  1. Amazing! Thanks ED! Purchased and downloading.
  2. That makes sense. Thanks!
  3. Soon we will have a new DCS module - A-10C, and with it will come some AI changes. A list of those changes... Water crossing vehicles will bypass destroyed bridges Other units will re-route themselves if their route is blocked If a moving ground group is engaged, the group will disperse and evade Ground groups will now better use formations and employ new ones Some groups will pop smoke if engaged I would really really like DCS to apply these changes, IF POSSIBLE, to DCS Black Shark. I feel like these changes would give brand new life to DCS BS. Even though A-10C will be taking up considerable time in the near future, nothing will compare to the challenge of flying and fighting in the KA-50. New AI improvements would keep my flying for many more years to come. :-) Thanks!
  4. What helped me overcome this issue was I designed a quick mission with a crap load of SAM's and flew near them, around them, over them, just to get used to seeing the smoke trails and also practice evading. Change the options to make yourself invulnerable. It still won't help you with that SAM hiding behind the tree, but at least you can be a little better reacting to it. Hope that helps.
  5. I use rockets on tanks all the time. You just need to make sure your not hovering or flying really slow. You can fire at tanks from a good distance, you just need lots of practice to get the aim right. I normally can take out 2-3 tanks with rockets. That makes them very useful, at least as a last resort. They can also take out bridges..so that can stop tanks.
  6. ....and once you do get it right you will unleash the awesome power of the un-guided rocket.
  7. Spades_Neil, If it makes you feel any better, for the first several months I had so many problems flying in so many different areas, I thought I would never get it right. I would say after a year I was finally able to fly with some confidence. It take a while to learn how to master flying this thing. Please take your time, be patient and it will come. The reward for doing this is incredible and you will see why DCS BS is such an amazing simulator! If you want some in game help, PM me. I'm Eastern standard time in North America.
  8. Look at the way the turret is pointed (in most cases) if it's pointed towards your troops or towards the way you came from it's most likely enemy.
  9. Hey you know I have the same issue since the last patch. Wingman is ruining all of the campaign missions because he can't do anything right. So, occasionally I cheat and give myself unlimited ammo. Also, I tend not to use the wingman until he is really needed. Don't ask him to engage enemy or engage my target...ask him to cover you. That seems to get him into action and he'll engage targets that are attacking you. Also, you can open the campaign missions in the editor and add another third wingman to your campaign missions. I've edited ALL the campaign missions so I have an extra wingman now for this exact reason. The third wingman is always smarter then the second one. Good luck :-)
  10. Hello, I recently overclocked my q6600 from 2.4Ghz to 3.2Ghz and finally, finally I can play on high settings. It's a whole new world for me. :-) Also note my idiot wingman. Even though I edit the skill of my wingman to excellent (in all the campaign missions). Part 1 edit - having problems embedding try this link Part 2 If not working try this link
  11. Thanks Panzertard. That doesn't really explain why my wingman decides to obey commands in the replay, but not in the actual mission. The 'save track' button at the mission debriefing should record exactly what I just played. "If you are trying to record a track, try not to: - Make hard manouvers (turn / change direction). - Extreme / sudden rudder inputs - Extreme / sudden collective changes." This is not a good solution because if I want to load up a saved track with the purpose of viewing the mission I just played, it wouldn't work because I did some hard maneuvering? There should be a fix or something for this right? It makes watching recorded tracks useless. What is the point of recording a track then going back to watch it and it's not the track you recorded? EDIT - this happens on ALL of my saved tracks. The outcomes are all different
  12. Hello, Having an issue with recorded tracks. It seems that when I play them back, a different outcome happens. I thought how is this possible, then I realized my wingman is responding to my orders differently when I playback my tracks. For example, last night I played a campaign mission, finished it successfully. I decided to watch the track see if it would make a good movie. When I watched, a completely and utterly different outcome happened, because my wingman was actually acknowledging orders in the track the he refused to do in the real mission. :joystick: Anyone else notice this?
  13. Mission accomplished. It's amazing was an extra 800Mhz can do. I bought the following, Corsair H50 CPU water cooler ($80) Asus P5N-D ($100) OCZ 4GB DDR2-800 ($110) Overclocked my Q6600 from 2.4Ghz to 3.2Ghz. I was getting 15-25 FPS at low settings before. Now I'm getting 30-60FPS with all settings on high, including AA & AF at 16x. FINALLY!! Finally after 2 years and over a thousand hours of flying I can finally fly this bird without any interruptions. It's like a whole new sim now. Even recording with FRAPS I still get over 20FPS on high settings! Looks like the i7 will have to wait...ahahah.
  14. True. I'm going to start low and work my way up. I guess I can go as high as my cooler can keep the CPU cool. Was looking at the Corsair H50 liquid cooling, looks pretty neat and easy to install. If I can get good cooling like that I might be able to hit 3.6GHz stable..maybe...we shall see I guess.
  15. Sounds good. My PSU I bought two months ago, it's a brand name 750w (forget what kind..lol) I have a good feeling that going from 2.4Ghz to over 3Ghz will make a huge difference.
  16. So it might be worth it to OC my Q6600, and then invest in a better graphics card. I get boost from CPU and GPU. I can do that under $400 I think. I hope. I just realized by RAM is budget RAM, and it's only DDR2 533mhz. So that would require me to upgrade the RAM as well...eewww. Oh well.
  17. Since BS is very dependent on CPU, I'm guessing that extra 600mhz makes a big difference.
  18. Hmmm thanks for the response guys. I knew it would have to come to this, but I will just put the money away and save for a new system. Buying just parts should make it cheaper. With A-10C around the corner, I can't take any chances :-)
  19. Hello pilots! Question, Does anyone have a Q6600 overclocked to anything above 3Ghz? I can't OC right now, because my HP motherboard. So I'm thinking instead of buying a new PC (money is tight) I can get a new motherboard and OC my Q6600 to get better frames, because right now I'm only getting about 20-25fps on low settings and it dips to the low teens as well Does anyone think I'll see a major improvement (DCS Blackshark, Arma2..etc) if I went from 2.4Ghz to 3.2Ghz or higher? I have; Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz 8800GT 512MB 3GB RAM Windows 7 64bit Thanks!
  20. This preview should be X-rated because I'm getting turned on!
  21. Thanks Deigs...You are right it was a bit long...could have used some more action and less slow-mo. All good advice and will be noted for the next one :-)
  22. Since the patch this is what I do. When near the target area, order your wingman to do recon right into the enemy positions. When you see the AAA and SAMS destroy him, you will know where the enemy AAA/SAMS are to avoid you getting killed. That's about the only useful thing I found for wingman so far...
  23. Thanks GA! Coming from you that means a lot! "And all you could do is simply slow the game down in-game, and speed the footage up 100% during editing to double the fps and get normal playback" I never thought of that. Great idea.
  24. Thanks. My PC - Q6600 @2.4Ghz can't handle much...so I used slow-mo a lot so you guys wouldn't notice the bad FPS....not much I can do about it right now....already started building a new PC :-) After watching it several times over again I found the same problems ..... the manual camera movements - I can't believe I let them slip....hahah. Also, as Boberro mentioned, there is not enough action. Really appreciate the input - hoping my next vid with be better :-)
  25. "I would choose rather watching Bold and beautiful with Brooke and Ridge drama lol" This was not nessesary. I know your just trying to funny, but it wasn't to me. ""I was feeling nostalgic calmness and fanciful boredom when my eyelids accidentially dropped down"?" Again, not nessesary. Your trying too hard to be funny. That is the ONLY reason why you wrote that. What's wrong with saying "It's making me sleepy?" " - unnecessary slow down video - almost no action due to slow down - especially with Mi-24 and Vikhr - music is even nice - movie FPS is low - you moved camera manually in few times " This is much better. You see you can say the things you want without acting like a 6 year old.
