Great tips! Will have to try again tonight. Hopefully the men in the tankers don't find out about the last tanker that crashed and burned last night as I tried to gas up. :-) :-)
-
Hello Pilots! I'm having great difficultly staying connected. It's possible my hands are not steady enough....or my X52 is not as accurate as it used to be when it was new...I don't know. I just cant seem to stay connected to the tanker for me than a few seconds. Does anyone have any pointers ? Anything would help.:helpsmilie: Thanks.

GOW campaing not starting from the beggining?
Madman777 replied to Irregular programming's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
For that video I just selected the mission from the folder and opened it that way. I never do the campaigns from the campaign menu. -
True Nemises. The reason why I suggest the in-game feature to work because it would add the realism I guess. Otherwise you can use the in game track. :-)

I noticed there is a switch in the A-10C cockpit to record the HUD. I thought it would be very nice if that feature would work. Would be great training tool. And it wouldn't take up great amounts of resources because it's only the HUD area that's recording? Thanks.

Sandy Bridge Overclocking Guide
Madman777 replied to hassata's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Exactly. I bought the Hyper 212+ for $35 and it's been working great. Max temps running DCS for hours never exceeds 53c. With the stock cooler, at 4.3Ghz, the temps were 60-65+. -
Sandy Bridge Overclocking Guide
Madman777 replied to hassata's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I can fly a 2-hour mission with my 2600k @ 5.0Ghz @ 1.43v. I disabled 1 core and HT. So only 3 cores are active. I don't see much a point in having all 4 cores enabled anyways. I could probably go higher, because DCS doesn't kill your CPU like those torture tests do. If my setup can run DCS A-10C for hours and hours without an issue, that is stable enough for me. Normally I keep it at the specs in my signature because I don't have the money to replace it if the volts kill it. :-) -

Suggestions for Multi-monitor setup
Madman777 replied to Madman777's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hmmm, if it's similar in performance...and cheaper I would consider that. Thanks. -
Hello, In a couple months I will have some spending money and I was thinking of instead of going for the TH Warthog, I would go for a triple monitor setup. Would 3x24" monitors with Matrox T2G-D3D-IF TripleHead2Go Digital Edition work well together for DCS BS and DCS A-10C? I know I would probably need a nice vid card to support this. So I was thinking about eVGA Video Card 03G-P3-1598-AR GTX590 DDR5 3072MB PCIE 2.0 ? Assuming I have the above...would I able to use them horizontally and vertically? Or just horizontally? Thanks :-)

I engage nose-wheel steering almost immediately upon startup and my Warthog doesn't move anymore. I was pissing me off at one point. :-)

A nosey question about Matt's rig...

Nice! TrackIR was the best accessory purchase I've ever made. I wouldn't fly or even touch my computer with out it these days. -
DCS: A-10C - Devis Cross Campaign Mission 1
Madman777 replied to Madman777's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Hahaha. Yes it happens on average once a mission. Before the 1.1.0.7 patch it was happening 5 times a mission, plus my HUD was disappearing a few times a mission as well. After 1.1.0.7 patch, I've never had my HUD go missing, and labels only go once a mission...improvements, that's for sure. -

To change wingman's loadout, go to the loadout page where you are, and on the right side of the page, you can see the amount of wingman you have (1-4) Just click on the arrow button to move on to the next wingman. Then just select his loadout like you would yours. It's important to do this, because in some missions the default loadout for fuel is only 50% fuel. And while we are all still learning, a full tank near the OP area is probably a good idea. EDIT - Sorry the first mission in the devils cross campaign, you only have 1 other wingman. You can still load him up with 4 Mav's. Plus your 4 Mav's, should be enough to take out AAA near your targets. -
I have HT disabled. It requires more voltage and gives off more heat. Also, before I tried disabling two of four cores. I noticed I could get 5.1Ghz pretty easily at 1.43vcore with only two cores active. Right now I have 3 cores active...at 4.8Ghz @ 1.35v. DCS does not punish your CPU like those torture tests do, that's for sure. I never get over 53c.

On the ground I get 30-40FPS. BUT, when I look at other aircraft, especially other A-10C's, it drops to 17-20FPS. Only when I'm looking at other wingman. Soon as I look away jumps back up to 30-40FPS. This happens during the Devils Cross Campaign. You need a super computer to get high FPS on the ground when looking at those other beautiful A-10C's.
-
Yes sir, I played both Blackshark and A-10C with the following; Q6600 @ 3.2Ghz 4 GB RAM 40GB SSD 8800GT Windows 7 I got about 20-30 FPS, on low settings mostly (A-10C). During a campaign mission, FPS was generally below 10, when near the target area. With 2600K @ 4.8Ghz I'm getting 3x the FPS. During a campaign, with TGP on and lots of action going on, FPS will dip to 28-29. That is the lowest I've seen it. Even at 4.0Ghz, I was seeing 50-60FPS. These CPU's are so easy to overclock so it doesn't make any sense to go below 4Ghz anyways.

You know when it's time to take a break from DCS A10-C when..
Madman777 replied to HAVOC131's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
When you get a sore neck, shoulders, arms, fingers, wrists and when you blink, your eyes burn. You have no eaten in two days and can't remember the last time (or place) you went to the bathroom.....is about the right time to put DCS A10C down. When to pick it back up again? After a quick shower, sh*t, shave, coffee and a bagel and we are good to go. If in an emergency skip all these steps and just start flying again. :-) -

Load wingman with 4 Mav's each. Once you get to target area, have them all attack the air defenses. That should reduce it enough to make a few bombing runs with clusters. When you send your wingman in to help you bomb the armor, they wont have too much trouble as air defenses are already severely crippled. That what I did. It worked for me. -

This is an entertaining assessment of the DCS A-10 experience...
Madman777 replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Patience & willingness to learn should be on the 'system requirements' section for DCS A10C. That way they wont be surprised. :-) -
The Finger Four formation will tighten the formation from default...if that helps. A lot closer in.
