraft for that matter? I'm new to this so want to learn all I can. Thanks!
-
A quick mission doesn't work for me, it just crashes at the end of the mission loading screen , I saw that some guy said it worked for him up until he installed another module, but after that he can no-longer get it to work now and he to crashes on the mission loading screen.

Any Mod that makes canopy fog or ice up
Crunchy replied to Corbett1403's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I'm sure they are aware it would be more realistic if it wad added, but they have more important thing to implement. I think something like this should be way down the list if it gets in the way of the most important things. -
I'm confused by your post are you saying there is a hotfix for the Rift on the stand alone version? You also say your stand alone version works fine, but I use the stand alone version and it doesn't get past the mission loading screen. You then say you can't update the stand alone version?

How do these patches get the all clear without first testing them on the Oculus Rift to see if they work? I thought we had seen the last of the crash bug for Oculus Rift after waiting some weeks for the last one to be fixed. Seems like where back to square one only this time I cannot connect at all with the Rift now. I havn't used the ditor yet so I have no idea how to do the temp fix. Plus I don't want to mess with the beta game when I thought we weren't supposed to. When can we expect a fix for this? I was hoping to play Neveda at the end of the month in the Rift.

Thanks fellas, it worked.

How do I do this? I know the other guy in this thread said to hit start and type dcs update, but I have to do a repair before it starts to update again. Can you please tell me how to do this properly because I have no idea from the instructions so far. Thanks!
-
I have done a repair and tried to update again. I now get a massive error log which I have attached. I don't have a firewall or antivirus software installed yet even though it talks about them been a possible cause. So is 1.5 totally broken then because I cannot install it. I've been trying all day and it's started to get annoying. autoupdate_log.txt

The update doesn't start again when I click on DCS beta, it just takes me into the game, but it isn't updated. I have to do a DCS repair before it will try to update again.

Trying to download latest patch and I get an error saying: "Server capacity limited please try again later." I have been trying all day to download this patch and I end up getting the same error. When will the server be up to speed to download this patch?

Aircraft I know a bit about is the A10C. I'm looking to learn the Mirage when it's out.

I'm an older guy and was just wondering if there are any Squads who play this sim for fun? I don't get on much, but I was hoping when I do that I could maybe join up with some players online and fly a few missions and learn a bit more. I'm not looking to join squads where you need to be on a lot because I don't have the time. Would just be nice to be able to join and have a laugh instead of flying on my own when I do get on.

What is Tacview? I was looking to buy this program called Tacview, but I'm not sure it it's something that's easy to setup or not. I know it records your flight, but does it work in single player mode and is it very easy to use and setup? Thanks!

I thought this was just my device playing up and I contacted Oculus support about it. Now I know it's not the Rift, I'll have to let them know about it. What is causing this though? Because people like me might think its a fault with the DK2.
-
That could be due to some controller or device that is conflicting. I had a Microsoft Sidewinder plugged in at the same time as a Hotas Warthog and I got conflicts. I have to unplug the Side Winder now otherwise my trim won't work on the Hotas Warhog. This is even after deleting the Sidewinders trim setting in DCS settings. You should try unplugging some Usb devices and see if you reset key works on your device then.

Some of you having recenter problems. Have you made sure your Num Lock key is on? I tried everything when my Key number 5 didn't work until I realized my Num Lock key wasn't switched on. JaySmizzle - No idea what you mean by not been able to find a recenter key because it's in the DCS settings for sure.

@wormeaten- I don't think people are bitching, I think people are just suggesting what they think should be added to the Rift to make it a better experience. You don't need to start using other software like open track before making a suggestion. I like what they have done with the rift so far, but I was looking for something that will allow me to read the A10C CDU a bit better. I think a zoom function or a limited zoom function would allow me to do that kust like it does on a 2D monitor if Im not using a snap view, but for some reason they have left out the zoom on the Rift. I'm going to test the snap view though and see if I can get by using that for now.

I think it's a bit hard to answer your question because there's so many factors you have to take into account when it comes to FPS. Free flight is fine with medium setting, but when you start adding to much ai you have to turn Visibility to low and alter your settings more. Maybe someone can build a map made for VR that doesn't have buildings and things. I think that might help to get a better FPS. Just a flat surfaced map with just hills would be good. I think this would allow you to add more ai then without such a FPS hit. Does anyone know how to turn off the building completely in the current map and I can test this to some degree? I can only switch the building to Low at the moment using Visibility set to low.
